Hey! … Listen, I don't want to tip toe around this or anything. There's a guy I like a lot, and fairly recently we decided we wanted to try giving going out a shot. If you'd be up for it, I'd really ilke you to meet him? (You already know him though.) Maybe we could meet up some time…?


[And then eventually, after dargon business went down, a series of other private network text posts were made from both of Bulba's and Vinnie's accounts. Wow. Gosh.]

So…! I recently kind of started seeing someone, though uh… maybe you'd already heard. Anyway I'd really like to introduce him to you, even though you actually already know him. Do you think we could hang out some time?

[Bulba was already there, negotiating for a large table with the hostess. They didn't need that big of a table, she had been telling him. No, you see, our friend is coming and he is very large, do you know Max Powers? Oh how the color had left her face. Oh how his buffet darkening frame darkened the buffet as he came through the door.

Yes she would go prep a large table for them that was fine it would be this many dollars for their meals thank you.]

[Oh it turns out that they have a special booth for emergencies (ie. Maximilian Justice Powers and Sunshine Mortimer), please come this way. The waitress, not recognizing the Venusaurs, awkwardly tried to inquire if the two of them were exceptional eaters as well, to which Vinnie reassured her of his party pooper vegan appetite.

Was that the sound of a frame being darkened?]

Hey. Why don't you... uh, start fillin' your plate while the table's gettin' ready?

Hey, Bulba. Vinnie. Yeah, I'm gonna go grab some plates and drinks. Be back in a couple of minutes.

::One plate of chicken breasts, one plate of steaks, one plate of salmon, one plate of steamed veggies, one plate of brown rice, six glasses of milk, and four glasses of tomato juice then appeared on the table in rapid succession and the guy whose job it was to keep the protein filled started crying into his apron::

[It had only taken Bulba about a minute to grab himself an apple juice and a small bowl of melon, which he kept to a small, unobtrusive corner of the table.]

... You guys must clear the whole place out when it's you and Sonny.

Yeah, pretty much.

::Max sets a bowl of peanut butter in front of where Vinnie will be sitting, and pulls a protein bar out of his pocket and sets it next to the bowl.::

[Vinnie eyed the peanut butter and protein bar as he sat down with his lemonade and bowl of oranges.]

You're worse than my mom.

Your mom ain't in charge of your weight liftin'.

There ain't no protein in anything you got; I knew there wouldn't be. Can't build good muscle on fruit.

Maybe cuz I knew you'd be micromanaging my diet.

[Whatever, he'd just get this protein bar out of the way and eat it first. Vinnie tore open the wrapper and... dipped it in peanut butter, because what kind of weirdo just eats peanut butter by itself.]

[Dogs. Bret.

Bulba eyed the peanut butter combo, popping a cube of melon in his mouth. It was his turn to kind of feel like an outsider to the table, though it felt like he shouldn't have. It felt like nothing had really changed, and that's probably why it felt awkward, because many things had.

So he sat quietly, unsure how to participate anymore.]

::Max, meanwhile, is shoving chicken breasts into his face at a fantastic rate, with occasional pauses to wash it down with glasses of milk.:

Even if I weren't here, you wouldn't eat nothin' good for you. S'how you always are. You'd have an apple and call it quits.

::Back to eating the chicken breasts.::

[Vinnie sighed. Every time it was the same old thing with Max. He glanced over at Bulba, noting how the other Saur had gone quiet.]

Look, can we get back on topic? Bulba an' I wanted t'tell you something.

::It's the same old thing because it's been 3 years and you still don't know how to eat right, Vinnie. Max looked up from his devouring of chickens and, swallowing too quickly so that it hurt his throat spoke::

Yeah, sure. Go ahead.

[Max that's not how Venusaurs work.

At any rate, Bulba just went ahead and calmly blurted out:]

We're dating.

Just so you know.

::Oh they're dating so that's...::

::Max coughed up about half of a chicken breast.::

YOU'RE DATING?

::Bulba do you remember when you took Max to this very restaurant to tell him that you were gay and his reaction was to tell the entire restaurant that you were gay in a loud voice? Yeah, it's that again.::

[Yes, he remembers this vividly. At least this time the announcement is nothing that is meant to be hush hush, so it's okay if the whole restaurant knows.]

Uh-huh.

[Another piece of melon went into his mouth.]

[No one told him this story. Vinnie just went along with Bulba's suggestion to do this at the buffet. But Max has a habit of yelling a lot of things, so he couldn't say he was especially surprised.

Vinnie took another bite of his peanut butter covered bar.]

Yeah.

[Here he'll give you a run down while Max handles not dying on his chicken breasts.]

::Max looks from Vinnie to Bulba and back several times::

[Vinnie looked at Bulba with a raised brow of suspicion.]

Is that why you picked this place?

[He took on a sheepish smile towards Vinnie.]

It's kind of nostalgic, I guess.

[And to Max:]

Definitely dating.

I don't. But. I know Bulba's gay. But. Vinnie I thought you... weren't? Or... were you? I don't.

::Max is having difficulty processing this information. You're going to need to give him some time to get through it all.::

Uh... [How was he supposed to respond to that? Vinnie wrestled with the peanut butter stuck to the inside of his mouth a bit before replying.]

Turns out I'm al'right either way? I mean, I've liked girls before - not that it's ever come up with you, by the way - but...

[He glanced over at Bulba, as though meeting his eyes would help give the older Saur a surge of clarity in his words - though he only really just managed to turn slightly pink instead.]

...It's new t'me too. I just know that after everything, I care about'im - all of him - too much t'be scared of that.

[Bulba had been looking in Vinnie's direction a bit, slightly unsure as to how he'd answer. In a way he still felt a little... not bad, per se, but he wasn't sure how okay it was that he had shifted Vinnie's perceptions. Despite all the people they had told, this was the only time the preference had been addressed.

What he got just made him go red. Oh, Vinnie...

Under the table, the older saur got a gentle knee squeeze as Max continued to churn his processors.]

I'm sorry, you just gotta give me a minute to think through this. I been inside of Bulba's body before. But that was back when he was a Bulbasaur and not a Venusaur so he was like... a 10 year old back then, I guess... so now all I can imagine is me as him back then makin' out with the now-you and...

::Max trailed off, thinking about himself as Bulbasaur Bulba making out with regular-type Vinnie. It wasn't doing much for him.::
