AREA: DORM TD-19
[The video feed turns on. A somewhat familiar face came onscreen, though most would only recognize him as 'that broken robot that Knuckles was keeping on his couch.' Looks like he's fully functional again, and possessing the same emotive range as he did while offline.]
I'm Zero. Starting now, I'll be on security detail.
[There was a pause. It seemed like he was more or less finished with introductions, but there was something else on his mind kept him from turning off the camera. After a beat, he continued.]
The database tells me that Knuckles is no longer here.
...
There's someone else... There was a blue reploid that called himself X. I need to know what happened to him.
...Thanks.
[End transmission.]

Glad to see you here. I admit, I'm not proud about what happened at Prom... the fact that we didn't see it coming, I mean.
[And also the fact that he wound up tying up the giant robot in satin banners and floral prom garlands to immobilize it. He's not really proud of that either. However, that's besides the point.]
My point is, I'm glad to see a dedicated security officer that isn't pulling double-duty as a member of faculty.

No one's claimed responsibility for the attack so far. I've been informed there's been dangerous activity in the school basement as well. Is there a pattern to these occurrences that I should be aware of?

They'd come out of the basement in a swarm for a few days; generally screwed up anything that ran on electricity that they could reach. A bunch of us went down to investigate: Connor, a few others and myself. Personally I was of the idea that they were being chased out by something down there; but we didn't find anything to support that.
Then, that big robotic ape that attacked prom turned out to actually be made of the things; we broke off chunks, and the chunks dissolved into them. I'm still not sure why the hell the bugs were up here in the first place, OR why the Great Ape decided to crash prom, but I'm beginning to think it's something we're up to that's aggravating them.

I see... That's the most thorough grasp of the threat I've heard so far. What would you need me to do in order to form a complete analysis?

I'd also heard rumors of those bugs bringing to life strange statues in the basement. I've not actually seen this; but I've got a reliable source.
[Say what you will about Ishimaru, but Gordon's never actually known him to lie.]
I'd like to get a hold of one of those statues. Figure out just what they have to do with all of this. I'll settle for a simple scan or any kind of data I can get my hands on, if that's not possible. Just watch yourself; those things are hostile when they start to move.

Understood. I'd like to be able to talk to this source directly for a first hand account of any mission relevant data, if that's possible.
I hope I can count on you for backup as well, Mister...?

[Just say the word... boss.]
The student's name is Kyotaka Ishimaru. He and a friend of his had gone down into the tunnels to investigate. Ishimaru was head of the disciplinary committee, whatever that means, and he's earnest to a fault, so I can say with confidence that he couldn't have been lying.

[Just a physics teacher? If he helped with security, there was probably more to him than met the eye. Gordon looked human enough... the fact that he agreed so easily to work with a robot was a bit of a surprise. Not an unpleasant one, just something Zero wasn't quite used to. Maybe human scientists were simply more accommodating that way.]
Seth... the last time I was here, he had gone to war with Dr. Eggman. I'm surprised people still seem to be welcoming of reploid security after what the machines did to the city.

If you hold the well-being and freedom of the students first, then you're already more advanced than anything Eggman can make.

[Just thinking about Eggman put Zero on edge. His eyes narrowed - there was obviously some bad blood there.]
I've got my own bone to pick with him, for reprogramming me... but that can wait.

[He has to stop himself from adding "too" to that. Shit. Him AND Vivian... If it weren't for that copy of her original programming he snuck her around christmas, she'd probably still be completely loyal to him.]
The man's a menace, that much is for sure, but you're right. He's a topic or another day.
L...ATE...
I've been told they may be attracted to machines, so I may be a liability facing them in enclosed spaces. But I will make sure you get your data. If it comes to it, I will be your decoy.

[He snorts a laugh.]
You just GOT here, after all; let's try to avoid putting you into sleep mode involuntarily for at least a week.

[He was totally still contemplating it though. Totally definitely.]
