Typical. He left without even bothering to let his son know. [Even if it's text, Silver sounds somewhat hurt - ok, a lot hurt. Even if he was told or his dad tried to let know, he more than likely ignored it.] Hmph not that I care, just one less idiot around here to think about.

Hmmph. No matter; any trainer or pokemon up for a battle? I'd hate to let my team's skills go to waste because they have no one to battle. [This is Silver speak for Distract Me.]

.. He's my father. How would you feel that you got to see your dad then he ups and leaves again?

Most times are suitable to me, although I teach my class on Monday afternoons, and I have plans tomorrow night.

I would not care. I have no sentimental attachment to my father. Although I would question his appearance at all, simply because he has been dead for nearly seven years.

Tonight, then?

Hmph. If this place can bring us from other universes, it stands to reason it can bring the dead to life.

That is acceptable.

Perhaps. Although I doubt it would take interest in my father other than to plague me.

Where and what time?

Isn't that what most father's are to a child?

The stadium in an hour, then.

[And true to his word, Silver will be there leaning against a guard rail. He pretty much radiates arrogance - he thinks that he'll be the victor here.]]

[[And there is Cyrus, an hour to the minute. Without a word, he takes his place at the end of the field and holds a pokéball out.]]

Hmph. [He didn't even bother to leave the wall, simply pulled off a pokeball and tossed it out on the field to reveal his Golbat. Only then did he take his place like a normal trainer, gaze sharp.] Bring it on.

[[This had happened before. Silver in his zeal, confident of the outcome. But this was, somehow, a different Silver. And yet it made no difference. The ball opened to reveal Honchkrow, and he ordered an attack through his subtle posturing--Embargo.]]

Confuse Ray. [If he recognised the move, he gave no indication. It didn't matter anyway. He didn't use items on his pokemon in battle, it was simply a waste of the turn that could be better spent attacking - or in this case, confusing the enemy.]

[[Honchrow was never equipped with a held item, so anything it did would be fought with peril--Cyrus wasn't going to use his Full Restore just yet. But he signaled for a Dark Pulse attack. Honchkrow summoned up several beads of shadow and sent them...right at itself. Well, at least it had a resistance to its own type.]]

Poison Fang.[Silver allowed himself a small smirk. If he managed to poison the bird, good. If not... He grit his teeth silently, wishing that there was someway to get his Magneton here. He was starting to miss the useless thing when it came to zapping birds.

He did notice that the other wasn't calling out the attacks. Huh. He shoved it from his mind for now.]

[[Honchkrow flinched as the poison took effect, taking damage from it instantly. But the subsequent Dark Pulse attack hit its mark, bashing Golbat from several directions with those shadows.]]

[Silver hissed as the attack did it's damage, but made no move to even consider recalling the pokemon. The bird was poisoned, which was good.] Bite.

[[The Bite was strong, but not strong enough. Once again, Honchkrow resisted its own type, although that didn't stop it from squawking in pain. In retaliation, it lashed out with Steel Wing.]]

Stupid piece of -- [Silver snarled as he recalled the fainted Golbat. Not strong enough the stupid thing. He'd deal with it later. Another pokeball was chosen and tossed in - his Sneasel coming out.] Shadow Claw.

[Oh, was this going to be more than one on one? Cyrus was all right with that. He recalled Honchkrow before the hit could strike, swapping it for Weavile. The sickle weasel took the Shadow Claw, but it was a glancing blow. With a nod from Cyrus, Weavile struck as well--Brick Break.]
