[Mass E-mail]
Hello, Smash Academy! I'm, um... new here. My name is Oren (^_^)/. I'm a Sylveon. A recent transfer from Capcom High, pretty new in town, you know...
Okay, listen ( ̄□ ̄;)I'm skipping the pleasantries and just cutting to the chase. I noticed that the coffee shop my ex-classmates recommended to me is boarded up and "closed until further notice." That's creepy enough on its own, but the earthquakes don't help anything.
But I need coffee. I mean, GOOD coffee. The swill in the cafeteria is garbage. Please tell me there's another coffee shop open somewhere else. Anybody?

I rarely spend money on coffee shops, but when I do, there's only one place I'll go. They do a nice cup of tea, too, if you're more in the mood for tea. I can send you the address, if you'd like?
no subject
Address, yes! Please!! Soon!! Σ(0д0)
Oh, but... it's not close to any construction yards, right...? I have a bit of a sensitivity to dust.. (ˇ﹏ˇ)
no subject
[...interesting way to refer to yourself there, lad.]
Not that I'm aware of. I can accompany you, if you'd like. It's actually not too far and I've a few routes we can take if we run across anything too dusty.
[Getting out of the dorm might be good for him.]

Where can I meet up with you?

My name is Jon, by the by. Jon Talbain. I'm the Martial Arts teacher at this school, and a Trainer.
no subject
[aaaaa did he say he's a trainer?!? aw shiiiit!]
[Action!]
He spotted someone very pink outside dorm BE-09.]
Oren?
[Action]
And then he heard his name.
"Oh, Jon. Yes, it's me." He reached out his hand to shake, holding it as still as he could despite the uncontrollable shakiness. "I'm Oren. Pleased to meet you. Coffee? Coffee is where, now?"
Re: [Action]
...but BE-09 was definitely a boy's dorm. Huh.
"Charmed." he replied. "Follow me - it's only a bit of a walk into town. Coffee shops tend to do well near colleges."
Kids cramming for tests or staying awake through long date nights, or trying to sober up after a long date night so they could take tests. Caffeine is one hell of a drug.
"So, you went to CapHigh, eh? Transferred here from there myself several years ago."
no subject
"I did! I spent my first two years of high school there. It's fine, I suppose, but the atmosphere didn't suit me. I'm not a hundred-percent sure this place is any different, but there was too hostile an atmosphere there. Too hostile for me, anyway. Did you graduate?"
He was sure to keep a decent distance as he walked beside the werewolf. This man was a trainer. Trainers were never to be trusted. Who knows what kind of stuff he'd pull if given the chance?
no subject
He remembered that Capcom High COULD be a little hostile. He'd had a hard time there, but then again, he'd given as good as he'd gotten and was plenty hostile in his own right. He'd mellowed in his time here. Considerably.
"You'll find Smash to be a far more forgiving environment. There are a lot of Pokémon here, too. Excellent trainers from different regions. The food is top notch too, despite the frankly dismal coffee. Made and served by an Ursaring."
no subject
Oren nodded as he walked along, listening intently.
"Mmmn. Cafeteria food from an Ursaring?" He smirked and raised an eyebrow. "This place is weirder than I thought! In a good way, though, I suppose.
And then he frowned. Scowled, even. He couldn't help it.
"...I must admit, I haven't had good experiences with trainers in the past. The thought of them being numerous here puts me on edge." Great. How many times is he going to have to deal with trainers walking by and yelling at their pokemon to attack him? He just wanted to be left alone...
no subject
"You know, I hear that more often than I'd like." he replied. "There are several Pokémon here who have had poor experiences with trainers. You can rest assured that the trainers here are of a superior caliber, and your rights as a person come before anything else. You'll not be randomly set upon by anyone and their team. And if anyone tries... let me know."
Jon took Pokémon rights pretty seriously.
no subject
"Thanks. That's reassuring, at least. ..A little. Forgive me if I'm not that easy to forgive and trust when it comes to trainers."
He squirmed a little. How many times had he heard that before? Not word-for-word, he admitted, but the same sentiment. He was realizing this resentment went deeper than he originally thought.
As they approached the taller buildings, Oren took the opportunity to change the subject.
"So, where is this amazing coffee shop of yours?"
no subject
He smiled at Oren. He could literally blather about his team All Day if you let him so luckily the subject was changed.
"It's two blocks ahead, one block to the east. Not far. They also serve tea cakes and over priced breakfast type foods, if you're of a mind to have something to eat."
no subject
Oh well. He could mull it over later. Coffee was imminent!
"Ooo, I could go for a morning bun, or a coffee cake!!" His mood was visibly lighter at this point, what with him nearly bouncing around as they walked on. Jon had said the magic words! "Have you ever had a Crumble Coffee Cake? They're to die for!"
Sorry for the late tag, back from Hiatus!
"Ah, no. I'm really not much of one for sweets - they do a ham and egg croissant here which I quite like." he replied. "But in the main, I come here for the coffee."
It wasn't far, now.Jon's sensitive nose could pick up the scent easily.
"...also, I'm allergic to chocolate."
S'all good!
"... Allergic?" he exclaimed. "So you haven't tried the... the Café Mocha?! You poor soul! Mochas are ambrosia for the modern world!" He genuinely felt bad for the werewolf, but as much as he meant what he said, he also realized how ridiculous the statement was. He grinned lightly. Thinking it over, Jon's allergy made sense, what with him being wolf-like and all.

Hey, when you have to do like four hours of Kung Fu before 9:00am it pays to be super awake!
They arrived and Jon grabbed the door. Ladies first and all that chivalrous nonsense that was in vogue back in the 1940s.
no subject
"Thanks," he smiled graciously as he stepped into the shop, thinking. "Mmm, you smell that? It smells like
victoryHAPPY is what it smells like is what it smells like!"He stepped in line. There was maybe... ten people in front of them.
"Ugh," he grunted under his breath. He hopped in place anxiously. "Look at this line. I hope these people hurry it up...!"
no subject
Hopefully none of the bleary eyed teenagers in line ahead of them were about to prove him wrong.
"So, what do you enjoy beyond coffee? By way of food, I mean. Pokéblocks? Poképuffs?"

Sorry about the scent in the dorm. I was testing a rub-on sample of perfume and it... well, it wasn't good. I'll crack the windows at night until it goes away, if that's okay with you.

What would you recommend? I'm kind of dying here... (╥_╥)
no subject
Well, there's a place down by the mall, it's close to this bubble tea shop Vinnie showed me before. There's a Starbeans branch down the street...
no subject
Say, um... You're a Jolteon, aren't you?
no subject
Yeah, I am. Name's Jolt.
