[Considering how infrequently Knuckles had made network posts this entire year, seeing him in another one so soon after his first was a little odd. The fact that he looked royally pissed wasn't too good of an indication either. He was in his apartment and the TV could be heard in the backround. Some news station.]

I dunno how many folks knew her, but a student got killed a couple weeks ago. Her name was Charlise, though mostly people called her Kitty. She was a Drifblim, and a member of Lash's Pokemon team. She was a collossal pain in the ass sometimes, but she was still a friend of mine.

It was on the news the other night. No names were mentioned but I went to the Police station in town and checked. I also got a good description of the guy who did it. And how it happened.

So, this is kinda a cautionary tale for Ghost types. If you get killed while you're in Human form, apparently it's for keeps even if you're TECHNICALLY already dead. Least, that's how it looks.

I dunno what's goin' on so far as a funeral or whatever. Was just her Birthday a little while ago too....

[That last part was a bitter sounding mumble.]

Caim. You need to think real hard about how to answer this question. Did you kill my friend? Because a tall, dark haired swordsman is the described culprit. You just get back into town and someone winds up dead... Can't blame a guy for wondering.

....so... heh. The guy who... put you in hospital and caused you to have like... massive panic attacks. Who killed a bunch of people and the Kraken... You're just.. chill. With him.

[There is a vein. It's on Knuckles' forhead and it is pulsing.]

He might have folks he cares about but that doesn't mean he has VALUES. I don't think he did this but he did some pretty damn awful stuff before!

I ain't sayin' we're like best friends or somethin'. Or that he's innocent. I know he did some bad stuff. He's gonna live with it for the rest of his life.

[He gets you're mad, and to be frank, he's just trying hard to be chill right now. He had his moment already. But he's gonna be firm. He doesn't want to be taken the wrong way.]

I AM sayin' if he trusts me with takin' care of his sister after all that's happened, I owe 'im at least the benefit of the doubt before I go throttle 'im.

If we hadn't had the talks we had, I woulda had no problem sayin' he was the worst guy in the entire world.

[And that is HARD for him to say.]

But even if it's small or larger than we could even think, and I don't claim to know 'im front to back either, that lil' tiny inklin' of good needs to be taken account before we accuse 'im for murderin' Charlise.

[Augh. Mac. Why Mac why. The guy tried to Kill You. Knuckles doesn't know everything that was said between the two and is always on Mac's side no matter what. But still. It's CAIM.]

Look. I trust YOU. And if you're.... chill with him then I'm gonna have to be chill with THAT. I don't like it and I ain't ever gonna, but I respect it.

Like I said, I don't think it was him. But I gotta look into it anyhow.

Listen Knux, and I'm on YOUR side, okay? I'll always be your side even if we don't agree a hundred percent on everythin'. We're different, and I'm cool with that too.

Alright - see what you can find. I've been in contact with Caim, and he seems pretty willing to help. Not surprising, if he didn't do it - No-one wants the blame for something like this.

....sorry for losing my shit up there. I just didn't expect to hear that from you and it kinda struck me wrong I guess. We cool?

[He quickly replied.]

He is? I should maybe talk with 'im and see what he knows then. If we're all helpin' then we all gotta hear from each other to get a good idea.

[He is actually very relieved to hear this.]

...It's okay. To be frank, I just didn't wanna upset ya. I'm sorry for that.

[Mac knows how he can be, trusting and all that. All he wants is trust in what he was doing, and he knows Knuckles is a trustworthy and good stand up guy and has everyone's back. They were, however, different. And that really was fine.]

I know ya mean well, you're a good guy. So yeah, we cool.

Sure - Maybe he'll talk to you more than me. Actually, seems pretty likely despite how cooperative he's been so far.

Nah, it's fine. I can see why you might wanna keep me outta the loop on this one in case I lost my temper because... well. You let me into the loop and I lost my temper. It's only because... y'know. I care about you and if he abused your trust and hurt you... Y'know. Itt'd be... upsetting.
