Another spate of transformations. How strange is it that such things have become mundane.

No matter. Those who have found themselves changed, report to me for study. I wish to isolate on a molecular level how these changes are possible. For that purpose I will be using the laboratory. Alert me as to when you are able to meet there. If you are unable to for any reason, I will come to you; however I do not accept embarassment or things akin to it as legitimate reasons.

Well, no. I said nothing about your overall plan. I don't think there's another way to put it, Cyrus. Call it what you will, but the opportunity has presented itself and you've taken it.

Although I find myself wondering where you'll draw the line for this research of yours. Or if there's a line at all.

If you wish it, I will permit you to attend. Though the limit of my actions now is simply to gather bodily samples such as skin and hair. These are obtained painlessly and violate no moral code.

It isn't something I need to be involved with. I trust you'll do all you say and more. I have no doubt of that. But our views differ greatly on where a boundary should be placed, and that could potentially be due to our variations as man and beast.

Tell me then, Voile. If you awoke to discover that your body had dramatically changed form, can you tell me in honesty that you would not seek to understand why? That you would view with suspicion anybody who did?

This is not a matter of humans versus other beings and should not be confused for such. This is purely an issue of transformation and the potential scientific causes of such a thing. Have you known me to treat you or any others differently in that regard?

I can honestly say that asking 'why' would not be first and foremost in my mind. The 'why' would make little difference as a first impression. Naturally 'hows' and 'whys' are involved, but anyone with some common sense is going to have the initial reaction of 'change me back.'

Which would really be my prerogative. I can ask 'how' or 'why' I became something after the source of the problem was dealt with. But alas, that is sentiment, not scientific logic. The scientist always wants to know the 'hows' and 'whys' with no regard to the experimented piece.
