[Faced with her, Caim found himself also faced with the ever growing notion that there was only one Furiae. Before his sister had ever made her arrival at the academy, unfortunately brief as it was, there had been Ai. And only when the man found himself in quarantine after his series of delightful murders had it really dawned on him that he had spent too long trying to replace his sister. People like Ai weren't necessarily expendable in trying to recreate something that would never be.
After Furiae left, Caim had found himself without Ai as well. Mac was still present and that was as close to kin as he imagined he was going to get. Falcon and Samus were more or less allies of a nature. If things got rough, Caim knew standing by either one would strengthen his resolve rather than to weaken it. And he had to wonder when he began thinking like that.
So when he looked at Chiyo, what did he see? Innocence. Something that had long left him. Soldiers couldn't claim innocence and Caim could only ever say he was the guiltiest man who lived, prince or not. If anything, he was only all the more guilty. Princes didn't murder and princes certainly didn't go bloodletting as if it was some enjoyable hobby. As he eyed his sword arm, he was reminded that bloodletting was a thing of a not too terribly distant past.
The academy really had changed him and it probably showed in so many ways that Caim didn't even know.]
Do... I? [He looked down to himself and shook his head.] Standard apparel. You are the one who... [Uh.] ...looks nice, really.
[No one could ever claim Caim had been the most charming when it came to women. Not that the ladies in Caerleon's court had been spurned by his behaviour.]
