Goodness, I am terribly sorry, everyone. It appears as though my entry never made it to the network back when I first arrived. I thought it did... There's a chance I never got around to finishing it, though. It is no wonder I never received any notifications on the entry -- because it did not exist! Haha, how silly of me.
I have been at Smash Academy before (for approximately a year, in fact!) but I returned to Ilia to stay with my family for a while. I was not sure when I would return, so I withdrew from the school during late summer. But here I am, back again! Good old Canas, just the way he was before. That's my name, if we have never had the opportunity to meet... In fact, let this be something of a reintroduction and, perhaps, a new beginning. If this is the case, well... Hey there!
I have not been doing very well at keeping up with that New Year's resolution I made for myself... I told myself to do a better job at keeping track of things. Even though I returned during early October I have failed to keep up-to-date on this neat-o technology network. Maybe I'll skim a little, but let me know if there is something that needs my attention.

...you really should get an electrical diary. I bet if you had a computer screaming at you to do things, you wouldn't forget, tee hee hee!
no subject
Electrical diary? I am not sure what the benefits of this contraption might be aside from causing problems... Do you have one?
no subject
[THIS PERTAINS TO HIM. IN A WEIRD ROUNDABOUT WAY.]
... I see. How was your stay? Were your parents there?
no subject
lmfao niime...
To have a wife and son sounds nice, although I wouldn't know what it feels like. [He doesn't really intend to procreate when and if he ever gets together with someone.
except he and riley did in the form of a pokemon egg already i mean what]no subject
Oh, that is fine. Not many people here have children, nor are many of them married. I do not feel there is a way to describe the feeling of having a wife and son, though... It's like trying to describe the feeling of having a family...
no subject
But why must she be harsh to her child? Does she treat you well?
no subject
no subject
...
That isn't to say Canas made him change his mind. It'd take a lot to change his mind about his father. Now, though, it was beginning to make him wonder whether or not he still cared for him. Probably not, but you know.]
I see. So your mother still cares for you, yet she is harsh. Why does she hold such high expectations? Does she want you to be the best for your own sake? [That could make sense.]
no subject
In a way, I suppose it is a boasting rite. In another way, she taught me so much so I could protect myself and sustain myself. Sure enough, it has done both for me, and I am forever grateful. If I continue to push myself, I can become even greater; maybe someday, I will make her proud.
no subject
You sound very gracious, yet you could be too gracious. Some parents can be manipulative with ulterior motives, and you may not be able to figure that out until it's too late.
[He almost typed, "I would know," but he didn't want to openly discuss that, so he refrained.]
Just ensure that your magic is only used for good. Now... what is your 'elder magic' capable of? [He's curious, especially by how they're 'dark tomes'.]
no subject
And to satisfy your curiosity, elder magic is a sort of magic (the other two types being anima and light magic) that uses darkness as its power. Its strength is determined by the willingness of the user to invite the darkness into their person as well as their quest for further knowledge. There are not many users of elder magic... and for good reason, too. Dark magic can be a risky item to wield, and it takes great strength to overcome the temptation to submit to its force.
no subject
Now, your magic. You seem full-aware of the risks. What do you do when you feel the temptation? Succumbing to that would surely plague not only you, but everyone around you.
no subject
I have seen what happens to those who succumb to the force of dark magic, yes. It leaves you an existence of mindlessness... You merely exist. It is a difficult balance I must push my limits a little but know those limits as well. I have slipped just a little once before, and it is not something I wish to do again. In the end, if you are able to master dark magic, it is a rewarding experience.
no subject
... Then I cannot argue with you further either. All I ask is for you to remain on your feet on whatever subject, parental figures or magic. You never know what may happen. It could all fail unexpectedly.
[And in his heart, he knew that if this person was alright, he didn't want anything bad to befall them. In fact, he doesn't know this man, does he?]
So you are Canas. Are you a student?
no subject
Ah, yes, Canas is my name! I am working as a librarian, although the headmasters have requested my audience recently... I should assume they have something they wish to tell me about my recent arrival and employment. So to answer your question, I am no student! What is your name?
no subject
It seems that you have a way of learning. If only all humans could be so receptive.
Now, you are the librarian, yes? I do wonder why I haven't seen you yet. I go to the library very often. [Study, study, study. It never ends, and he likes it that way.] I am N. Expect to see me at least a few times a week.
no subject
I will look out for you, next time, N. Is... that truly your name? I have never heard anyone with a letter as a name.
no subject
[he had the best library in his castle man it was pretty big]
Yes, that is my name. I find it simple and concise. I need nothing outlandish and long to present myself.

[He preferred it over people calling him 'Natural', although there is nothing wrong with this name either.]

[Then again, most of his childhood was spent just sitting, reading, and thinking. Endlessly. He had his playtime, but even as just a little boy, all he wanted to do was learn, learn, learn.]
no subject
no subject
Ah, that's nothing I would like to speak of now.

Thank you. Expect me in the library tomorrow night.
[Okay, Canas, you're cool in his book. HAHAHA GET IT BOOK I'M SO FUNNY]
no subject
Right! I will.
