[Considering how infrequently Knuckles had made network posts this entire year, seeing him in another one so soon after his first was a little odd. The fact that he looked royally pissed wasn't too good of an indication either. He was in his apartment and the TV could be heard in the backround. Some news station.]

I dunno how many folks knew her, but a student got killed a couple weeks ago. Her name was Charlise, though mostly people called her Kitty. She was a Drifblim, and a member of Lash's Pokemon team. She was a collossal pain in the ass sometimes, but she was still a friend of mine.

It was on the news the other night. No names were mentioned but I went to the Police station in town and checked. I also got a good description of the guy who did it. And how it happened.

So, this is kinda a cautionary tale for Ghost types. If you get killed while you're in Human form, apparently it's for keeps even if you're TECHNICALLY already dead. Least, that's how it looks.

I dunno what's goin' on so far as a funeral or whatever. Was just her Birthday a little while ago too....

[That last part was a bitter sounding mumble.]

[And the public feed ends.]

Caim. You need to think real hard about how to answer this question. Did you kill my friend? Because a tall, dark haired swordsman is the described culprit. You just get back into town and someone winds up dead... Can't blame a guy for wondering.

[Frankly this was a hard decision on her part. With Kanji gone, Naoto had literally no backup, but she knew enough about Knuckles to know he could be trustworthy. Still, she tended to work alone. It was only because of the Investigation Team that she had opened up in this regard.

But starting that whole thing over?...

Normally she wouldn't have considered the idea, but with the body and mind of a child, she knew she needed at least something. There was no way she could tell him everything, however.

She encoded the next message in a way that would be near impossible to decode, and send it to his phone instead of the school network]

I apologize, but I currently cannot meet you. This investigation requires for me to be working undercover.

[Part of her immediately regretted sending it right afterwards, but she had to learn to trust others more...she just hoped that trust wasn't misplaced.]

[You have no idea how hard it is for her to trust someone.]

If I need backup, I will send you a word.

The timing is almost too perfect. The best course of action is asking him where he was that night, and analyze his alibi. See if he has the murder weapon, or clues regarding his whereabouts. If you could share with me the information he gives you, I would appreciate it.

[She might have an idea...]

I may have a solution. I have constructed my fair share of electronic devices on my own. Would it be acceptable if sent you a smaller equivalent of a text messenger, but programmed with a one time pad of my own creation? We could relay information normally, but encode it using it before sending. This would in effect make any intercepted data unhackable by outside parties.
