This is probably going to sound ignorant to all of you, but what's prom? I figured I'd ask where somebody who knows for sure could tell me, but I feel like I'm in the dark on all this.

What I've gathered is that it's some sort of event that follows graduation, so I'm thinking it's a tournament of some kind where you pick a sparring partner. If anyone's still looking for someone, I'd be up for it. Just tell me what I need to know.

From what I have read, it is supposed to be a formal event where there is dancing and photography. However, last year it was complete chaos!

Prom works like this. You ask someone to be your date. Someone you like. It isn't a tournament or sparring match, though! It's a really fancy party where you dress up and dance with your partner. You can spend time catching up with friends and eating snacks and drinking punch too!

I think maybe you'd be more familiar with calling them 'Balls'? Not the round kind. Or the... other kind. The dancing kind.

Oh, if it's like that, I think I understand. I've never been to a ball, myself. Usually you'd find nobles and such at a ball. Not a mercenary like me. But I appreciate you using a term I'm more familiar with.

To think I thought it was a sparring match... I must come across as a lunatic! To be honest, I think I just filled in the blanks for myself when I heard some girls talking about it one time. Although I did find it odd that they were more focused on their clothes over how they'd train for the event...

I don't think you sound like a lunatic. It's OK, because everyone comes from somewhere different and they all have different ideas about things. You can't know everything! It's good that you asked the question instead of just showing up ready to fight people!

I imagine someone else has already answered your question for you, but it is merely a social gala. It seems to be tied in with romantic ideas, however, considering most look for 'dates' to attend with them.

Yeah, I've gotten some clarification on the matter. I feel like a fool after what I said before... When I look back on it, I almost can't recall what gave me the impression that it was a tournament in the first place. I was jumping to conclusions before I had anything to lead me there.

Actually, I almost think it might be more entertaining if it was a tournament. In Magvel before the war, I seem to recall enjoying jousting tournaments and sparring between those in the Knight Order. There is no shortage of fancy galas and soirees for the nobility. There are, however, a shortage of interesting tournaments.

That seems to be the general agreement as well, from what I gather. People seem to think it's a better idea. I wonder why it's not a tournament? It would be beneficial to the students. That's what I think.
