[Boxes and bags and a slight mess can be seein in the background when the feed cuts in. A light, cheery tune can be heard in the distance before it stops when a possibly familiar face plops on the chair in front of the feed and wipes their forehead.]

Hey ya'll! Sorry I didn' take the time ta say I was on my way back, but hey, what better way than now during unpackin'?! Got a new room this time 'round tho we all know how them dorms like switchin' it up on us erry now an' then. So, for now, if you wana come on down an' say hello, feel free ta pass by BW eight!

Especially those folk who know I always want ta know if they're okay and fine. Don't make me come to yer rooms now y'hear?

[She smiled and blew a kiss at the camera.]

[And with a wave, she cuts the video. Still marked as online if anyone wants to chat, audio, video and what have you. Or you can pass by the room! In any case, she seemed as welcoming as always. Hello, you were all missed.]

[Oh hey look - Jon is using the video chat feature on the phone you got him. Things have really progressed since you were last here, huh? He's outside under one of the cherry trees, somewhere in town.]

Oi, you! Welcome back. Sorry I missed your arrival - did you need help unpacking or anything?

[Riwane beamed at him happily.] It's alright! I figured you musta been busy anyways. What with yer new teachin' job an' all.

An' you know better n' askin' if I need help. Seein' you would be nice though, if ya got time later on.

I know you don't especially need the help, just as you know I'm prone to ask anyway.

[He started moving in the video feed. The sounds of a book closing and footsteps can be heard.]

I've time right now. My teaching job certainly doesn't consume my every waking moment, you know. I'll be there in short order.

You had a good trip back, I trust? How are things on the farm?

[Riwane gave a cheerful cheer and nodded.]

I'll be lookin' forward ta seein' ya! Missed ya fer sure.

[She paused for a moment befor she sighed.]

Still run by that jerk, but he eventually asked gramps and gran for help when he realized runnin' that place ain' as easy as his scams.

Saw less an' less of 'im after that an' things are lookin' up I'd say.

I missed you just as much.

[Man. He took a moment to marvel at how much easier he found admitting things like that. He was certainly a changed man compared to who he'd been some four years ago.]

I'm glad you saw less of him. I still think I might have solved everyone's problems a fair bit earlier, had you allowed it.

[He licked his lips just a little and grinned, baring his teeth just a touch.]

I hope he understands how lucky he is that you kept me in line.... he owes you a great deal.

[Good, sourpants grumpyfur wasn't going to be allowed to be surly round her!]

C'mon now, he's a jerk an' a down rite hog but he don't deserve ta get mauled. [Though she wouldn't mind putting a beat down on him...]

[Riwane laughed and shook her head.]

Where I'm from, blood ties can only excuse you from so much.

But at any rate, it sounds as though karma is catching up with him at an alarming rate, and who am I to steal the Universe's fun, eh? If the laws of cause and effect want to drag him about by the short and curlies till he straightens up and flies right, then I'll not interfere.

Yeah, think it's better this way. Git 'im to pull 'imself by the toes an' git things in order.

The farmers could use sum pleasant company.

We shall visit them come summer time, if you'd like. I'm sure Chiyo would enjoy coming along, too.

My guess is that she is going to be absolutely ecstatic to finally meet you. We've been training together every morning and she's come a great way in a short time. Showing you what she can do is going to be hugely satisfying for both of us.

Well they like ya fur sure, even if gran gives ya a tough time. She jus' wants ya ta continue treatin' me rite like she says. I think it mite be too many novelas, Rio's definitely spoiled on those. [She laughed, albeit a tad bittersweetly. She had really hoped he came this time around...]

Anywho, I'm really lookin' forward fer us ta git together. This is a first step in tha rite direction an' I couldn't be happier! Soon enuff we'll have a full team an' we can hit them championships!

Speaking of the wee blue fellow - any word on whether he wants to come out this way? I'd certainly enjoy seeing him again. Obviously we'll see him this summer, but I think a place like this may do him some good.

We ought to have a... well. Heh. A family get together, eh? Dinner somewhere nice. It may be a little tricky accommodating both your tastes - she can't handle any food that's spicy and also eats fish as opposed to meat - but I'm sure it can be done.

[Riwane shrugged.] Dunno. He keeps bein' on t'fence about it. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. [It was clear that Riwane would prefer the prior option.]

That'd be real nice. [She said with a smile.] Can't say I know of anyone who'd turn down some down rite good fun an' food! And I'm sure y'can find a nice place that caters ta multiple tastes!

Well, just be sure to let him know - again - that the city has a contest hall. And I would be happy to work with him on all aspects of contest training. I've been reading up, just in case.

[Yes, it was kind of foo-foo thing compared to battles. But he'd put in the effort if that was what was important to Rio.]

At this point, I'm almost thinking fish n chips down at the docks. Fish for her, we can get a curry each with plenty of meat for me, plenty of meat and spice for you, and chips for all of us.

The docks does have sum real nice food an' we haven't been there in a long while.

I'll head back to school and see if I can't find her. If you spot her first - as I am entirely sure she'll be very anxious to meet you, finally - you can suggest it to her. Deal, Candlebottom?
