The people who say that don't know shit. There's nothing to be gained from trying t'isolate yourself. Bein' lonely and cynical's a worse poison than loss, and it'll turn you into something ugly in the end. Whatever you get from your friendships, that's worth keeping - and that's part of your friends' legacy too. You become the person you are cuz they're inside you.

I've only known a few gods that've come to the school, and they've definitely been around... seen their loved ones go. I don't think they age, either. I couldn't tell you if it's any different being a god to whatever you are.

I ain't exactly immortal, but I have died once, if you wanna put that in my credentials. I remember a whole other life where I lived angry an' alone, and I remember all the regrets I had when it all ended. My friends saved me from all that.
