Good afternoon, Smash Academy!

In spite of the chaotic events of this year's graduation, the school and even the rest of the city seems at peace! [He said, jinxing the entire school.] Truly, these carefree, idyllic, lazy days of summer...

[He suddenly points at the camera, his brow furrowing into SERIOUS BUSINESS MODE.]

Should be anything but! Summer break here is too long to waste on doing nothing!!

[Whoops, he has to check himself here. Deep breath, Kiyotaka. He's trying to prove to a certain someone that he's not just a stick in the mud.]

However, while it certainly is important to refresh one's memory when it comes to schoolwork, all of this free time is also a perfect opportunity to have fun and enjoy ourselves! Even I know that one cannot just spend each and every hour cooped up studying.

[But if you listen closely you can hear the tortured screaming of his soul.]

So tell me: what does everybody do for fun at times like these? There's a whole world of hobbies and recreation that I have yet to experience, but I am looking to change that! Let's work together to make the summer enjoyable, shall we?

Well... I've made a habit of hiking in the woods, and swimming in the lake in the evenings. You wouldn't happen to be fishing for ideas, would you?

[Because that's absolutely what he's doing. There's no doubt in Gordon's mind. Ishimaru wouldn't know fun if it lunged at him and impaled itself on his eyebrows.]

Of course! Broadening the mind and experiencing new things... That's part of what life is all about, isn't it?!

[Mostly he just wants to make sure he has a good idea of what other people consider fun so Leon can't tell him his own ideas don't count.]

But hiking and swimming are both excellent! I swam a lot last summer, and plan to start again soon! [Once it stops being awkward to be near a certain lifeguard.] Ha ha ha! Exercise is both fun and beneficial!

[Had Gordon known about that, he'd tell him to PLEASE, go swimming with said lifeguard. Nearly drown on purpose and get mouth-to-mouth, and don't forget to enjoy it! That's all part of growing up!]

Probably some hunting and fishing, as well... [If Ziio has anything to say about it. Not that he's complaining, he's spending less time in the river then the fish now, at least. However, he's starting to wonder if she's teaching him how to, just to see him in the wild without a shirt on.]

I admit, I will do SOME work this summer, but it's mostly on research projects that don't really have a due date attached to them.

Then you must make those deadlines yourself! People who think they have all the time in the world for something budget their time horribly and put everything off until the last minute!

[Welp. Couldn't keep the stick out of his ass for very long, could he? At least he is not going on about how he should be finding work over the summer, too. But he sure is thinking it.]

I find training in the stadium both enjoyable and productive. Spending time in the wood out back is also enjoyable and would also do most of the student body some good. Get away from computers and cellular telephones and television for a day or two and rediscover nature.

After dealing with venerable old Austrian coots who edited papers at a rate best measured on a geologic time scale, Gordon's learned not to even TRY to rush things; it's an easy way to lose your damn mind.]

Thanks for the advice, but this kind of work doesn't go any faster on a time-table. It's like trying to find a needle in an entire dimension full of hay. Now why don't we get back to the topic of what you're planning to do this summer..?

It's not something like writing an essay where he has to research findings that are already published somewhere. So he won't nag Gordon on it any further. THAT'S NOT WHAT A FUN GUY DOES.]

Right...! Summer! Actually, just talking about it makes me want to go on a hike right now!

You're absolutely right!! As big as this city is, it's still surrounded by so much beautiful nature! It would do everyone some good to go out and appreciate it! I wonder if a camping trip could be arranged?

Of course I haven't forgotten that. It's important to be cautious as long as those things are down there, but... while there is nothing we know of that can be properly done so far, there's no point in wasting precious time just worrying about it!

It is exactly because it is such a broad subject that I am asking so I have a better idea of where to begin! Anyway, this is a good way to get to understand one's peers a little better!

[And to tell the truth, he is sick of studying here where it means nothing at all. No matter how much work you put into something the result is the same as if you just coast and it pisses him off. But he can't admit these thoughts, he'll hate himself for it.]

Peers with different strokes and preferences that they sometimes don't even come close to even look one another. You might as well categorize and color code for every different stereotype and scenarios when things become to human and overlap one another.

More students should strive to work even half as hard as I do!! Imagine the good it would do the world at large to raise a generation with that kind of work ethic!
