[Video] - Cupidbot Aftermath
I should like to say that I, personally, am quite relieved to have not fallen in love with a cow this year. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with a tender steak dinner. Simply that a line ought to be drawn between loving animals and... well.
[Soryk pauses.]
Loving animals.
[With a flick of his wrist, he continues.]
On a related subject, after a good deal of thought, I have decided it is far past the time in which I should like some information on the creatures we refer to as 'Pokémon.' Their properties, naturally, and other such traits.
[Someone's poisoning extravaganza didn't go quite the way he planned.] For instance, what allows a Pokémon to die and yet, miraculously return from the dead? Eating habits. Life cycles. And so on.
I always thought they were merely animals with a higher intelligence than that of a house pet, yet it seems there is something more to them. If you are a Pokémon, share with me some about yourself. If you have a Pokémon, tell me about your companion. I would very much appreciate it.

He raises an eyebrow as he listens.]
I was perfectly content with anything you were comfortable to share. As I said before, my information on pokemon is a bit sparse. While I intend to take an opportunity to associate myself with the books in the library, first account information would equally be educational.
I do have to ask if all pokemon can take on elemental forms if that is of their background.
no subject
No. Not all of them, but there are a good many that can. For instance, the ability that allows me to change into my element is known as Acid Armor. Those that are able to use this ability will, essentially, be able to take on a water elemental form like you have suggested.

[What stunningly complicated and yet intriguing creatures. Soryk doesn't have anything to refute, which leaves him pleasantly speechless for some moments.]
Then some Pokémon are capable of sharing similar abilities. No different from people, naturally. Why is it that there are so many here? I am aware we had more before and we are some short. Still, I should like to know what it is that attracted them here, or were they brought involuntarily?

Personally, I find receiving the ability to transform into a human to be very handy and convenient. It has opened up a wide-range of possibilities for me, such as being granted the chance to study in school like a human student and the ability to communicate and be understood by others. Our language is one not easily understood by non-Pokemon. In my opinion, I believe this feature is very attractive to us. We can partake in more activities unavailable to us as Pokemon and it is almost as if many limitations for us have been lifted.

This region must be a plethora of blessings then, for Pokémon. There seems to be a great deal more incentive for them to come here, after all. Unless, of course, you were looking to avoid something in your homeland.
[Like him. Sort of. He had no plans of going to war for Hellscream. Disgusting orc that he was. Thrall was so much better. But still an orc.]

I suppose.... for some it is a way to leave something behind and begin anew. [For her it was basically that -- a way for her to avoid the loneliness and despair she felt in living back home. She would rather start over with a clean slate in a new place than work with what she had there. She had given up on having a life in Kanto. ...Until she met Jon. Now, she couldn't wait to return and go on journeys with him. This place really had done her some good and given her many blessings.] Well, there are also trainers who have enrolled that brought their teams with them and some of the members have taken the opportunity to enroll as well. Others, I assume, probably remain as they are without humanizing and stay close to their trainers.

[After all, in many ways, that's exactly what he's doing. He has nothing left for him where he comes from, after all. His future is at the academy. As far as he believes.]
Not all of you have trainers as well, it would seem. I have heard a few times over the network discussion of such and the requirements for such. I suppose it would be a lie for me to pretend I had no interest in it. Mayhap at some point in the future I will find myself following in the footsteps of others.
[And yet that seems unlikely.]

Soryk nods.]
I do know of the man. We have not been formally introduced, but I certainly know who he is and he certainly knows who I am. I think we will both have plenty to learn from one another.
I was, however, unaware that he was your trainer. What a fortunate man he is.

[He seemed sincere enough in his interest in Pokemon. It's always nice seeing people do so. Soryk also seemed to like Jon, and that's always a plus. She's very, very proud of her trainer.]
Maybe you'll even be able to find an amazing partner here to be a part of your team! Who knows. The possibilities are endless.
[Though... are there any many Pokemon here without a trainer? She couldn't recall any....]

[Soryk's mind is already turning. To nab a Pokémon for himself. But whatever would he do with it? In his head, a Pokémon doesn't seem too different from a child and... Well. The thought of children has pretty much always stopped Soryk dead in his tracks. Would he make a good father? His mother seemed to think so, but his thoughts regarding his own father make him think otherwise.
If he couldn't take care of a child, what makes him think he could take care of a Pokémon?]
...I suppose I will need to keep it in consideration. It is certainly not implausible. You have been most helpful, miss. [In spite of his unintentional insults and everything.]

[He's a so-so instructor. Mostly because he doesn't seem like an instructor in the slightest.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Instructor Val'kaeon. If you ever have more questions you'd like to ask me about Pokemon, please feel free.
no subject
I will very much do precisely that. I have plenty I wish to know and you seem to be rather open about speaking with me. I like that.
no subject
That... was very frank. Chiyo normally didn't receive that sort of remark and it flustered her a little - even had her blushing lightly.]
Um... It's. It's no problem at all. [Just try not to make anymore comments implying negative things about animals and everything will be just fine.] It's nice to share things when you can.
no subject
He motions absentmindedly, as if to direct her elsewhere.] It certainly would be nice if people did that more. But then, I suppose the same ought to be said of me. [His smile is slight, mayhap only half of his mouth, but present all the same.] Perhaps we can make an agreement on trading information. I happen to be a bit skilled in that.

I do so look forward to it, little miss. I am certain we be of great use to one another.
no subject
Ah... uh. Yes. I will, uh. I mean. I look forward to it too... Val. Um... until then. ...then.
[Aaaaaawkward.]
no subject
[Be careful with his words? Pfft. It's Soryk. He's a walking cassanova. Except when it comes to people he genuinely likes, evidently.]
no subject
...'kay.
[Uncharacteristic of her, she wordlessly and hastily hung up, unable to handle any more of Val's suave and smooth words. 'Count the days'? Oh god....]
