[Video feed turns on, and a face that has been somewhat absent from the school this past month greets the screen. He is astoundingly disheveled, covered in a mossy beard, long, wild hair the usual facial piercings. For some reason he's also got monk's robes on? You can probably imagine he smells pretty strong right now too. Because he does. He smells overwhelmingly of flowers.

Vinnie's still a little out of breath and maybe a bit red in the face for some reason, but he's home. And looking a good deal happier than he did when he left in December.]

Al'right, I'm pretty sure I was gone at least 5 months, so... [He glanced at the calender on the computer.] Is this right? It's still Feburary here? Shit, no wonder nothing's blooming yet.

Uh, I dunno if you got all my letters then. Well. [Pause.] S'that mean there's another one of me runnin' around in Johto right now...?

[Time travel, you were really weird. But he wasn't going to think too hard on that right now. Vinnie shrugged and smiled.] I guess I'm back. Did I miss anything important? Has everyone been okay? Red? Where is everyone? I really miss the shit out've you guys.

((ooc note: thanks to Celebi, Vinnie's been 'ported back to school! His solo logs will, however, continue in 'real time.' So if he mentions something that hasn't happened to him in the logs... chronologically, it hasn't yet.))

[Well...more like she slammed into your window while you were busy networking, opened the window and while her entire frame and fat ass was stuck in the window, carefully pushed away all the plants so she would not know them over. This is much harder with a large stomach and tiny little arms.

Then, finally, she gave a final push to let herself in and landed ungracefully on the floor.]

[Oh geez he had arranged all those plants so that they got just the right amount of sun and didn't complain amongst themselves. You ruined the system he had going on there, man. Though to be fair, he was gonna have to rearrange them for these new plants he got for Christmas.

Anyway, that wasn't the important thing right now. The most important thing was that his sister was back and oh man he missed her. And he needs to hug you RIGHT NOW.]

Sis! Holy crap, that was fast!

[She would say hello or things about high but she still hadn't changed to her human form so instead he got the world's biggest lick on his face and it probably...OH ARCEUS]

[She turning into a human and touches her tongue with her right index finger.]

Thoth this theels lithe thall thather." (What this feels like wallpaper) she quickly removed her hand. "You have a beard!

[Sniff sniff]

You smell...like a fresh spring breeze.

[Did you get all of that? Eh who cares, you were getting another hug, as she rubbed her face in his facial hair.]

Haha! This is so neato!

[Phffght it was very hard to say anything when you were in his beard. But Vinnie nuzzled her back with a wide grin on his face.]

Mmph! So what, y'think I should keep the beard?

Goddamn, I missed you!

Haha! I suits you, but only keep it if you want it! Does it give you a sort of stumble as a 'Saur too?

[She stands back, beaming.]

Look at you! You look so nice and...and...you have a...dress!

Naw, I got nothin' when I change back.

[Vinnie looks down too, as though it were the first time he noticed that it wasn't actual pants he was wearing.]

This definitely's not a dress. It just... looks kinda like...

[Pause.]

Well they didn't have any other clothes for me t'wear, so screw it! Yeah, I have a damn comfy dress. [And he was totally proud of it.]

Nuts.

IT'S THE BEST DAMN COMFY DRESS EVER!

[Oh god with Vinnie his motivated and Sasha being motivated, they may have too much motivation in a single room.]

...wait who's they?

Oh! I stayed with some monks for a while. Everyone pretty much wore shit like this, so I didn't think too much've it being like a dress.

I mean, it's kinda like what Ko wears, just... he has pants.

So...monks are like Koko but only with...a..dress.

[Give her some slack it's not like Charizards have to learn about Monks and the Fire Dojo makes them train in Gi instead.]

A whole lot of Kojiros... That's actually kinda accurate.

Wasn't like your dojo though. No drills, but a shit ton of chores and meditating.

Did they make you cut meat too?

[It's not like she knew what type of place he went in. Maybe it was Poison Monks or something.]

Actually, they were all vegetarians! They had a garden an' everything too.

I helped 'em look after a lot of the sprouts. It was pretty great.

...did they make you cut the vegetables to eat too?

N... no.

I didn't do a lot of the cooking - probably cuz I didn't know what I was doin'. I mostly washed them. Peeled a lot've potatoes.

[Why this obsession with cutting food.]

Oh okay. [She held up her hand as if holding an invisible knife.] They taught me discipline when I cut up meats and vegetables. When you're afraid of holding a weapon it's a sign you're afraid of yourself and being a weapon, you know. It was...uh....they'd probably explain it better than me.

[Blink blink. So helpful there Sasha.]

Have the others contact you yet?

Being a weapon, huh. I guess that was pretty much how I felt when I got turned into a Ninetales.

Think of it this way. Fire's somethin' you get from what burns inside you. Grass is different - strength is something you get from being connected to life outside've you.

[He scratched his beard thoughtfully.]

You're the first one, seein' how Sonny's not back yet. Ko's probably working.

[And the other two were probably mad at him still.]

Letting your chi flow more efficiently right? In tune with the earth under you. I kinda had to so something familiar. They said something a Charizard forgets is that we walked on the ground for more than half of our lives and then when we take to the skies we forget how to use our feet.

[She held one up, wiggling her clawed foot]

That's why I don't ever wear anything! Sides, the claws would just tear up stuff that wasn't sandals.

[She paused to think about it, almost as if she heard his thoughts.]

...and Marie, I haven't seen him the last few days. Chika's pretty moody. But...she's always been moody. I think she's bottling something up.

It's probably similar. We get strength from the sun, same as you guys. And there's heat inside the earth too...

Fire has more in common with Grass than everyone thinks.

[Oh boy, family dysfunction. Vinnie gave a loud sigh.]

I'll try talkin' t'them... I need to apologize for leaving, anyway.

Thanks for takin' care of everyone while I was away. Can't've been easy.

Maybe. But it's something a family does for each other, you know? Just like I knew you'd come back eventually.

[Vinnie chuckled and gave a warm smile in response.]

Thanks for trustin' me. Even if I didn't trust myself at the time.

[She grinned back]

I know how that is. I think it's when I realized how you guys are kinda like pillars all around me that I really got stronger.

Pillars, huh? I can live with bein' a pillar.

Well...

[She grins mischievously]

You can be more than one when you're a Venusaur, ha ha ha...

[It wasn't too long ago when they used to throw insults at each other every minute. Sometimes even the oldest habits could reappear from time to time.]
