My sweet academy!

[Voile is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.]

Do you know what we're missing that we haven't had in quite some time? And I understand that is mostly my doing, however, I'm going to make up for that. The last contest hall and host club gathering was a success. We should have another one, and I've already begun work for a springtime celebration for the end of this month.

So what do I need? [Not eggnog.]
Volunteers. And believe me, I'll pay you handsomely. In food. Money, I guess if you need it or want it. Tailored clothes? Sure.

While not necessarily in need of a full committee, I'm interested in ideas for decorations and outfits. Although I'm very tempted to make flower themed outfits for everyone. I assure you, I could make flowers manly, too.

But if you're interested in lending a hand, whether helping me prepare, or playing the part of a host, you should say something here. There will be prizes and other such things, so it might be a good way to calm down after Valentine's Day. There's plenty of time to get involved and no rush. I promise.

Don't mind me for asking the stupidest question ever, but could you explain what a contest hall is? Let alone what a host club is? I'm afraid the concepts are all so foreign to me.

[Silly Voile thinking everyone would always know what those were.]

A host club is very much... Well. Almost like a tea party, except we serve more than just tea. My volunteers will dress up for the theme, and we serve food and drink that matches the theme or something like it.

The contest hall is for competitions. There are a variety of categories like beauty, intelligence, strength, and things like that. Participants are judged by the audience who cast their votes, and at the end, winners of the first three places get prizes to places in Final Destination.

It might sound a little silly, but it seems to be a fun experience when they occur.

Naw! Since you've explained them they don't sounds silly at all. Essential one's like a fancy restaurant with equally fancy waiters, while the other is similar to a beauty pageant? I assume this is correct?

[A contest or waiting on people? Hard choices to choose from considering both have caught her relevant interest. To win a contest sounded like a bit of fun, yet on the other hand she did like dressing up and serving people.]

It is very much like that. Except I'm... combining them together. At one point in time, I'd planned on doing contests separately, and someone else here used to handle the host club. But consider it like dinner and a show. The work isn't too hard, and all positions are like that. I want my volunteers to have a good time, too.

If you're still looking for volunteers I'd like to offer up myself as, well, a volunteer. Wherever I'm needed I possibly have the skills you're looking for.

I do like fancy things, so hopefully I can make it a bit fancy. Can I ask what you did before you came here? If I have an idea of what you were occupying your time with before, I might be able to better understand what kind of position would be best for you. Or something you might enjoy more.

[Quite a list is stretching it. The proper term should be LONG. Easily her resume would be almost as thick as a phone book. Well not really, but it's getting there.]

My last occupation on arriving was that of a photojournalist, so essential snapping photos for the newspapers. Currently I'm running my own pizzeria and I'm still employed as a video game designer, although I don't know how the latter job fits into your bill. Previous to those three jobs I've experience in working at restaurants as a waitress, and for a short run a bassist. I can sing too, except I'm afraid it's been a long, long while since my last gig. Kind rusty you know? It will be surprising if I even remember how to!

[Her eyebrows shoot up so quickly that it's a wonder they don't entirely fly off of her cute little humanised head. Mona's not kidding, is she? She's perfectly qualified. Overqualified, actually. Voile's going to have to dig into her pockets for this one...]

That's impressive. I mean, that's really impressive. [Excuse her while she wades through some shock here and there.]

Since you are so versatile, what would you enjoy doing most? It's true that I need hosts and hostesses. On the other hand, if you feel like taking photos of the winners, I'd like to hang them in the contest hall. In fact, I'd like all of the host club and contests to have photography. I want to show the growth and the development of our hard work and our time together.

But I want you to do something you'd enjoy.

Honestly I enjoy pretty much any job thrown my way, but if you insist, I'd be more than happy to fill in as a photographer for you. Works out evenly in a way too; you get memories for the host club and contests, and I can build a portfolio from the experience. Sounds like a good trade off, wouldn't you agree? Well, to me it sounds like an equal trade.

I think that sounds perfect, actually. If we both benefit, then there's nothing to lose. I'm not very particular over pictures either, but I'd like photos of the contest winners. And of the contest hall and things like that. Should be easily doable for you, I think.

Perfect! Will you require samples of my performance to give you an idea of my work? Lighting, composition, all that jazz? I'd like to know what you expect out of the photos before I begin the photo-shoots.

Oh... I trust you. I can't imagine you would say something without the ability to back it up. Although, I would like it a great deal if you'd take other photos of the contest hall, costumes, and such things. If you're as good as you say, I can think of quite a few things I'd like to have you do.

Not a problem for me, I can take photos of all that and more. Provide me with a list and I'll get my camera to snap to it's heart's content. Well you know, if cameras did possess hearts they probably would snap away to their content.

Ahem, anyway. Before I get this gig started I feel the need to bring up one important thing;

[Her tone of voice now grows serious in a matter-of-fact business fashion way. Mona is a dignified business woman at heart despite her cutesy exterior.]

Seeing how film isn't such a cheap commodity in these trying times, I will not work for mere peanuts, if you get my drift. Hiring a photographer for free won't cut it at all. As you have so pointed in your broadcast you'd be willing to pay handsomely. And I, certainly for one would like to be paid in return for my services.

[Chiyo never imagined Voile was the sort to host such fabulous events, but hey. The more important thing was that Voile looked well and happy. It had been such a long time since Chiyo last spoke to her that it was really nice to see her again -- even if only through a video. She'll never forget the flowers of friendship Voile gave to her at the hospital. To her, they were friends for life.]

Voile! Hi! How are you? If there's anything that I can do to help you with your event, feel free to ask. I'll gladly assist you. You don't even really need to pay me either. We're friends, after all. And I haven't seen you for so long. It'd be nice to spend some time together with this.

I think you'd be absolutely darling if you were one of my little hostesses. What do you think? We could dress you up in frills and lace.

[Jeez. She even sounds like Warren.]

T-Truly? [She's surprised by the proposal and is rather intrigued by Voile's demeanor. But, well, a lot of time has passed and they never really did get to spend much time together. Maybe Voile's character and manner of speech was always like this. Either way, she seemed happy enough to see Chiyo, so there was nothing to complain about there!]

Me? A hostess? I've... I've never been one before. I'm.... [HMM. Actually. Thinking about it now, this would be a good chance to get used to people. If Chiyo wanted to get a job, an opportunity like this shouldn't be turned down.] Well... If. If you're really okay with me, I'll do my best. I do love frills and lace, too.

[Chiyo is obvious. A transparent piece of glass that even if Voile only ever heard her, she'd be able to pick out the sentiments of the Vaporeon with ease.

The situation seems to be a matter of hook, line, and sinker. At least, it would be if Voile's intents for the contest and host club were anything cruel. Instead, they're just... things to do to spend time with one another. And Voile has an aching desire to simply be around people.]

Why would I not be okay with you? Do you have something to hide? Are you secretly a really awful person? I highly doubt that. No.

[She shakes her head.]

If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't have said anything. But if you were uncomfortable with it, I wouldn't pressure you into it either.

Oh. Oh no. I'm not uncomfortable. I'll be okay. Since you're okay. Um. When... When should I come help?

Well... Although I'd like to set the contest and host club for the beginning of next month, I'll of course need my volunteers to come in for one or two fittings. It just wouldn't do if I had to make something tailored for you at the last minute. So if you don't mind either letting me visit you or coming to see me once or twice by the end of the month, I'd like that very much.

I wouldn't mind either options. Just let me know when and I'll make the time. I can help you with any handy work, too, if you need it.

Oh, I'd much prefer to find time convenient for you. Since I've no idea what you do with your free time, it would be difficult for me to pick out a slew of times only for them to all be poor. Why not simply tell me when is best for you and I'll oblige?

Dumb... is sort of subjective, Kumatora. I'll do my best to make you something you won't feel foolish in, though. That might take a couple of times, though. Some people think flowers are dumb, after all.

[Guess she'll have to dress Kumatora as a venus flytrap.]

If it looks anything like a maid costume, it's dumb.

[Voile laughs. It's an earnest sound.]

I understand. There's nothing to worry about then. I'll be sure to keep maid costumes down to a minimum. At least for you.

You know you got me as a volunteer! If you need heavy stuff moved around, I'm your guy!

Dunno much about clothes or decorations or anything, but I like plants plenty. If you need some brought in, I can do that.

Oh, perfect. I was hoping I could utilise some of that strength. I'd like your help with appropriately decorating too. Nothing real serious, just a general layout. Like what you think would be easiest considering traffic of people and where I plan on having things.

I don't think we'll have a problem with space. The contest hall is decently sized and even before the hall was completed, where we had the last one was plenty spacious enough. Let me know when you're free, and I'll run my ideas past for you.

[He was a person. He walked places. He could figure out how it was done best in a room type situation. Probably.]

[She grins.] I'm not doing anything currently. I just so happen to be free, luckily for you. Care to meet me at the contest hall?

[Voile nods.]

[Which is Voile's way of saying she expects him to arrive after her.]

OK! Gimme just a sec!

[He'd probably never be as fast as Sonic. But that didn't mean he couldn't beat feet when he had to. Between a combination of spindashes and outright sprints, he made it to the meeting spot in a pretty remarkable time. And he was barely winded! But still a little winded.

Hey, it was rude to keep a lady waiting, right? Wasn't that a Manners?]

Phew! Made it!

[Even as Voile teeters back and forth between insanity and sound mental faculties, some parts of her always stay the same. Such as patience. Knuckles could have been hours late and chances are that Voile likely might not have cared. As it stands, however, he doesn't wait hours to see her.

And she's a bit thankful for it.]

There you are. You didn't tire yourself out, I hope?

[Her eyebrows raise and she flashes him a smile.]

[Her smile set him grinning in return. If there was a prettier smile in all of creation, he certainly hadn't run across it, yet. He still could hardly believe his luck when it came to being her friend - the best he could figure was he must have done something super nice in a past life.]

Not at all! I still got plenty of energy to help out.
