Are any of you familiar with the legend of the Dragon's Gate? They say that there exists a huge waterfall running off a great mountain. Fish swim upstream against the harsh current, but most tire out and are swept away. But those who have the courage to persist and make it to the top of the waterfall are transformed into a beautiful, powerful dragon.
It's a good lesson, isn't it?
That's right! Even though this school has countless obstacles and hurdles and dangers looming quite literally right over our heads, if we give up, we too will be pushed back and will make no progress! We must press on through the unforgiving current, and when we make it, we will come out stronger than ever! All right! Let's do our best to reach the top!!
[What brought this up? Is someone trying to keep himself from going nuts at the idea of one last year here... probably.]
On another note... There are many Pokemon and trainers here, so if anybody has any advice on raising a Magikarp, I'm all ears!
[Ah. Ah. That's it.
ACTION TIMES: Kiyotaka can be found bonding with an ugly fish he lets swim in a kiddie pool out in the stadium some days. Most of the time he can be found studying. Livin' on the edge. Although whatever he's doing, he seems to be favouring his left arm a little.]

whoops
Er--! Wait! I shouldn't have--!
[...Should he have? Hajime was kissing back. That probably meant he was not as offended by the move as he thought... right?]
That... That is... I...
[Now what?! That's the problem with acting on impulse. It leads to not knowing what to do in the immediate aftermath because there's been no time to formulate a plan of action. That's why Kiyotaka usually avoids that kind of thing.
He's absolutely terrified that anything he does now will destroy their friendship, because he's noticed that's what kisses tend to do.]
all your fault
Finally, Hajime glances away, biting his lip to contain the tremulous smile breaking over his face.]
I--It's all right. Ah, I, ahh. I...
[The words aren't coming. He doesn't have any, he'd never imagined being in a situation like this. It was simply beyond his ability to assume it could ever be. He still has to assume it was some sort of mistake, or accident. But, but even for just a slip up... he...]
I... I don't... mind.
a gay coma from shocky
W-well, still--! It was inappropriate to do that without any warning!!
[Part of him is thrilled that Hajime didn't mind. He really wants to ask if it's fine to continue with it, then. But this time he's going to ignore the impulse, especially since most of him is still panicking in this unplanned and still largely unfamiliar territory (he's kissed a girl before, but not a boy without the influence of weird school curses, so even if this is somehow a lot easier than with a girl it's still new) so he searches frantically for something that is familiar. Something he's good at.
His gaze falls on the textbooks on his desk.]
Ah... Ahh, right! We should best get to studying, then...! That's what we came here for, but we lost focus...

[This whole thing is just... just a great big distraction. Usually he frowned upon frivolous deviations from the matter at hand.
His face radiated red heat, cursing his diversion from their goals, their real ones here. He had no idea what he was doing with this, what he hoped to accomplish with this sort of complication.
Better to stick with the plan, yes. He couldn't screw anything up worse that way, so long as he...]
Oh, but... your arm... h-hold still, I'll help rebandage it.
no subject
Oh... Of course!
[Ah, right, keeping wounds all bandaged up is also responsible. Kiyotaka clears his throat and take the four-step journey to his night stand to pull out a little packet of folded gauze and some tape. You weren't planning to just put the old bandage back on, Hajime, were you, that's gross.]
Here, use this.
no subject
Right... sit down I'll take care of it. Let me know if it's too loose, or too tight.
[He hadn't treated any wounds as deep as this before, but it wasn't fresh or festering, so it shouldn't be too complicated. He sat by Kiyotaka, and began to carefully wind the dressing around his arm.]
Have you gone to see the nurse...? It might scar.
no subject
[SOMEONE. Has not been filled in about the fill-in. But hey, at least he knows how to disinfect and bandage a thing. At that deep, a stitch or two might be kind of useful, though.]
But a scar like that is nothing compared to what could have been!
[There was a time when he would have preferred to keep his body pristine and free of any marks -- he still has no interest in becoming a huge battle-scarred mess, but he knows that he already has ugly jagged scars across his back from messy run-ins with demon moles. He does not know about the one hidden under his hair or the way his skull feels Not Quite Right.
But should this scar, it would at least be a meaningful one. A reminder of what drove him to take up swordsmanship. Or of what led him to kiss--
Wait, is he sure he wants to remember that? There's no way he can forget it. He's still embarrassed, and his face flushes just a little more. Every light touch on his arm right now feels hot and amplified ten times over and all he wants to do is do it again and...
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, now that the first wave of panic and embarrassment has settled.
There's no way he's going to interrupt the wound dressing process, though.]
no subject
[Contrary to Kiyotaka's reflection of what good the wound has done to their relationship, Hajime can't stop thinking about the alternative. If he couldn't have been there to protect him from this, he sure as hell can be thorough in following through on what's left. It's the least he owes him...
He ties the bandages off, and gives a firm nod, but doesn't quite back off, looking to Kiyotaka.]
I believe there's been a replacement nurse for a little while. As a facility for fighting, they at least have some limits for negligence.
no subject
The lecturing, though, he'll keep fussing about. He grabs Hajime's hand again and squeezes it firmly, his gaze fixed on the far wall.]
Hajime. This is my second chance at life. Believe me, there's no way I'd foolishly let it go to waste! [So stop thinking he's trying to recklessly toss it away. But it would be nice to stop winding up in dangerous situations...]
If there's a nurse, then let's go immediately! Even just following up on what's already starting to heal is useful!
[He wonders just who this mystery nurse could be.]
no subject
In that moment, Hajime felt the urge to kiss him again, to affirm he was still there, still alive. He'd been so foolish to not trust him. But the moment was passed, the conversation continued. For the best, of course. There was no time for distracting impulses...
Instead, Hajime squeezed Kiyotaka's hand once, softly, and stood.]
Let's go, then. If nothing else, it'll be good to acquaint ourselves.
no subject
BUT SO. THEY GO. TO THE INFIRMARY. Where there is no awful surprise waiting for them or anything.]
