[Not much preamble to the video.]

Happy New Year.

I got a piece of paper I need studied - I wanna know where it came from, who's touched it and pretty much anything else about it that might be unusual including whether it's been handled by a ghost or some other undead type person. Handwriting expert could be useful too because I wanna see if it matches the writing of someone who was on campus. Methods scientific or occult or a little column A and a little column B - Don't care. Just need results. I'm willing to pay.


ACTION! Choose your own adventure.

Scenario A: Knuckles is in the Gym in the afternoons beating the snot out of the training bag, or in the weight room, lifting the custom weights Max made for him in ridiculously high volume. He's less his normal cheerful self and it's pretty clear he's working through some frustrations but don't let that stop you saying Hi! He's more than happy of the company, honest! And if you're up for a spar, he would be more than happy to oblige you there, too.

Scenario B: Inbetween or after classes, you can find him in the halls or finishing up whatever work he didn't get done during whichever class you happen to share with him. He may also be walking inbetween buildings or across the quad or to the gym or anywhere else you may have reason to run into him.

Scenario C: In the city, at night. You're less than likely to spot him unless you're on the rooftops of FDC or doing something you shouldn't be doing and he happens to find you. He's been patrolling late evening through to very early morning, especially in the area near where they found Charlise's body, and wherever else recent violence has been reported on the six oclock news. Feel free to either be also inspecting and looking for clues, Oh Fellow Warriors of Justice. Or just be someone who happens to cross his path.

[What do you even begin to say to that? A pang of remorse for her death passed over him, as well as a deep feeling of pity for Knuckles for having lost someone close to him. Death is quite an uncomfortable topic for Pit.]

Ghosts are pretty scary, but not when they're your friends, right? I'm not gonna ask what it says, but... maybe you could write her a note back? I bet that would make her feel less lonely out there.

I'd like to write her one, but I don't know how to get it to her. I need to find where her spirit is and tell her... well. Her note was actually an apology. She needs to know there's nothing for her to be sorry for, so, I have to find where she is so I can tell her that.

I dunno! If she could put a note there, who's to say she can't come back to the same spot? That's called haunting!

You think so? I'm surprised you'd say that. I bet you could wrap up an old sandwich and I'd still find a way to be happy.

But you're an Angel! I know you're a nice guy and everything, but I wouldn't wanna get you something you're unimpressed with and you've probably seen a LOT of stuff.

Really? How does that work? Didn't you go away for like... years and years for an epic adventure?

It works because about 99% of that time was spent, well... not adventuring.

But don't get me wrong! That 1% was WAAAAY more adventure than I ever needed in my life. Kind of fun at times, though. When I wasn't falling through space or being devoured by the god of the Underworld, that is. But believe me when I say I NEVER want to go through what I went through ever again. Ever.

...Uh. That being said, you could find me a better life insurance plan for Christmas?

Life insurance? But you're an angel. I guess I always figured you were... Y'know. Immortal?

Technically, I am. But with conditions. It's sort of a "see back for details" kind of deal.

Really? You come with a disclaimer? Like when appliances have warnings written on the boxes like 'Do not clean blender with your hand while blender is running' and 'do not attempt to dry your pets in this microwave'?

Sounds about right! Except, you know... I can't actually read the disclaimer. And that's not because I don't know how. I just... It's like a trial-and-error run. Learning from mistakes is the only way to learn.

Well, it's ONE way to learn. Might be a more convenient way though, I mean.... some mistakes are gonna kill you before you manage to figure out they're gonna be that serious. Which is why I think most of those appliances have crazy warnings on them, because people have learned lessons by making mistakes. Bad mistakes.

Well, we're Men of Action, You n Me. We see something bad about to happen, we jump in to stop it. So, most folks don't get a chance to make a mistake like that wi' us around.
