Duster Proposes a Proposition
I know I'm normally just the band teacher, but I wondered if anyone here might be interested in a special class on "breakdancing."
If there were enough interest, I think I might be able to do a beginner's introduction to breaking, just to teach people some of the basic downrock and power move forms.
It would help if you have some gymnastics experience, but anyone with good upper body strength can pick it up. It's a lot of fun and a good workout.
If somebody can show me how to post a video... or record a video... with one of these computers, I could post a video of me breaking.
[EDIT, after Kuma shows Duster how to upload a video of himself to the school's intertubes]:
This is totally a video of Duster.

[As in dancing on tables.]
Are we allowed to wear speedos?

Because once you get into 6-step and you know how to do it well, you're swinging your legs around pretty quickly, especially with windmills. And a lot of the more advanced moves require some body contortion.
I'd recommend pants, to be frank. To keep your stuff where you want it, and to keep your legs from getting too beat up for when you mess up a move and go skidding across the ground.

[Well, he spent most of his time with noi pants to begin with. However, he'd play it Duster's way.]
Alright - fine - I'll wear some bike shorts. Those are kind of the long-pants version of speedos to begin with.

Why? Have you had bad experiences with linoleum and fur before?

Of course not!
I sing!

Do you think you're more suited for woodwinds, percussion or strings?

I can help with the camera thing!

[ACT...ION... a few minutes later??]
::OH MY::
Hey, Kuma. Thanks. I'm not very good with computers.

[She just wants to watch you shake your butt, Duster.]

Okay, it's over here.
::He points her to a computron machine. Next to it, a pile of dirty socks.::

You might wanna, uh, clear some space if you're gonna be dancing. How many socks do you own, anyway?

Yyyyeah. I'll get the camera set up while you set the stage, okay?

I think I have enough room now. Maybe I should sweep the floor... but I don't have a broom...

[Isn't dancing on one's head bad for humans? And spinning around like that?]
no subject
Those were just some head spins. That's sort of advanced, though.

And if you lose your balance you can hurt your neck doing it. Headspins aren't recommended for beginners. Maybe I should have just done something more foundational.

Why are my skills mad?

Re: audio
Look, I'm sorry I got all hostile back there a second ago, Duster. I should have stopped getting so defensive about how I can't read. Made a total jerk outta myself. If anyone has 'mad skills' around here, it's me. And by that, I mean 'skilled at getting mad'.
t-text??
I don't. Okay.
Uh, if you need help learning how to read I could teach you? If you don't have anyone that can teach you how to read. I don't know how good of a reading teacher I'd be, but I could try it. You can do anything if you try.

I dunno... Sounds like a lot of trouble to go through. I'm kind of a handful. I mean, I tried teaching myself one day and I couldn't even tolerate myself!
