Hey, it's Mona! We meet again!

A very big THANK YOU to all those who attended my photo booth at prom. You guys TOTALLY ROCK! I hope to see all of you happy couples and grads again next year, where I promise you my booth will be bigger and better than it was this year! Gotta top off that big bang of an earthquake somehow. What a show off...

[She's going to try and bugger the headmasters of the academy to fork over some cash in order to buy a real working waterfall instead of her painted backdrop one. Don't ask where Mona is going to find a legit waterfall, let alone get it into the hall for next year. Just...better off not questioning it.]

Should you have purchased a photo package from me, your proofs will be sent out shortly in the following weeks to come. Honestly, why doesn't the academy have a dark room? Don't you people have a weekly school news paper? Where do you develop your film at?! I'm sorry you have to bear with the mess in our bathroom Chiyo...

[Look guys, Mona hasn't upgraded herself to a digital camera yet. Bear with her. When one of your two bosses back home doesn't pay you a cent for your hard work, it's hard to meet end's meat, let alone indulge in nice things. Which, doesn't make a lot of sense since buying film is way more expensive in the long haul. Again, don't question it. Mona's sense of logic...lacks at times, to put it politely.]

Booth aside, I'm writing to you all in hopes I can trouble a few of you for a favor? A friend and I recently had a little accident involving our bikes and she's assured me someone around these parts can help a girl out. I rely heavily on my Mona Cycle to get to and from places, so it would be a BIG help if one of you gearheads could fix her back up into pristine condition as fast as you could. And I'd like, totally love you forever if you could do that.

I'm sure she'll be good at helping out. I dunno if she charges for that kinda work or anything, though. If not, ask tails and tell him you're a friend of mine. That'lle probably go a long way towards gettin' him to do you a solid.

Charging services for money or for free, I don't care of the outcome. Althoooough free would be a nice asset against my insurance... I just want someone to handle my precious baby and get her road worthy again! It sucks major baseballs that I'm stuck walking on my own two legs around the academy grounds instead of out zipping among the buildings and city streets. I miss the wind in my face, may hair whipping behind me at top speeds, the bugs in my teeth.

Scratch that last one. Ew! I suddenly remembered how disgusting the taste of bug is.

Hey, you could always use it as an opportunity to take up running. I'm no Sonic the Hedgehog, but there's plenty to enjoy about running fast. I usually keep my mouth closed though, so I don't accidentally kill any bugs.

Actually, just saw an engineer joined the Academy and figured I'd mention your dilemma to 'em. Never met them before or seen their work, but I figured it couldn't hurt, right?

Well, I didn't say I can't run. I can run just fine. Running miles to another city is where I draw the limit. My two feet would take me days, maybe weeks to get there whereas my bike only takes a couple of hours, maybe more.

[Not like she isn't active either. She's into cheer leading which is as physically demanding as any sport. She gets out to roam around in dirty old temples fore treasure, and on occasion has chased people up flights of stairs. If a human could run as fast as Sonic...that would be horrifying.]

Really? Aw, Knuckles you didn't have to go out of your way to help a couple of us girls out. But, you did and I'm so glad you're looking out for the little guy. Seriously, if I could reach through the screen at this moment I'd kiss you because you totally rock!

Dependin' on how far it was, I could run city to city. I've traversed a lot of places, tracking down Eggman to smack around his robots and put an end to his schemes before. Done a lot of globe trotting.

[...oh. She'd do what, now!?]

Oh. Uh. Oh. It's.. uh... that's.... it's no problem. It's fine. Never hurts to help, so... uh.. yeah!

I like your style little man! Haven't been all over this vast universe of ours, but I do love myself a good adventure or two. All that adrenaline pumping in your veins, and the thrill of discovering something new...sometimes even scary, yeah?

Well, not a lot scares a guy like me, but I'll risk just about anything to find treasure or a worthy opponent!

What, you trying to be all macho? [There is an amused scoff as she shifts her chin to her palm, popping her elbow on the desk beyond view of the screen.] There must be SOMETHING you're scared of? Everyone has a fear of something, whether it be spiders or snakes or...OH! What about ghosts?

[Mona shifts the direction of her desk lamp to give her features a sinister shadow effect. She wiggles her fingers for added effect.] WwwwwOoooooooHh!

[....yeah so OK he actually IS kind of creeped out by ghosts.

But as if he'd admit it!]

Hmph! Nope! There's a ruin on my Island called Sandopolis. The ghosts there get bigger the longer you leave 'em in the dark and then they grow horns and attack ya. Punching them doesn't get rid of them - you have to jump through them from beneath or behind and that scares them off. Done that more times'n I can count!

[...which is all true! He just got the jibblies every time he had to do it.]

[Yeah, yeah, she's going to merely smile and nod.]

I'll keep you firmly in mind for ghost busting duties then!

There are a few ancient ruins and temples yet to be discovered or explored back home and the rumors have it a few of them are haunted by ghosts, spirits, and all sorts of nasty creatures!

[She suddenly perks up and slams a fist into her palm.]

Say, why don't you tag along the next time I head back to Diamond City for a visit and you and I can go bush waking for temples? Oh, yeah! Actually, that kinda works, I mean, Joe can carry the camera and you can carry the microphone for me while I take the lead in. And if ghosts pop up, you get first dibs of knocking 'em out with your mucho, macho dance moves while I MC the entire match! Oh, how I'd LOVE to catch that on camera!

['Mona: Temple Explorer' will get high television ratings for sure! Suck on THAT Vanessa!]

Huh.... you know, I can never resist a good treasure hunt.

[Even with the threat of ghosts looming over him.]

Alright. Y'know what? You're on. Done deal.

...wait, filming it?

Yeah! Back home I had a show airing for awhile on television where I'd go into a temple in search of treasure. My one boss, Joe, he'd film the entire expedition. I'd give a rousing commentary as we made our way through ruins, dodges traps, and you know, all those ruin type encounters that happened. The people of Diamond City couldn't get enough of it, we were like, the number one show at one point.

[Fond memories and good times she shared with Joe as they mucked about in musty old ruins came back to her. The call to return to treasure hunting was but a tickling temptation.]

When we found treasure, that was a huge big deal. Like, big dream come true big dealio. We'd take I found for appraisal and then auction the pieces off at the end of the show! Oh yeah, did I forget to mention the entire expedition was filmed live as well? So if I screwed up everyone saw. And if I found danger, the viewers could feel scared right lone with me!

Woah - that show sounds really awesome!

Hey, I wonder if it's on DVD? Maybe I could watch it, if so.

[She shrugs.]

Can't recall if Joe invested in making past episodes as a DVD option. Huh. Why didn't we think of that earlier, we could make a pretty buck on box sets..

[Mona gives a shake of her head back to reality. Time to think of business related details later when she's back on Diamond City soil.]

But! No harm in asking him. If a DVD does exist you'll be the first to get a copy personally signed by yours truly!

DVDs are great. You can watch shows you like any time you want. I don't own any of my own, but I've seen them around.

I know how DVDs work you silly goose! Though supposing if you like the idea of those, you'd get a huge kick out of CDs! Similar to DVDs but they play music instead. Don't suppose you've heard of them either?

[Right. She forgot he made mention he lived on an island by his lonesome. However she stifles a giggle nonetheless.]

CDs are a DVD for music. Got it. So like... a disc with MP3s on it?

[He knew what those were! He knew some things sometimes!]

[Curling her fingers until her hand makes a gun shape, she cocks it at Knuckles and shoots, making a small bang noise along with a wink.]
