Another spate of transformations. How strange is it that such things have become mundane.

No matter. Those who have found themselves changed, report to me for study. I wish to isolate on a molecular level how these changes are possible. For that purpose I will be using the laboratory. Alert me as to when you are able to meet there. If you are unable to for any reason, I will come to you; however I do not accept embarassment or things akin to it as legitimate reasons.

[ Embarrassed, Chili looks away and pants. Like a dog. Almost like he can't help it. ]

Okay! [ Chili hurriedly gestures for Pansear to shut off the feed, and he complies. ]

[ACTION]

[ For the first time all day, Chili makes his way inside and waits. He seems uncomfortable in the room, probably because he's causing the room to rise in temperature - fast. ]

[this time, Cyrus is there ahead of his test subject. He's got some petri dishes and microscope slides all ready]

Chili, yes? I will require...

[He stops, glancing around for a moment]

I see. Your transformation involves something more complex. I will require more than what is provided here, though we will use this as a beginning. Now, I ask that you open your mouth.

[He's got one of those long swabs held up, the kind used to test for strep and that ALWAYS make the patient gag]

[ For now, Chili will comply, though he seems uncertain. ] Okay...? [ He opens his mouth, but doesn't like the appearance of that swab very much. ]

[aaaand POKE to the back of the throat. Though the swab is immediately removed and placed in the petri dish, likely the sensation of its presence will linger for some time]

[ A little known fact about Chili is that he had one of those strong gag reflexes, and it was lucky that Cyrus was quick to poke the back of his throat. After getting over the gag reflex (and luckily, not puking), Chili coughs and rubs his hand over his throat. ]

G-Geez, did that have to be necessary?! Are you trying to test me for whooping cough or something, 'cause I'm sure I don't have that! [ He coughs again, uncomfortable due to the sensation. ]

You have been transformed into a fire type. The majority of fire types produce flame from within their bodies. Ergo, the throat is a source of information in this situation.

[something in his expression indicated that he thought this was obvious]

Wait, fire type? You mean, a Pokémon? Am I turning into a Pokémon?! I thought I already ruled that out!

[ Chili gestures to the markings on his face and the cherry red fire dancing on his skin, an uncertain expression on his face. ]

I don't recognize any of this, so it's no Pokémon I know of...

[Cyrus stopped, looking Chili up and down]

Hm. Something nearly identical. Perhaps you are a similar creature. In any case, you have properties in common with fire type pokémon, even if you are not one.

Well, that much I can tell. [ Again, out of irritation, Chili coughs and rubs his throat with his paw. He wishes it were a hand rather than a paw... ]

Okay, what else do I have to do? I don't want to burn down the building!
