The More Things Change...

[It was an ordinary day for Jolt. Just an ordinary day, as far as he was concerned. Thank goodness he hadn't been affected by the craziness going around. But just to be sure, he'd better go check on his family and friends.]

Hey, everyone. Is anything weird going on for anyone? I'm fine, but I'll be there to help if anyone's having any problems themselves. We've gotta stick together, right?

[Only instead of the usual perky spiky dog on the webcam, it was a more calm looking guy with pale green hair and a shock of dark green cowlick. And his ears kinda looked like leaves.

Uh oh.

Also Riwane might have noticed a small bouquet outside her door. Where did that come from? It's a mystery to everyone.]

Well then, let's go settle this. Everyone's saying one thing, my memories are saying another. So if you've got proof, I'll be over there right away!

[Jolt got off the computer and went to knock on Riwane's door!]

[Riwane didn't take long to open the door and once she did she kind of stared at Jolt for a few, tilting her head as she still didn't believe it.]

Whoa, ya really do look like that.

[She snapped herself out of the disbelief before motioning him in.]

C'mon hon, ya know yer always welcomed here, err no matter what form ya got.

[Once inside, Riwane sat on the bed and patted it next to her. She pulled out one of her photo albums and popped it open. This one in particular had only photos of them two. Be it goofing off, playing video games or 'studying'. Which was just code word for more goofing off and gaming.]

Thanks, Riwane, I appreciate that.

[He sat down on the edge of her bed. But while she went for the book, he saw something that made him perk up a bit.]

Oh great, you got the flowers I sent! I hoped you'd like 'em!

[Riwane looked from the flowers then back to him and tilted her head.]

That was you? Oh thank ya much! Ah love em hon!

[That was a really nice gesture Jolt. You get a nice tight hug.]

[It was a hug he happily returned, with a big smile to boot.] I just thought it'd be fun to do something nice for you!

[Was this the new Leafeon form talking?]

Oh, pictures! Now let's-- [He sees pictures of Riwane and... a Jolteon. That looks a lot like him...] I... I remember all of that happening!

[Riwane grinned.] Well they sure brightened mah day! Thanks!

[She went back to the pics and then looked at him with a nod.] Eyup, same here. And they are very much treasured and enjoyed. That's why Ah wus confused when Ah saw ya.

So it IS true... I went to bed a Jolteon, and woke up as a Leafeon.

[He hangs his head a bit.]

It's just a little hard to believe, but I guess there it is... Smash Academy strikes again.

[Riwane pulled him close and hugged him against her.]

Eh it's okay. Ah'm sure it'll all be fixed in no time! Ah mean, not that there's anythin' wrong with your current form, it's just not the Jolt well, that we all love.

Not that this version can't be loved!

Ugh, this is hard and complicated. [She finally laughed a bit dorkily.]

[Her hug was definitely a big and familiar comfort to him, and he leaned against it, just relaxing and feeling reassured by it.]

Yeah, I know it's kinda complicated... But I guess on the bright side, if this IS some kind of academy weirdness, it can't last that long, right?

[Riwane grinned.] Rite! So there nuthin' ta worry 'bout.

[It might or might not be dangerous out there. Or even uncomfortable for him. She wouldn't want him feeling bad or getting hurt.]

So, whut are ya planning ta do then? Till this cools down a bit? Ah mean, yer free ta stay here with me if ya'd like. Ah wasn't doin' much but goofing off anyways and good company's always a pleasure.

Yeah... I think I'd like that. To hang out for a while. Just so things feel normal for a bit, y'know?

Good! [Riwane smiled brightly.] Still up fur sum vid games? Or maybe pop sum music an' jus' goof 'round fur a while? Ah'll order us sum food too! Hopefully tha city still delivers, even in all tha crazyness.

All of that sounds just perfect.

[He sat back on Riwane's bed, finally smiling again. It felt good to be doing things that were familiar to him, especially now.]

What kind of food? Maybe some leafy greens...

Uh whut?

[Okay that was just weird.... Then again, maybe he couldn't eat other stuff? But wasn't he a grass type? Well guess that would be as weird as carnivores eating meat too... Predatorial plants!]

Ah can see if they got any salads or stuff. Ah'm gettin' mahself either pizza or wings, or both!

[She tossed a few menus his way.]

Jus' lemme know whut you want hon!

Y'know, a veggie pizza would be nice too.

[He started to flip through the menus. Then he realized what might have sounded off about all this.]

Oh. Uh... I guess my Jolteon self is more of a meat eater, huh?

Yeah, kind of big time haha. No big! Ah'm all fur trying new stuff.

[Though she'd still be getting bundles of meat!]

Ah'll git on that order, you pick a flick fur us ta watch.

[He got up to go rifle through Riwane's movies.]

What genre are you feeling tonight?

Dunno, it's a special day. Ah'll leave it up to you hon.

[In the meantime, Riwane spun once on her desk chair and got to browsing the menus and such. Every now and then you could hear her singing a song, bobbing her head to an inner beat as her tail swayed in tandem.]

Hmm... Comedy.

[Jolt pulled a movie off the shelf, sticking the DVD into the player and grabbing himself a seat. He bobbed his own head along to the song she sang, a smile on his face.]

[After a beat, Riwane grinned, tapped her keys once and spun around on her chair with a bright smile and a thumbs up.]

Food's a cookin'! Should be here in 'bout twenty minutes give or take.

Good choice by the by! A good laugh certainly helps jus' 'bout everything!

[She rolled over, hopping off her desk chair and plopping next to Jolt to watch the flick.]

I could sure use that right about now.

[When she sat next to him, he leaned against her. Perhaps it was being a Leafeon instead of a Jolteon, but he seemed to be a bit more cuddly than usual.]

[Cuddling is perfectly okay with her Jolt, you should know this by now! Riwane wraps an arm around him and brings him closer, resting his head on her chest as she plays with his hair.]

No worries, it'll all be alrite hon.

[Jolt just nuzzled into her shoulder, relaxing against her. The movie didn't matter so much, honestly. He was happier just to have someone close by.]

I know... Thanks.

[And so they nuzzled and watched movies and ate a feast when the delivery came! And then probably passed out!]
