[You'd think, by now, she'd be floating around like the social butterfly that she was. Chatting up anyone she finds and making new friends here and there.

Nope.

Day in and day out, she'd be working. Classes, counselling or just hiding in some secluded corner of the library with a mountain of books and some tea. Today being no different, one would find her in the library reading...fairytales. She's been reading mythology books all her life. Time for something a little different.

But she didn't really notice her Lucario fiddling with her laptop.]

The academy has fairytale books? Man, I've totally neglected to stop by the library mostly on account of I've had little interest in rifling through the books. Although it's weird a fighting academy would have books on such stories. I'd have thought they'd cater to books with, well, fighting in them?

[She blinks realizing she's likely rambling on off of the subject. With a wave of her hand in dismissal she turned back to fairytales.]

I do have to say, my favorite stories are the cute ones involving romance. I love how the prince always ends up finding the girl of his dreams...

Well, the academy also has children. Any decent library should have a children's section, and I won't deny that I like rifling through children's books once in a while. Once you've experienced a week's worth of old dusty tomes from the period of creation. You'll yearn for really light books too, and...you know, the general fiction section.

[Had Mona been drinking a beverage at that moment one could have clearly heard her sputtering out of being caught off guard. Instead she made a loud squeak followed by a choking sound as she flopped backwards in her chair. Good thing she caught the edge of her desk just before falling out of it/.

[Well...she WAS the guidance counselor. But really, she could care less if she answered her or not. Cynthia just knows that when someone starts going on about romance novels in that tone. Something's up.]

Hey, you're that one one with the "glitters and ponytas" look in your eye at the mention of romance.

[She composes herself back into her chair, flicking a lock of stray hair out of her face.]

W-well, I mean, when has it ever been a crime for a girl like me to enjoy romantic stories? To dream of romance even? I'm sure all women my age like to indulge in hopeless romantic mush. Doesn't automatically mean I have a boyfriend or I don't you know.

Cyrus was in the library anyway. He spent a great deal of time there, studying deeply the books on foreign worlds, learning the true depth of creation.

He would have to know everything. It wasn't optional.

But it wasn't often to hear people laughing. He looked up, looked around...and there was Cynthia.

[By that time, she had already started on another fairytale. Reading it out loud so that Lucario could hear her.]

A fairy godmother giving girl free shoes and designer heels? Sign me up.

[Lucario gives her a look, a long pause and a chuckle. Her response was to lightly push the blue dog.]

Shut up. I don't have a problem. Can't a girl just appreciate the idea of free clothes? Geez Lucario, so mean.

What a petty thing to enjoy. Of course, it illustrated the lack of charitable history in the world, for it to be attributed to a supernatural force when it occured. And of course, Cynthia would miss the point.

He would have been content to ignore her were the next book he needed not a scant few feet from her.

At first he considered sending Weavile over to retrieve it. But it was in fragile enough condition and the weasel's sharp claws would be too much of a risk.

Ah well. It wasn't as though he was afraid of her or was going to go out of his way to avoid her perish the thought.

[He was free to come closer. Hell, he was free to sit at the same table as him. With everything that's happened, she'd probably just ignore him anyway. Cynthia could handle a lot of things right now. Her students, her two jobs, anything. But dealing with Cyrus would take time.]

It wouldn't be the first time he risked himself for his duty. This certainly wasn't anything close to having to deal with Giratina...but on the other hand, the death god was unlikely to talk so much.

In a slightly quickened pace, he walked up and snapped the book off the table.

Not literally! Lucian's turns into a monster when it's past six and I'm still working.

Ahh, I see - less a monster and more someone who's unenthused about burning the midnight oil. Or the early evening oil, I suppose, if 6pm is the cut-off point.

Hopefully whoever he is, he never catches you grading essays past 2am. That's how long it took me to grade my final written exam.

Ahaha! Well the man can read minds. He knows me better than anyone else in my league. I just wish he was here to scold me. Working like this, without getting a earful from him, just feels wrong.

Honestly, it wouldn't be the same. Lucian's one of my elites. He knows how I work and how to argue. But never mind that. Maybe, one day, I could convince him to teach here too. Maybe even bring the other boys.

I do miss them...

It can be an interesting task, to describe this place to others in a way that makes them want to come along. Rio, the Oddish I'm training, didn't come around for quite some time. I believe he's enjoying it here, though.

Perhaps suggest it as a visit and see how well they like it?

Yes well, some of the research books here were published by people I know. So I'd much rather read something light and something that wouldn't remind me of my slightly uptight grandmother whose research on the Sinnoh origin is about three shelves down.

My grandma is still alive, still leading the region's top facility on mythology research...and still actively telling people they're not good enough to be near her granddaughter.

I'm a bit of an amateur archaeologist, myself, but I haven't done much traveling since I got here. Wouldn't mind seeing some of the sights.

[SO MANY VISITORS IN THE LIBRARY. This one, however, did not intend to actually say anything. The four-foot-tall librarian was simply ghosting around, taking quiet note of the subject matters her guests were taking part in.

Fairytales and fantasy happened to be a soft spot for Vianca.

So after a certain amount of time, she might have very quietly scooted by Cynthia's spot and gently left a well-worn anthology on her table. TIME TO ABSCOND, TOTALLY UNDETECTED. PROBABLY. MAYbe.]
