Video / action
[Not much preamble to the video.]
Happy New Year.
I got a piece of paper I need studied - I wanna know where it came from, who's touched it and pretty much anything else about it that might be unusual including whether it's been handled by a ghost or some other undead type person. Handwriting expert could be useful too because I wanna see if it matches the writing of someone who was on campus. Methods scientific or occult or a little column A and a little column B - Don't care. Just need results. I'm willing to pay.
ACTION! Choose your own adventure.
Scenario A: Knuckles is in the Gym in the afternoons beating the snot out of the training bag, or in the weight room, lifting the custom weights Max made for him in ridiculously high volume. He's less his normal cheerful self and it's pretty clear he's working through some frustrations but don't let that stop you saying Hi! He's more than happy of the company, honest! And if you're up for a spar, he would be more than happy to oblige you there, too.
Scenario B: Inbetween or after classes, you can find him in the halls or finishing up whatever work he didn't get done during whichever class you happen to share with him. He may also be walking inbetween buildings or across the quad or to the gym or anywhere else you may have reason to run into him.
Scenario C: In the city, at night. You're less than likely to spot him unless you're on the rooftops of FDC or doing something you shouldn't be doing and he happens to find you. He's been patrolling late evening through to very early morning, especially in the area near where they found Charlise's body, and wherever else recent violence has been reported on the six oclock news. Feel free to either be also inspecting and looking for clues, Oh Fellow Warriors of Justice. Or just be someone who happens to cross his path.

Hey man. You come to get some punchin' practise in?
no subject
[Though something is on his mind. And with Knuckles pounding on the bag like that well. Mac is now more inclined to ask. Before Knuckles can ask what was up with his behavior, Mac started going down that direction.]
...But uh, can I talk to you?
no subject
[Mac looked pretty serious. He had to wonder what had gone down.]
no subject
[Mac's face barely quivered, despite the sensitive subject here on everyone. It's mainly because he wanted to tough it out. And he tried to not make it emotionally a deal again. But even if he was here a while, the stuff that happened was still a bit surreal.]
...Y'really think Charlise coulda sent you that?
no subject
no subject
So uh, did anyone else get anythin'? Other than you?
[Then he looked at the floor. Right after he said that, he went somewhere else.]
Y'know, once you start thinkin' about what could happen here it makes ya wanna think.
Y'hear all this weird stuff about ghosts and I guess everyone knows some basic stuff about 'em.
[You have a point, Mac?]
...Makes me think it's one of those "she's bein' made to be here cuz she's got unfinished business" things.
no subject
[He slammed his fist into the bag again, his brow furrowing.]
Yeah, and I'm pretty sure you're right. Unfinished business. But it's... it's just so.... so STUPID.
[That last part and what followed was more a growl than anything else.]
Coulda given me a name. Coulda given me an actual date or time or... or SOMETHIN' I can actually USE. But no, she's gotta make a joke and apologize. Damnit - she doesn't HAVE to be sorry! She's the one that died! I'm the one who messed up and I wasn't there for her and she apologizes? What the hell, man? It's dumb is what it is.
no subject
Knux, if she came and said that...it don't sound like she blames you for nothin'.
And I might just be yappin' my gums here but I dunno how it works bein' a real ghost. There hasta be some reason why she didn't say that.
[Frown.]
...Maybe she thought it was more important to ease ya with whatever is lighthearted.
[He shrugged.]
I don't got the answers here...wish I did.
no subject
[Maybe he'd feel better if she HAD blamed him for it.]
If there's a reason, I'm gonna figure it out somehow. And if there's any answers to be got, I'm gonna get 'em. If she's a real ghost and she's still at the school, stuck here for some weird reason I gotta be able to get some answers from her.
[He snorted.]
Just like her, though. Gotta make me work five times harder for everything. Probably laughing her ass off wherever she is.
no subject
We gotta have a million people in this school alone who can contact the dead.
Makes my mun miss playing Mayu. We'll get...we'll get answers.
[Mac is trying reassure Knux. He placed a hand on one of his shoulders. Mac is putting whatever kindness energy he had and is trying to console Knux in the best way he knew how. He was worried about everything, and Mac was a believer in faith when things were bleak. Or seemed that way.]
no subject
[He reached up and clapped Mac on the shoulder in return.]
What about you? How's everything going? You... y'knoiw. Still chill with Caim? I actually talked with him a little over the network. Seems eager to help out. And his sister is.. well. She's actually really sweet.
no subject
Yeah, we're still bein' on pretty good terms.
[Mac is...actually. Liking him a little. But he won't say that yet, moreso in him thinking Knuckles might not be ready to hear it. He didn't want to blow his mind with already so much in it. Not a factor of mistrust at all.]
He's gonna personally introduce me to her soon. We just need to get a good meetin' place and really talk.
no subject
[Because what were you supposed to expect when presented with the sister of a serial killer?]
no subject
If you're sayin' that too, I can believe it.
[Smiles a little.]
Maybe different but I still think it's nice to know he's got someone like that always around.

Even if we're both involved it ain't our place.
Though I think if anyone's gonna forgive him first, it'll be her. She would understand Caim more than anyone.
[Mac could only try to understand so much after all.]
no subject
[Knuckles wasn't exactly on the same page as mac there. While he could handle working with Caim, he thought forgiveness was too broad of a term. Tolerance, maybe.]
Anyways, I'll let you know what I find out.
