Video / action
[Not much preamble to the video.]
Happy New Year.
I got a piece of paper I need studied - I wanna know where it came from, who's touched it and pretty much anything else about it that might be unusual including whether it's been handled by a ghost or some other undead type person. Handwriting expert could be useful too because I wanna see if it matches the writing of someone who was on campus. Methods scientific or occult or a little column A and a little column B - Don't care. Just need results. I'm willing to pay.
ACTION! Choose your own adventure.
Scenario A: Knuckles is in the Gym in the afternoons beating the snot out of the training bag, or in the weight room, lifting the custom weights Max made for him in ridiculously high volume. He's less his normal cheerful self and it's pretty clear he's working through some frustrations but don't let that stop you saying Hi! He's more than happy of the company, honest! And if you're up for a spar, he would be more than happy to oblige you there, too.
Scenario B: Inbetween or after classes, you can find him in the halls or finishing up whatever work he didn't get done during whichever class you happen to share with him. He may also be walking inbetween buildings or across the quad or to the gym or anywhere else you may have reason to run into him.
Scenario C: In the city, at night. You're less than likely to spot him unless you're on the rooftops of FDC or doing something you shouldn't be doing and he happens to find you. He's been patrolling late evening through to very early morning, especially in the area near where they found Charlise's body, and wherever else recent violence has been reported on the six oclock news. Feel free to either be also inspecting and looking for clues, Oh Fellow Warriors of Justice. Or just be someone who happens to cross his path.
[Action] Please give to me Scenario B, Sir.
She didn't even know the extent of her abilities. Very loosely Voile knew two things: she was empathic and she had precognitive abilities. The latter not incredibly strong, but the story went according to some professors that gardevoirs were prone to visions of the future. And she imagined that was very circumstantial and not at all something common or frequent.
And she couldn't think of a single time she'd foretold the future. In any way.
At any rate, she had kept her word. Knuckles wanted to take her out to get her something that would - she assumed - allow him to keep an eye on her. In the unlikely event that she would wind up in trouble. So she had gone to the campus gym to see if he'd stopped in... dressed like.
Well. Voile.]
And B you shall have, Miss!
Hey! How you doing, buddy? Come to pump some iron, huh? I can spot you if you want.
[He was kidding, of course. But she knew that.]
8> My hero. ♥
Yes. I am completely here to work out. I even dressed for the occasion.
[Even if she'd tried to be deadpan, she knew very well there was no way she could pull the feat off.]
I try!
[Said only because Max wasn't within earshot - he didn't want to spend his afternoon with Voile nursing sore ears from his, probably loud, protests.]
You're gonna make me barf hearts everywhere if you keep that up.
[Settling a hand upon her hip, she gave him an amused and most direct stare, almost daring him to challenge her. She really would force him into one - even if it ripped her dress in the end.]
Uh-oh, better make sure the heart bucket is on stand-by
[Finally, he couldn't help himself laughing.]
Anyway! Were you wanting to go get your cellphone today? Or visiting just for the sake of visiting?
NO THAT'S IT GONNA BARF ALL OVER YEEEEW ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
We'll get you in a dress later when we're not shopping. Since this was your idea, I'm putting you in charge. Considering the only thing I really know how to do is turn on a camera and type on a keyboard. Technology is something I've never really had to look into before. It's an entirely new world for me - for the most part.
/Washed away by all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s
[He started walking out of the Gym, holding the door for her.]
Trust me - you already got a head start on me. When I first got here, I came from the wild and the only machines I had really dealt with were robots bent on trying to kill me. So, your attitude toward technology is already on the positive side by comparison!
Immediately we make the best thread.
As she listened to him, she gave a slow nod.]
But you're from the wild. Remember, I had a trainer in Lilycove. He had access to the pokedex, the navigation system, and other such things. Technology isn't foreign to me and I imagine you've lived in the wild longer than I have. So you were allowed to be apprehensive.
Totes.
[He started walking toward the school parking area and his bike.]
Still, coulda been worse - I actually figured out pretty quickly how badly I needed to get on board with the whole technology thing just to survive in the city. The computer was good for that. It let me talk to people without having to be right up near them and that was helpful. Wasn't real good with people at first, either. Was able to kinda ease into that.

[She walked gingerly after him, almost too dainty. Although it didn't surprise her when she couldn't picture herself on a bike. But then, she also hadn't been able to picture herself in a limousine with Seth either.]
But again, wild man and everything. Well, wild echidna. Most wild things aren't very keen on being people people. Back when I was a-- [She paused, minutely amused she was actually willing to discuss her past with him. After over three years of knowing him.] --ralts, before my trainer, I would watch people, but I was terrified of them. And even after I was caught, I was still terrified, but then I suppose that's because I'm a bit afraid of pokéballs and really despised being stuck in one.

The idea of being out in a Pokeball is crazy-scary. I'm no claustrophobe or anythin' - if I was, it would be hard to dig underground. But being confined against my will is a pretty nasty thought and Pokeballs are... well. They just look so SMALL.
[They were roughly tennis ball sized - the idea of fitting a person like Voile or Char or Bulba into something that could fit comfortably in his palm was still alien and strange to him.]
no subject
[Then she smiled teasingly.] One of these days I'll throw one at you and you can try it out. [Except she imagined that wasn't a thing that would actually pan out.]
no subject
Given a choice I would much rather be shoved into a dress than a Pokeball. Pretty sure it wouldn't work anyhow, but let's not tempt fate.
[The parking structure grew close and Knuckles pulled out his keys, pressing the little button on his keychain that would unlock and activate his Extreme Gear.]
Have I ever taken you riding on my hoverbike before? I don't think so but I might be misremembering.
no subject
You haven't. I've only been in a vehicle a couple of times. A long time ago when Giovanni was here, he took me shopping and drove. And Seth took me to a restaurant in a limousine once. I tend to either float or walk around everywhere, I've noticed. Probably because I'm still not really sure how vehicle transportation works.
no subject
[He hit the little red button that started the bike charging and watched as it started to lift off the ground.]
It works pretty easily with this guy - I sit in front, you sit in back and hold onto my shoulders real tight. I'll take it slow bein' you're not used to riding like this. Unless you decide ya like it and WANT me to go faster.
no subject
[Voile laughed and she tipped her head to the side with an amused expression. Then she drew up a hand and swept back some hair behind her shoulder. It seemed fruitless considering shorter locks managed to wind their way right back over her neck.]
I'm trusting you, okay? If I get hurt, you'll upset people.
no subject
[He chuckled and sat down on the bike, wrapping his tail around his waist so it didn't impede her sitting down.]
Trust me - you're not gonna get hurt. I've been riding this thing to and from school and home and work for a long while now. Way different to racing it and using it for stunts.
no subject
After a moment, she curled a hand under his arm and slipped it about him in favour of hugging herself to him carefully.]
I assume you're very good at driving, honestly. I just feel it necessary to remind you I am one hundred percent fragile. [And she was probably teasing.]
no subject
[He started out of the parking block slowly and sped up just a little as they hit the driveway and the road to town.]
Great thing about this bike? Powered by air. Almost noiseless and it doesn't produce any pollution at all. Plus, it can out-speed almost any two wheeled bike out there.
no subject
How does that actually work? Like, I don't know anything about cars or things like that at all. So you'll probably need to talk with me like I'm a bit of a child. Enlighten me as to how it works.
no subject
[What had Tails told him about it? It was the ....something something reaction allowing magnetic... thing...]
....I actually don't remember what Tails or Wave tried to teach me about how it works. But it works really well, so, that's the main thing? Eheh.
no subject
You don't remember, but you trust them so explicitly, hm? I seem to remember Wave just slightly. We weren't close or anything, but I thought she was brazen and forward. Direct, anyway. Something sometimes people need to be more of.
[Voile gave Knuckles a little bit of a squeeze.] Maybe we should go visit the library sometime and actually figure out the hows and whys behind your endearing little bike here.
no subject
...as for a book on it? I probably wouldn't understand it even if we found one. But if you're interested, I say go for it!
no subject
[But she said it with interest and intrigue, a sudden appreciation for the differences between them. After all, it would have been terribly boring for them to be so common with one another.]
Perhaps I am better left for that myself. With that said... [She tapped her left hand's fingertips to his chest.] Where are we going?
