Sodding hell. I'm not much of one for the TV, but even I don't live under a rock. The city's gone bonkers, it appears and to put it far more kindly than I'm wont to do, Pro-Human sentiment amongst it's citizenry seems at an all time, somewhat violent high. Now, I'm a pessimist by nature, so, take this with a grain of salt if you must, but I'd suggest the Non-Human folk of the Academy take the time to arm themselves with something stronger than goodwill and a desire to talk out their differences. And if you can't afford a tazer or a gun or a bloody great knife, and if you aren't amongst those able to shoot fire from your eyes or lightning from your arse, I could be convinced to show you a few moves to help you in an unarmed or melee fight. I cannot teach you how to be bullet proof. I cannot teach you how to make sense of this kind of disgrace. I CAN teach you how to ensure anyone giving you guff spends the next week exhuming their teeth from the lavatory.

Anyone interested, drop me a private note. I don't often offer my services like this but... desperate times and all that.

I know you can handle yourself, but I've obviously got my own reservations. If anyone gives you a hard time, please do not be gentle about teaching them the error of their ways. I know it will get us both in a spot of hot water, but frankly my dear I don't give a damn.

It is a concern. Mob mentality is always dangerous, but I hope it won't come to that.

From what I've seen, it's already come to that. Attacks on non-human folk are going up and then of course retaliation sets in and Humans are winding up in hospital. Seems this sort of thing can't be escaped no matter how handily it gets masked day to day.

... I'll keep an eye out, too.

Be careful. So far it's not happened that I've heard of, but folk might take a shine to ganging up on 'sympathisers'. I know you're a wonderfully capable fighter - one of the best, and I don't dish out praise like that willy-nilly. But if enough lads take it into their heads you need to get your kidneys kicked in for fraternizing with the 'beasts', you might wind up worse for wear.

I'm always careful, love. Thanks for the worry. The same goes for you, too. Don't think I don't see all that talk about "giving them a target". You're a noble one Talbain, just don't let it get the better of you.

And if that's not an option? If you're somehow cornered or you've a need to protect someone who can't fight back? Peace was never won by those who live in a state of it. Respect was never given to someone who sat idly by and didn't earn it - These people hate you and have little by way of compassion at this time. You may be right and it may be wrong to hurt them, but it's just as wrong to allow them to hurt you if you can avoid it.

Appreciate the concern, Luv, but ittle take more than this sorry lot to do me in. I ran the gauntlet back when Mobs were made up of angry men, carrying fire and fuelled by strong drink and with muscles from long days spent doing naught but hard, physical labor. Not these pasty, useless accountants and pimple faced rebel teenagers who've never lifted a finger in an honest days hard work.

I'm also staying in my wolf form for the duration of this mess. I'm used to being hated and pursued. If they want a target, I'll give them a sodding target. If it keeps them off the backs of some of the worlds less capable monsters and animals, it's for the better, no?

Look, you know I'm not much of one for selfless heroics. Let the Good Guys take on the problems of the world and all that. But this is no big thing and I think it may help at least a few to give these mobs something to chase. And should they catch me... well. I'll just remind them why they ought to have stayed home with a cuppa and the evening news.

That is precisely what I'm getting at, yes. The folk in this school not of the Human Race and who, through inexperience or a lack of aggression, might need help in learning how defend themselves can come to me for a few pointers.

Yeah. It was a long time ago for me, but not so much for the folks here. It's a little hard to forget. Some jerk pulverized me and several other staff members and students and strung us out like dirty laundry. Wrote in blood red letters: FREAKS GET OUT. I don't remember anything except wiping out one moment and waking up in the infirmary the next. It was pretty terrible.

Ah. I'd heard about that, though, second hand information is often lacking. Had no idea they turned on an Angel of all bloody things. You lot are generally fairly highly regarded by Humankind. Actually, where and when I'm from, if an Angel appears to you it's a Miracle and folk are likely to make a saint out of you.

I don't get it either. Guess angels aren't immune to hate crimes either. And I don't think as many people are in awe of me around here as you think.

I suppose it's because you're more available here. Where I'm from, the appearance of an Angel is something you read about in holy books. I daresay the impact of that is lost when you spot one down at the local grocers buying a head of cabbage and a bottle of milk every second wednesday.

Haha! Yeah, probably. Everyone's used to me by now. Well, except the people I just meet who believe me when I say I'm an angel. Then again, everyone's reaction is different.

Oh, no. Don't get me wrong. I don't disbelieve you. It's just that where I'm from, again, Angels are regarded differently. Disinterested, cold and harsh, forbidding, judge and pawn both at once. Chatting with you is much more like talking to someone pleasant from a far off country than talking to a weaponized extension of Heaven's will. If that makes sense.

I'll be fine. I'm sticking to my woilf form with the express purpose oif drawing attention from other, less capable folk. I've dealt with angry mobs the greater portion of my life. This is no different and I'll weather it just as I've weathered every other collection of angry men to take exception to my existance.
