[ Robin can't say that operating the video recording device came naturally to her when her world was medieval in terms of technology, but she's always been a quick study. She was never above asking for help, and it wasn't hard when she literally lived next to a myriad of instructors. She sits at her desk with the posture of a noblewoman who had been trained by Maribelle for awhile, but her shoulders are noticeably slacked - a habit that nobody could really drive out of her ]
Hello! I'm the new tactics instructor at Smash Academy. It's good to - ah, meet you all. I have to say, all this equipment is pretty impressive. Almost like magic, really. Not that I really got this...er... 'keyboard' figured out, so you'll get to hear me talk for a bit instead.
[ Is it really a meeting if there isn't face-to-face interaction involved? Setting foot at the academy was a lesson in learning not to question everything that she experiences. Not for now, at least. If Robin wasn't really sure of what she was doing, then she certainly didn't show it. At least she's not the overly fidgety type ]
You can call me Robin, but feel free to attach any titles that you personally feel comfortable with. I don't really mind. If you want me to call you anything in particular, then feel free to speak up. I'll be starting to teach next term, but it would be good to acquire some familiarity with potential students and colleagues by then. I'll see some of you soon, hopefully!

Tactics? What kind of tactics will you be teaching?
no subject
[ Robin learned quickly that apparent age wasn't necessarily an indication of enrollment or employment. Especially when the headmaster was...a gloved hand and half the students didn't even appear to be human ]
Ground-based and aerial, mostly. I'm going to have to come clean and say that I don't have as much experience at sea, but that is something that I am trying to improve during my time here.
[ Setting half a fleet of ships ablaze didn't seem like a viable strategy for every situation, after all ]
no subject
But what KIND of tactics, though? Liiike.. one on one fighting tactics? Or military tactics? Or Pokémon battle tactics? There are lots of things that you can use tactics for! I came up with a whole big list of tactics for successfully raiding the cookie jar, for example!

Tactics from the eyes of the chessmaster, of course. I usually leave the physical training to the senior knights. There's no need for a gifted tactician to be a master in everything, just enough to understand the capabilities of those under their command. But yes, you could certainly use the things that you learn in my class to plan such...endeavors.
[She's just grateful that supplies weren't as rationed here as they were in the army ]
no subject
I'll try my best! I can't wait to see you in class!
no subject
[ Oh, no, she has attracted one of the school's weirdos already. Clear gives her a cheery and enthusiastic little wave! ]
I am Clear! I will be signing up for your tactics classes for this term. I do not know what tactics you're teaching, Robin-sensei, but they must be useful.
[ He places trust in his instructors, okay? ]
no subject
[ Robin seems completely nonplussed, which was only to be expected when she was the tactician to several dozen soldiers with the most...colorful personalities. Rather, she was more intrigued by Clear's gas mask. ]
If you don't mind me asking, what's the mask for? Does it only offer protection against the elements, or does it have magical resistance as well?
no subject
[ That gets the longest and most drawn-out response of confusion ever. He's heard many different assumptions about his beloved mask, but this was never one of them, namely the latter guess. ]
I do not know how it would have magical resistance, no. How would I be able to tell, Robin-sensei?
no subject
[ She's a tough spellcaster, but only on a practical warfare level. Robin usually left the theories to Miriel ]
no subject
I have had sulfuric acid poured onto my mask, and it was burning me. The mask withstood it entirely, so does that mean it is magically resistant?
[ If so, that is SO COOL. ]

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it! I mean, I know other people also have a little trouble adjusting to these new tools, but I can't stop thinking about all the possibilities...although I'm willing to bet that these new conveniences come with new challenges.
[ She thinks back to her Shepherd days and remembers all the times that a fort was used against them. Robin winces a little when she remembers how close Sumia was to being killed by an arrow all those years ago ]
I think it's important to know where I stand on proficiency, though. Do you know anyone who might be willing to give me honest advice?
no subject
[And just because he was the IT guy, doesn't mean Naoya's friendly enough to actually offer any real advice. Besides, if Robin was clever enough to figure out how to turn on the webcam and make a post, then she wasn't stupid. Why handhold her when she would likely learn more from trial and error?]
The challenges are yours alone to surmount - but if you're truly driven to master these tools, then I'm sure you'll figure it out just fine on your own.
...If you destroy your computer, however, that becomes my problem. And you don't want to become my problem.
no subject
I wouldn't really have it any other way, but it might be nice to have a guy around who knows -- oh, you're one of the staff here? Heh, I'll try to be gentle with this stuff, then.
[ At least she doesn't think she's broken anything yet while she was fiddling with the machine earlier ]
no subject
[This is highly relevant to her interests, if only because Eirik's knowledge on tactical manoeuvres is lacking and drastically.]
Lady Robin, I do believe you will have found in me an eager student. [She nods with a reassuring smile.] You sound as if you're fitting in well.
no subject
It's hard to tell whether or not I fit in when I've barely been here a week, but I hope that I am equal to the task. Nice to meet you, Lady...?
[ That's right, Robin was never given her name, was she? ]
no subject
[She shakes her head slowly.] Many of the people are friendly and kind, understanding, and rather informative. However, your garb resembles another I know here, and if it isn't too presumptuous of me, I think you may find the luxuries here a bit jarring.
no subject
[ She had always assumed that peace meant more free time for leisure activities. Robin didn't know how wrong she was ]
The technology isn't bad, actually. We certainly didn't have all of...this, [ She gestures with a generalized wave of the hand ] but it's certainly helpful. I mean, we can't do anything but adapt, right?
no subject
I think you handle the change better than I did. And I still decline from some of the things the academy and its grounds offer. On that judgment alone, you seem as though even if you don't feel comfortable, fitting in will appear seamless to the objective eye.
[Henry waves at the screen.]
What brings you here? I had no idea you were coming~
sorry i got dragged off to see a movie
[ She can't help but grin when she sees the familiar face. Regardless of Henry's eccentricities, he was still an old ally who had placed his life in her hands for every day that they marched. ]
Naga sent me here about a week ago. From what she's told me, it shouldn't be a permanent arrangement.
[ Regardless, Robin is grateful that she has a second chance at life at all. This is technically her third try, isn't it? It seemed that her chronology would always be divided into uneven pieces. ]
I didn't expect to see you here either, Henry. Didn't find peace to your liking?
[ She can't say that she agrees with Henry's value system to the letter, but Robin's never tried to let that come between them. The army would never survive that way ]
it's all good
[He felt lucky? He was pretty sure that's how he felt. He wasn't sure he'd be around to see her again, but here she was.]
Naga, huh~ What's her design, I wonder? This place must be pretty special if it's where she wants YOU to go. ...It's been pretty fun here, if you ask me. I haven't gotten to kill many people yet, though. Too bad.
Re: it's all good
...and I should hope that nobody's dying at a school. Not that I would know personally, mind you. Is this your first school, Henry? [ Wait, she's talking to a Plegian dark mage, isn't she? Robin hopes that she doesn't regret asking ]
no subject
Maybe. Maybe not. I learned plenty of things while growing up, you know. Survival skills and whatnot. The basics: the best place to aim for if you want your enemy to die clean, the best place to go for if you want 'em to explode in a mutilated mess, how to push your magic beyond the limits without becoming a useless heap of flesh and bone...
[He trails off there with a smile plastered to his features. He hardly even answered the question.] A lot more, but I'm getting a thrill just thinking about it, hee hee! Hey, Robin, did you ever get to go to school? Oh, wait. Maybe you don't remember, huh~?

My name is Chihiro Fujisaki, if you have any trouble with familiarizing yourself with modern technology, I'd be more than happy to help you out as much as I could.
