Dance ♌ 01 / [Video]

[There's nothing quite like being pushed along and having your shrieks be ignored.

'This will be your room,' they said.
'Classes aren't in session right now, but they will be in a few months,' they said.
'Take the time to enjoy the summer and get to know everyone first, they said.

But no one's explained what exactly is going on, where Lord Chrom is, or the other Shepherds. In fact, no one's really explained much of anything that truly makes sense.

She stares at her computer and the video feed, mostly clueless. She doesn't really know how to use anything she's looking at. Finally seating herself, she's still for many moments before her head suddenly turns and there's the audible sound of her chair rapidly scooting across the floor. A mess of limbs flies up and she introduces herself by way of a screech.]

EEK!
Stay back! I'll—I—I have a sword and I know how to use it!

[It could be a bug. A pikmin. It could be nothing at all. The world may never know.]

[New faces that look kind of confused by computers aren't exactly an unexpected and unusual thing on the network. People come here from all over, after all, no matter when or where. Terrified screams, though? Less ordinary. No idea what room this lady's in, so Alorah's stuck with the video screen.]

Um! Are you alright? Do you need help?

[Henry LAUGHS. LAUGHS. This is the BEST post for so many reasons, and he is elated. Genuinely elated.

An Olivia who knew him might have been proud of that genuine display, actually. It was totally unintended.]

Olivia! You can't hit anybody with a sword through the screen, silly~!

[He waves at her.]

[Things that make noise are just enough to put Olivia into panic mode. The thought of being addressed through what seems like a window is just enough to set her even more off.]

Ah! Uhm!

[She hunches over and peeks over the edge of her chair at the screen.]

How... long have you been watching?

Oh, not long at all, I promise! Please don't feel bad.

[Yes, this must be someone very unfamiliar with this place. This poor soul seems really frazzled! The last thing Alorah wants to do is make things worse, so she does her best to sound as soothing as she can.]

Is everything okay over there?

[For the longest time--which is really just a few moments--Olivia simply stares over the edge of her chair which she's chosen to hide behind at him. Who is this boy...?]

...Uhm. I'm sorry. Who are you?

Yes--I mean, no. I mean.

[She pulls her hands over her face with some clear uncertainty.]

I'm not really supposed to be here. I'm not. I don't see why I am. They said it was a... fighting... school? I can't really fight, though.

[In such a vulnerable moment, Henry's face faltered dramatically. But he put on his smile again in almost an instant. The smile that he tries for.]

Ahaha, oops. Maybe it's pretty dark, huh~... It's me, Henry.

[Henry tried to adjust the computer so that the light was hitting his face better, like that was the problem. But he was just fine before. He pressed an index finger against his face.]

Seeeee? See?

I see... did you come here by accident, then? That seems to happen sometimes.

Um, but please don't be worried. I can't really fight either, but this is a very nice place to stay. Besides, you said you had a sword, right?

[That must imply she's got some skill, doesn't it? Enough that she'll hopefully feel a bit more secure here, at least.]

[Mmmmmmnope. Still doesn't ring a bell. She leans over and in to get a better look and after reconsidering, Olivia frowns prominently.]

Henry? Did you see one of my performances in Ferox? I'm sure I'd remember you if I knew who you were.

[Seriously. How many platinum-haired boys with squinty eyes exist?]

By accident? Yes, that must be it! So if I came here by accident, I can go home by accident, right?

[You'd think that was how it worked out, but something tells her that probably won't be the case this time around.]

And yes, I do, but I can't really use it well.

[He laughs again. Idly, as he thinks. It's an airy, hollow laugh - typical of him. How could she forget him? What happened? Would this be an act? No, he didn't think so... The way she said his name was too experimental. It was unnerving.]

...You must be cursed. Yes, that's right! An amnesia curse. I can dispel it for you right away! Just tell me where you are and I'll do away with it like a bad dream~!

[He acts like he's sure of his explanation, but he doesn't seem to believe in it.]

[Usually if someone wants to know where she is and she doesn't know them, they're probably not good people. Now would be a really good time for Chrom or Basilio to step in and back her up.

At least she has a sword. Not that she's got the confidence to start swinging it around.]

If I'm cursed, it's because I'm here. Can you just tell me how to get back to Plegia?

[That's probably a 'no.']

[Curious. He didn't recall any of the Shepherds wanting to go to Plegia after the battle with Grima.]

Why do you wanna go to Plegia, anyway? You're not from Plegia. Heck, I didn't think any of the Shepherds would want to set foot in Plegia ever again.

[She will not, in fact, know.]

[He points at himself once again, like it would suddenly clear everything up.]

I told you, I'm Henry. You guys met me...

[Something we needed to take care of in Plegia. Well, it wouldn't be the first time time travel was involved. Was it possible that she hadn't, in fact, met him at all? That she was from his past? Henry, being strange as he is, doesn't have too much of a hard time getting himself to accept this possibility. He lowers his hand.]

Ahhhh~ What's the use. I don't think you have ever met me. But I've met you! Still, I have an idea: I'll pretend I don't know you and we can start over!

[He can't actually pretend that, but for the sake of his idea, he would say it.]

Sooo, mystery lady, I'm Henry! Nice to meetcha. I'm a dark mage from Plegia.

[Like calling himself a native of Plegia would not be alarming.]

[From the beginning he's made her nervous. His overwhelming enthusiasm. His seemingly carefree nature. The concept that he knows her without her knowing him. The idea that he's just going to quickly put that aside and try to start over.

The fact that he's from Plegia.

And just like that, she's behind her chair again.]

You're from Plegia?? And you know who the Shepherds are?

[It isn't very hard to play Connect the Dots.]

You did something to--ah--Lord Chrom and the others, didn't you? You're the reason we're separated!

[Unsurprisingly, Yarne's reaction to a loud scream and someone threatening him with a sword, is to immediately scream in turn, and hide under his desk, kind of forgetting that the images on the screen can't actually hurt him. Way too busy panicking right now to remember that.]

Don't kill me!! I'll stay as far back as you like, just put the sword away!

[Wait. She's supposed to be the one screaming. Why is he screaming?

Fortunately for Yarne, this is a great way to get her to stop.]

Wait... What? I wasn't going to use it on you...

[Yarne nervously pops back out from his desk. He knows what his father looks like, and he'd obviously know his mother if he saw her, but other than them, he wouldn't recognize any of the other Shepards.]

W-well... don't go shouting about swinging swords around, then! You nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought I was extinct for sure!

I didn't mean to scare you. I was just--I... W-well, I was caught by surprise. I'm not really good with my sword anyway, so I probably would have missed!

[As she's eying Yarne, she's noting something particular. He looks a lot like someone she's acquainted to. What was her name again? P-something...]

That doesn't really change things! Whether you're skilled or not, all it'd take is one unlucky cut, and just like that, my race is history! No more Taguel!

[The big, floppy bunny ears and fur covering a good chunk of his body were pretty reminiscent of her, yeah.]

No, no. That's not true at all. I know a Taguel woman. Not very well and she's sort of intimidating, but I travel with her. Traveled... something like that.

So you see, you're not the only... Taguel. Where are you from, anyway? I don't really know anything about them.

...Wait, you know my mother??? Because she's the only other Taguel there could be!

Do you know where she's at now?? Her name should be 'Panne', if it's really her!

R-right! That's her name. Quiet, sort of somber woman. She's not very friendly. She was with Lord Chrom and the others in Plegia.

[She pauses.]

Well, before I showed up here anyway. You mean to say she's your mother? You two look like you're about the same age!

[But who knows how the Taguel really age.]

That sounds kinda like her, yeah... Although Dad's descriptions tended to sound a lot more positive.

Well I... kind of am, yeah. It's complicated, but I'm basically from the future...?
