I should like to say that I, personally, am quite relieved to have not fallen in love with a cow this year. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with a tender steak dinner. Simply that a line ought to be drawn between loving animals and... well.

[Soryk pauses.]

Loving animals.

[With a flick of his wrist, he continues.]

On a related subject, after a good deal of thought, I have decided it is far past the time in which I should like some information on the creatures we refer to as 'Pokémon.' Their properties, naturally, and other such traits.

[Someone's poisoning extravaganza didn't go quite the way he planned.] For instance, what allows a Pokémon to die and yet, miraculously return from the dead? Eating habits. Life cycles. And so on.

I always thought they were merely animals with a higher intelligence than that of a house pet, yet it seems there is something more to them. If you are a Pokémon, share with me some about yourself. If you have a Pokémon, tell me about your companion. I would very much appreciate it.

I completely agree. In the Pokémon regions, it's customary to take the license exam to become a trainer while still a child. When I took my own exam, I was twenty two and surrounded by ten to twelve year olds. So, it's certainly never too late to take an interest considering we're starting on the back foot, so to speak.

If you've ever a desire to learn a little more by way of combat, I offer one on one tutoring. As for poisons, my knowledge is a little lacking. As a Werewolf, there's any number of toxic elements I'm immune to or simply regenerate from after ingesting.

[The exceptions are chocolate and silver and he's not handing that info out willy-nilly.]

The way it was worded makes it seem like you were calling them stupid, but going about it in a nicer fashion.

[Chiyo had to think on that for a moment. She wasn't familiar with all the Pokemon of her world, just only those in Kanto and most of Johto and Hoenn. At the very least, she knew that not all of them had that ability.]

No. Not all of them, but there are a good many that can. For instance, the ability that allows me to change into my element is known as Acid Armor. Those that are able to use this ability will, essentially, be able to take on a water elemental form like you have suggested.

I don't think-- oh, wait!

[UGH but thinking about who it is pisses him off.]

...There is at least one, but he's the one responsible for sending the whole city into chaos two summers ago.

He was hiding it, for some reason. I don't think anybody knew until that news report after his death!

[Which he paid attention to because staying informed is important, kids. He just... didn't think much about it until now.]

But I don't think he'd be a very reliable source of information on the subject.

I believe the answers to that question vary case-by-case as I cannot answer for all Pokemon. As for myself, I arrived here by accident. A portal opened up in my lake and I crossed it not knowing where it would lead. It brought me here, and seeing as it was a nice opportunity for change, I decided to stay.

Personally, I find receiving the ability to transform into a human to be very handy and convenient. It has opened up a wide-range of possibilities for me, such as being granted the chance to study in school like a human student and the ability to communicate and be understood by others. Our language is one not easily understood by non-Pokemon. In my opinion, I believe this feature is very attractive to us. We can partake in more activities unavailable to us as Pokemon and it is almost as if many limitations for us have been lifted.

He hasn't been dead long enough to be anything of an expert. However, I'll admit that he would definitely know the most about being a ghost Pokemon out of anyone here at the school.

[Not about being back from the dead. Kitty's got way more experience.]

That said, it wouldn't surprise me if there were several more residing in the city somewhere...

I think one of the great things about this place is that we can thrive in both forms. We can go between human and Pokemon and it wouldn't be terribly out of the norm. [Unlike that one time the city went crazy, nearly prosecuting non-humans, but at least that was over. Things seemed more normal now.]

I suppose.... for some it is a way to leave something behind and begin anew. [For her it was basically that -- a way for her to avoid the loneliness and despair she felt in living back home. She would rather start over with a clean slate in a new place than work with what she had there. She had given up on having a life in Kanto. ...Until she met Jon. Now, she couldn't wait to return and go on journeys with him. This place really had done her some good and given her many blessings.] Well, there are also trainers who have enrolled that brought their teams with them and some of the members have taken the opportunity to enroll as well. Others, I assume, probably remain as they are without humanizing and stay close to their trainers.

It's certainly a different culture. They often leave home at ten years old to take a walking tour of the world without human companionship and with immensely powerful creatures at their sides. I think it says a great deal for Pokémon as a whole that not more of these children go 'Missing'.

[And by that he means burned, frozen, electrocuted or poisoned and then eaten. The Monsters of his own world would oftentimes not be nearly so gentle barring perhaps Catgirls. Maybe Sasquatch would be alright with Human kids.]

You use weapons, then?
whirlwind_wolfman: (Wolf - Nunchuks)

[personal profile] whirlwind_wolfman 2015-02-25 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
In my world, we have animals and Monsters and either one would more than likely make a meal of their young charge. But Pokémon, taken as a whole, are quite gentle with the youngsters. They'll fight one another tooth and nail, but they seem very sweet tempered with their young trainers most of the time.

[He'd heard of a few kids getting shocked by Pikachu or getting soaked by a Squirtle. But he'd never heard of one being stung to death by a Beedril or dropped off a cliff by a Fearow.]

Swords and daggers I've used. I prefer the nunchuks, of all the shorter range weapons I've dealt with. Bows I'll have to admit I've very little knowledge of.

I'm sure you didn't mean to draw everyone out of their post-Valentine's day stupor by being insensitive but it certainly worked out, didn't it.

[He hardly sounds offended either way.]

I enjoy long walks on the beach, gold jewelery, and I don't have a favorite type of berry.

Admittedly, I used to be one of the few Pokemon without a trainer. Though, technically, my former trainers passed away of old age which left me without one for a time before I arrived at Smash Academy. It's only recent that I came under the care of Jon Talbain. You may know of him? He's a martial arts instructor here and a wonderful man.

[Wasn't suppose to be a compliment of any sort, but whatever floats this guys boat.]

You're, um...welcome? I think? Least you're being honest about it
