If one looks around in the parking lot at just about any given time, there is a nice motorcycle parked, locked, and chained, absolutely and positively secured. At other times, the bike is not unattended, accompanied by a black hedgehog either preparing to take off with it or just wiping it down with a microfiber cloth, looking to keep its sheen.
During those times, Shadow seems particularly pleased. Accomplished. Why, yes, this is his pretty new motorbike that he spent a lot of time saving up for. It's not customized internally as much as he wanted it to be, but it will be tinkered with in due time to run like a champion.
Dare to bother him or his cute little hedgie-sized motorcycle? ]
(( the only thing i ask is to please not vandalize the bike without asking first, and even then, i might not be okay with it! ;w; just as a fair warning. however, touching it and doing stuff that won't damage it permanently is fine!

[ Shadow never did think he would be this into a mere vehicle, given that he was rarely ever materialistic, but once he saw the motorbikes on campus, he knew he had to get one. The fact that he had one now just... set his heart on fire. He was ecstatic.
He just hoped he'd be able to do everything he intended. Frankly, he wasn't sure if he'd be allowed to bring a motorcycle with soon-implemented machine guns on campus grounds.
... What? It's mainly for looks and intimidation. Sheesh. ]
Tell me what a 'land chaser' is supposed to be. [ NOTHING LIKE HIS PRETTY DARLING BIKE, HE'S SURE. ]

The exhilaration he felt as he flew down the roads.
But eventually he did have one of his own: a blue, aerodynamic model that was the color of his armor. He'd left it at home, but considering its sheer size (and where was he going to put it?), X felt that it was probably for the best. Still, if there was somewhere he could put it, maybe even just to wipe it down and admire it...]
A land chaser is an aerodynamic, single-to-dual-passenger hovercraft. They're often used as a simple transport in larger cities, but it's also popular to use for racing, both legal and...not so legal. They have many shapes, but usually land chasers are of a much more elongated shape, theoretically to increase the speed.
It's a lot like this, actually, in concept. Does this run on gasoline? Some Land chasers do, but others run on a plug-in, electrical engine, but they don't go as fast. I tend to prefer the gasoline-style engines myself, and there's even some more expensive models that work with both gasoline and energen, in hopes for them to have all the speed while still being good for the environment.
Mine isn't so fancy, though I'd been tweaking it here and there, when I had some free time...
[...wait, he did just spend his answer to a question rambling, didn't he.]
Erm, sorry. I didn't mean to get carried away. I guess I'm what you might call a fan.
[Others would call you a 'nerd', X.]

All of that rambling, though? Not quite as appreciated. He was fine with learning about its technology, but he preferred to keep conversations as condensed as possible while still learning everything important. ]
I can see that.
... Hear that, rather.
[ Shadow cocked a brow in his direction -- was that all really necessary? -- before he went back to his bike. It wasn't to wipe it down, however. Rather, it was to gently tap a finger onto the fuel tank, bringing it to X's attention, he hoped. ]
It runs on your typical motorcycle gasoline, powered by a large overhead valve, 45 degree V-twin engine with dual exhaust. It spends plenty of fuel, but its power is difficult to match.
[ He looked back up at him, his expression unchanged. See? That didn't take him long. ]
Yaaaay for Jen researching for tags!
It was almost as though he was drinking in every detail, taking in every line and curve and committing it to his memory files...which he was doing, essentially.]
Ah, a 'gas guzzler', as I've heard people call them. Still, you can't deny the results.
[Nor can Shadow deny the sheer look of awe that was on X's face while staring at the bike. The more he heard about it, the more impressed he was.]
I can safely assume that the horsepower's in the 60-range, and the top speed's over 115 miles per hour? Though knowing you, you'll probably make it much faster than that.
SAME HERE YO
In fact, maybe he could help speed up the process. The thought alone made him close to purring, yet he managed to control it, just barely.
He really, really liked this bike. ]
You are correct on all accounts. You sound as if you are skilled in mechanics yourself...
[ He smirks deviously, a fingertip trailing over his beautiful new ride's tank. ] You may be able to help me.
no subject
Still, he can't help but smile.]
I am, a little. I tinkered with my Land Chaser and read about stuff like this a lot back home.
[Though wait. Help? He wants X to help him in some manner with this amazing bike?
Shadow, you might as well have given him the entire set of Anpanman action figures with as much brightness were shining in his eyes at that moment. No, really. His clear pleasant surprise could create happiness lasers that could tear through solid steel.]
Really? What would you need help with?
no subject
...
That, and maybe it is kind of, sort of endearing and a little cute. ]
Simple. I am looking to install fully automatic firearms on each side -- in layman's terms, machine guns. I am seeking to upgrade the engine to the best type compatible with this bike's build, pushing it to its very limits with speed and power beyond any human's brain capacity.
[ He gives a chuckle, one that may or may not sound a little creepy and sinister. ] I am capable of doing this on my own, but with your help, the process will go by much quicker.
no subject
But...
Automatic firearms?
X frowns.
Why would he want something like that on it? Not only would it weigh it down, it might cause unnecessary damage to innocents if they so much as went off.
Self-defense? Why would he...]
Machine guns? Why? That's a little excessive for self-defense, don't you think?
[YEP. SELF-DEFENSE.]
Besides, they would weigh it down and take away from the max speed and maneuverability.
no subject
It is not simply a matter of self-defense. Clearly you have no idea how to add onto the style of a bike.
[ Oh.
Well, Shadow could still use X for quickening the process, but like hell was he going to rely on him for advice.
Whatever. He rolled his eyes and went down to wiping his handlebars. He didn't require advice in the first place, nor would he ever need it. ]
