Hello everyone. For those of you who may not know me, my name is Chiyo and I'm a Vaporeon. I first arrived at Smash Academy two years back and spent, according to the time here, a year away on an unexpected break. If by chance you may be curious as to where I've been, I was away traveling through a few worlds before I was able to find a portal to return here. Speaking of which, portals can be rather complicated to understand and use, so please be careful when you see or plan to use one, okay?

That aside, I'll be in college this year! I'm greatly looking forward to studying, spending time in the library and greenhouse, swimming, and hanging out with friends again. Although I'm saddened to have discovered that several friends I knew have left, I still look forward to making new friends and hope we'll have a pleasant year together.

In the meantime, I'll be taking a walk around the school and will be looking to reunite with some friends. If you'd like to meet or text me, please feel free to do so. I'll have my phone with me and will answer any texts as soon as I'm able.

Again, it's nice to be back. I hope I didn't cause too much trouble when I disappeared. If I did, I'd like to make it up to you. Other than that, hope you have a great day!

[He couldn't help chuckling a bit at the grin it gave her - he really believed the Ukulele had a special power to make just about anyone happy. So, for a person like Chiyo, who seemed to be pretty happy anyway, it was like doubling her fun!]

Maybe one day, when I get good enough, I could write a proper welcome home song. Until then, I'm glad you liked it so much!

I'm sure you'll write a lovely song. I'm looking forward to it already. Are there any other songs you know how to play? I'd love to listen.

[Maybe later she'd have to look into finding an instrument of her own to play. Watching the happiness Sonny felt and gave while playing was rather inspirational to Chiyo. It made her wish to experience the same.]

I know a few! But! I know a perfect one for you - It's about going to a different place! like a different world? You just got back from some of those, so you might like this one!

That was wonderful, Sonny. You've become such a good singer and ukelele player while I was away. I wish I could be as talented as you. I've never tried my hand at any instruments before.

I hadn't either, before I started getting lessons in town! I bet you could find an instrument you would love to play! And I'm glad you liked the song!

That would be really nice. The ukulele sounds fun. Maybe I could learn that first. Is it hard?

It can be! You have to learn all the chords, and where to put your fingers to make them? And then the order that the chords go into to make songs, plus the kind of strum you need to use to get the proper noise and THEN the timing as well! Because if you play too fast or too slow? The song will sound all different.

But I think that's kind of the same for all instruments. That's the challenge of it! The main reason I like the Ukulele is that it always sounds happy. It's a really relaxing and joyful instrument to listen to, so, people who hear you play will usually become relaxed and joyful too!

[She loved Sonny's reasoning for choosing the Ukulele. It truly did produce joyful tunes.]

That does sound difficult. I wonder if I could do it? Would it be too much to ask if you could teach me? I'd like to try it.

I can show you some things! Sure! I would be happy to! But just remember that I'm still kind of a novice? So, I might not be the best teacher ever when it comes to more tricky songs? There's still so much I have to learn! But, if I show you everything I know, then we could learn the rest together!

Thank you, Sonny! [Learning together sounded like an absolutely wonderful idea.] I'm sure it'll be much more fun to learn with a friend. I just hope that I can catch up to you and match your level.

And don't worry about being a novice! I bet you're much better than you give yourself credit for. Also, it is said that the best way to learn and practice is to teach what you're learning to others. We can also take it slow, if you don't mind spending the extra time on me.

[Really, he was just happy to hear her say that she considered him a friend. After everything that had happened, he wouldn't have been surprised if that title took some time and effort to earn.]

That makes a lot of sense! The learning things better by teaching thing, I mean! But I really am a novice - you could find SO MANY good videos of people playing Ukulele online! That's how I know I have a long way to go.

It's nothing to worry about. Two novices learning together... at least we'll be able to help each other out once I've gotten good enough. [She glanced off to the side to think for a moment.]

I guess this means I'll have to take a trip to an instrument store. Are Ukuleles expensive?

They can be if you buy one of the really well known brands? I guess it's kind of like anything. Some are expensive, some aren't. But, if you wanted? I could get you one! Just call it... a late Christmas gift. Because if you were here in December, I would of gotten you one anyway and it's not your fault you weren't here, then.

I got one for my friend Vivian who wanted to learn to play, too!!

Oh no! You don't have to. That's rather sweet of you to offer though. I couldn't possibly let you buy it for me with money you've worked hard for. [Speaking of which, she wondered if he still worked for Bowser. That still worried her.] I, I don't even have a gift for you either. It wouldn't be fair. At the very least, allow me to get you something as well. I would love to do so.

You really wouldn't have to get me anything in return! But if you really wanted to, maybe one day we could just get lunch together or something and you could pay for that? How does that sound? I promise I won't order anything too expensive! Haha!
