A notice to students; over the next few days, if anyone from Final Destination City tries to talk to you about the incident or makes any sort of threat towards you or your friends, get in touch with a member of the faculty as soon as you can. It doesn't matter who; if nothing else you can reply to this message, or visit someone's office hours. Do not try to solve any problems by yourself. Remember that we're here to help you and keep your safe.

I heard on the news that they're associating Aperture with the incident. Are you all right?

It's just an idea. I don't know. I feel like if it were simpler, this would have all been solved already.

Or at least... [Well, he's used to solving these things in three days, okay.]

I don't know. Maybe I'm overthinking this.

[He plucks off his glasses and kneads his brow for a moment.]

Connor suggested that getting to the source of those drug-pops would do something. I don't think it'll instantly destroy all the evils in the world, but they've been found at two incidents that I know of. If we cut off the supply to the city it'll make these assholes a little more rational, or at least make them too miserable while detoxing to do anything. Either way, we benefit.

[Phoenix nods intermittently as Gordon speaks. Okay, this is a smart guy. Phoenix can work with him.]

You're absolutely right. If we can find the source of the drugs, I have a feeling that a lot of things would calm down.

I've seen confiscated ones around here. The first step would be to find the dealer here at the school and convince them to tell us where they come from... though I suppose if it were that easy, they would have already been caught by now.

[He sighs again.]

I guess there's a reason I hadn't mentioned it before, but...

Last summer, the drugs had just come out and I had no idea what they were. One of the students sold me one, and I thought it was just a regular lollipop. And... Well, the student who sold it to me was a young girl who... [He pauses. He never held any animosity toward Ai after she sold him that lollipop because he knew it wasn't her fault.]

Well, I don't think she knew. She's young and impressionable. Maybe I should talk to her...

They're getting students to peddle these damn things?

[And young girls on top of it? He makes a noise between a growl and a sigh.]

Figures. You think there might be others? The school's not small by any stretch of the imagination, and one young girl isn't going to come in contact with the upperclassmen very often.

[He nods.]

Yeah, there has to be others. I don't know if they're other young people, but... It would be easy to convince a young, impressionable girl like Ai to sell those lollipops.

I, hm... I suppose it's a place to start. At the end of the day, what they're selling IS candy, but I don't think the younger ones could resist eating half of what they sell. They're probably not going to open up if you or I question them out of the blue, either.

[He nods slightly as something occurs to him.] ...We need to get a hold of the head of the girls' dorms. Hell, boy's dorms too! If anyone knows if any of the kids are acting weird, they would.

[Phoenix nods again. While he normally stayed away from the girls' dorms, he wouldn't hesitate now in investigating them. It's for the sake of saving lives, of course.]

Right. I think I've only seen girls selling the lollipops, and I don't know how much in the know they are...

[Still, the thought of Ai ingesting that same lollipop Phoenix had almost makes him sick. Ai on an acid trip... Whoever is making her sell these things is disgusting indeed.]

[He mulls this over. How much WOULD the head of the dorms know? This ain't exactly the kind of thing kids are up-front about...]

...All the same it's better than nothing. [He finishes the thought aloud.] I'll let you know if I come across anything on my end.
