[Video feed shows a pot of gracidea flowers upon an otherwise empty windowsill. And no green-haired willowy girl in sight, but she can at least heard.]

I think it's a little interesting how something can be gone and consequently missing, and yet sometimes it can still be present. I planted these with Professor Cyrus almost two years ago. These flowers, I mean. And I remember the day that I did vividly, because it was one of those times that we were arguing.

We don't really ever forget the people we crossed paths with, I guess, even when we want to. After all, there are things I want to forget too. But I'm beginning to think that I'm going about it the wrong way. Instead of wanting to escape a past, or to pretend people from the past don't exist, I think I should at least be embracing the time I spent with them while they were here.

[It doesn't take a genius to put together that she means both Sonny and Cyrus when she speaks. Except those who didn't know either.]

It's better to be thankful than it is to be held back. Smash Academy, can you tell me what you're thankful for? It doesn't have to be a person. It can be a thing, an ideal, a belief - whatever you want. I'm simply curious.

Sometimes... whether it's a person or a part of yourself you don't like... you have to embrace it before you can part ways with it. What I'm thankful is that there's always a friend who'd still accept you and be supportive....

I agree one hundred percent! After all, it's the people we meet and the things we do in our lifetimes that shape us into who we are! To forget any of them is to forget ourselves, isn't that right?

Therefore, I am thankful for every moment of my life!

[Voile abruptly moves her video feed and she leans into her camera, settling her chin into the palm of her hand.]

I'm fine. I was feeling a little nostalgic. [She gets the feeling he can understand that more than she wishes to admit.]

I'm sure your team, your family, is thankful for you too. Everyone needs a family, after all. If you don't have that, you may not have much. Family gives you hope, optimism, and faith in yourself best of all.

[ The look that crosses his face is unsure, uncertain, maybe filled with a small amount of distaste, before he speaks again, eyes shutting. ]

I am thankful for many things. Namely... I am thankful for the safety of all of the Pokemon in our academy.

[Voile nods after she moves into view of her feed.]

I believe so, yes. His classroom was empty the last time I passed by and I have not heard a peep out of him for some time. Perhaps he finally decided what he was searching for he could not find here.

[Which makes plenty of sense to her. After all, she couldn't save him.]

I dunno. Memories seem as fragile as anythin' else. Least when they're around, they seem invincible... but they break, too. For good or bad though, they make us who we are. It bears hangin' onto.

For now, I'm thankful my friends an' family are safe and healthy. An' I'm thankful for peaceful days, whenever they are.

I think memories are invincible, but the sentiments they invoke in us are what are truly fragile.

[Voile's expression contorts a bit and she tips her head to the side.] I hear you and agree, but sometimes I think there are memories I don't want to hold onto, in spite of whatever brief good there might have been. That must sound selfish of me.

[Her posture straightens.] I haven't seen you for a while. How are you doing?

The things I'm grateful for...

The thing I'm most thankful are are my friends. I wouldn't be here without them, and that's no exaggeration! They definitely saved me, not just Sonic. Even if there were hard times, like you and Mr. Cyrus probably had, I'm glad we went through everything we did-- what doesn't kill us makes us stronger! I know, I'll always be there to support my friends no matter what the future holds!

[If anything, this has proven to be a most educational journey for Voile. New people, and all. Or she simply hasn't been able to pay attention to Smash's network as of recent. But this girl, a single look at her, and Voile immediately thinks of Knuckles.

And Voile has a little something with regards to intuition.]

How very optimistic of you. I think a lot of people in the academy could benefit from a viewpoint like that. You sound very inspired and very passionate. [She smiles.] I am rather touched by it.

Yes.

It was before you had come, Cammy. Professor Cyrus and I were close, at the time, and often did little things like that together. But I think while I always enjoyed them, he failed to see the beauty in things like that. A bit of a shame, in hindsight.

...I'm thankful that everyone here seems to be on equal footing. I'd like to say that everyone's treated the same as humans are back home, but... it doesn't always work out like that.

It hasn't admittedly, always been that way. [She thinks back to the whole Pokémon versus humans things. And she still thinks they're not exactly equal and they likely never will be.] It was worse before, though. We can only improve. I think it's wonderful to be thankful for such an ideal, however.

I'm thankful of lots of things. But I guess what I'm thankful for now is that you can rely on your friends, and they can rely on you - like a trust that doesn't have to be spoken, but shown. Because I don't know what I would do without them sometimes. And yet I still feel like I'm a major part of what we all do together. If that makes sense, I guess. [He scratches the back of his head nervously. That came out rather awkwardly.]
