[HELLO, it is Ike. Long time no see.]

Well, I'm back. I know I've never been much good at keeping up with the network, but I figured I'd make a post to say so. I haven't been gone for long, but it still feels like it's been a while. It's been... Two months, more or less. But now that I'm back...

[Ike's not as keyed up as when he arrived the first time. He's calm, if not a tad exhausted. After that, a new emotion worms its way onto his face, one of mild irritation. He sighs.]

The headmasters re-enrolled me as a senior again. To be honest, the past year feels like a dream to me somehow. ...That doesn't make much sense, does it? You all saw me graduate, right? I don't know what went wrong with the headmasters, but there was no getting through to them. It's like they couldn't remember it at all. So this is where I'm at.

It's... not so bad. I came to terms with a few things that have been bothering me when I went back home. Now, I feel like I can focus on what I'm doing while I'm here much better than before.

[He cuts narrating his thoughts short by dragging his eyes back to the lens of the camera quite deliberately, then focusing back on his computer screen.]

...Right. Anyway, I'm back, and I'm ready to start the year. Again. That's all I really have to say. [Time to... shut this off. Yeah.]

I don't know what's up with this school! It can't seem to make up it's mind. It's so different for everyone who goes away. Some people can just come back with no problems. Some people disappear and come back with new memories, and then some people are away for just a few days but for them it's been longer, or the other way around.

But anyway, I took my little Sister home to Pallet town because she was upset about something at school and I could tell she could use the company, you know? We took the train, and it took about a week from the time I left to the time I got back. But when I got back, it wasn't 2012 any more, it was 2013!

I... That's such an extreme gap that I'm not sure what to think. A whole year! Your friends must have been worried sick about you, and you didn't even notice.

But to consider all of the things that could happen, I'm glad it was just the headmasters that forgot about me. It could have been much, much worse.

It was pretty terrible. People just thought I'd decided to ditch them without even really saying goodbye. My Girlfriend thought I really just didn't care and left her on purpose. My Family was all really nice to me when I got back, but I know they were probably all really, really worried. And a lot of my friends had left school by the time I got back so I never even got to say Goodbye and wish them well. I can't think of a worse thing that's ever happened to me!

The Headmasters are so weird! But at least it was just them that forgot, you're right. You get to come back to your friends and stuff and we all know who you are!

I'm sorry to hear that sort of thing happened to you. I'd think that everybody would understand why you were gone for so long if you just told them, though. As for me, just knowing that all of this time stuff or memory stuff happens would make it easier for me to understand in case it happens to somebody I know. I wouldn't like for it to happen, but the least I could do is be ready.

It's always best to be prepared! No matter what, I've learned that about this school.

Anyway, even if we're in different grades this year, probably we'll have at least a few classes together! What are you taking this year?

Hmm... You know, I haven't really looked at my schedule, but it's right here...

[And what better time? Ike leaned over to skim the sheet provided by the headmasters.]

I'm the type to take anything that can help me in battle, no matter the subject. So it looks like I'll be in Armed Weaponry, Fencing, Physical Education... Oh, and Smash Fundamentals, among a few other classes. Stuff like that. How about you?

We'll have P.E. together then, probably. And Smash Fundamentals again! Are you taking Martial Arts? I'm taking that one. Also, I'm going to try History this year! And I'll stay in the Ethics class again. It's kind of boring, but I want to make an effort to learn more stuff in it this year!

[Because it was probably his lowest grade last year.]

I have Martial Arts and History on here. Looks like we have at least four classes together. That's good.

[At least, he thinks that's it. These schedules were pretty hard to read. And sometimes they changed through the year.]

Ethics... Who teaches that? Are they a good teacher?

It's Cyrus! You might know him? He's kind of weird and kind of intense - I don't really know if he's a good teacher. But a lot of what he says SOUNDS really smart.

I can't say I've met him. And there's a big difference between sounding smart and being smart. Maybe I'll meet him for myself someday. It must be a tough subject to cover.

Mostly, I think it's just interesting to try and think about what's ethical and what isn't. Because it's probably different person to person, right? I don't think you could even teach a really hard-line course on what is ethical because it has to change for everyone. Weird, huh?

That's true, huh? I've met some people who are downright rotten in my eyes, but then there are people who are like saints. Both of them have been set in their ways. It's also hard to think about how people developed their convictions.

People sure are something.

They really are! And when you come to a place like this, where people aren't always the same species, you get even more differences! It's pretty exciting!

Oh, right. Beorc, Pokémon, laguz, divine beings, robots... There are all sorts of people here to hear from. Even more than my homeland, actually. But that's to be expected from an academy like this...

It is! People from so many different worlds and so many species - how could you even figure out where to begin with an Ethics class, right!? Still, like I said! I like it because it gets me thinking!

That's good. I'm glad to hear it. It's important to have an outlook like that, if you ask me.

I think so too!
