Have you any suggestions on reading material concerning Oddish? Oddish specifically, not its evolutions. It's challenging to find anything truly comprehensive.
There is much to say on any species. As an overview, it often wanders in a sleepwalking state, re-rooting itself in new places to find varied nutrients. During that time, its feet, which are more properly condensed roots, unravel for that purpose.
Although it may enjoy eating and does posses a digestive system, only supplemental nutrients must be given, though this may be presented in the individual's favored flavor.
Well, these things I know. Most basic texts have this sort of information. I was hoping for something more in-depth - optimal soil types, information on habitat beyond 'Native to several regions' and the like.
No matter, I'll continue to research. If you've need of help settling in, I'm not far off. Let me know.
Surely there's one that's best, however. I mean, human beings CAN exist on all sorts of rubbish. The ones who thrive, though, tend to be more careful about what they put in their bodies. In an Oddishes case, I'd assume the same. Better soil, better health. Makes sense, no?
As I said, suitably fertile soil. Obviously places of increased toxicity or clay will decrease their ability to thrive. However, it is nearly impossible to narrow down what is "optimal", as said.
Hmm. Perhaps that's something I ought to work on in my own time.
[It can't be near impossible in his view - if someone was able to figure out the best soil composition for growing things like oranges or cacti or hydrangeas, there has to be a similar set of parameters for different species of plant Pokémon.

I believe this is a sufficient start.

Or maybe he's just over thinking it.]
