[Now it's a video.

A video of a very excited-looking little girl with ridiculously long, purple hair and a pair of glasses that are just a little too big for her. There's a yellow Pikmin tucked into her breast pocket. But most notable of all- or at least she thinks so anyway- is the bright pink flower in her hair.]

My sister Vianca is the best sister ever!!

[Ai grabs the computer and leans in closely, showing her flower to the camera.]

Isn't it beautiful!?

[Wow gosh she is excited. She leans back in her seat and gives the camera a double thumbs up.]

Oh... [Ai shakes her head.] Do you mean my Pikmin? No, she is not my sister! My sister helped me get my flower for my birthday!!

[She leans in so Isabelle can see her flower again.]

See? [A pause, she moves back in her seat again and motions to the Pikmin in her pocket.] And this is Qwerty! Vianca is a white Pikmin, not yellow.

Oh, I see! I'm sorry, I was just... confused for a second. [ She rubs the back of her head with an awkward chuckle. ]

Anyway, she's very cute! Very bright, too. Qwerty, right?

[ She leans forward, humming curiously. ]

I think they have Pikmin in Nookling Junction, actually. They look familiar, and oh so cute! [ SO. CUTE. ]

You know what Pikmin are!? Are you from Hocotate!? Do you know Captain Olimar?!?

W-Well, no! I'm not from Hocotate and I don't know an Olimar. I'm really sorry! [ She frowns sadly, knowing that's not the answer Ai's going to want to hear. ] I do know what Pikmin are, though. They give them in little flower pots for lucky tickets!

[ She never did see one up-close, though. ]

[Really, she can't help that she's a little disappointed. It's still VERY exciting that someone else knows about Pikmin, though!]

That's okay. That's very exciting that you know what I am, though! A lot of people here have never even heard of Pikmin! [She pauses.] Where are you from?

I'm from Smashville! We're just a small ways out of the city, really.

Um, are... you okay? Did I say something strange? You seem a little upset.

[ She doesn't want to make someone upset, let alone a sweet, innocent child! That's just depressing. ]

[She shakes her head, trying to reassure Isabelle.]

I just thought you might have known Captain Olimar, that's all. He was my leader a very long time ago, and I haven't seen him for ... a while.

Oh... I'm so sorry to hear. [ That's really upsetting. He was her 'leader'? Does she mean a guardian or father figure? They must have been close. ]

Do you have any idea what happened to him? I wish I could say I know him, but... I don't. [ Her expression is nothing short of apologetic. ]

Mnn, it's okay! Don't worry!

I don't know what happened exactly, but I'm not worried. It would just be nice to hear from him.

[She pauses, looks concerned for a moment, then smiles. Time to change the subject!]

I don't think I know you! What's your name?

... Wah- I'm sorry! I completely forgot to introduce myself! How rude of me... I'm so sorry!

Anyway, my name is Isabelle, and I'm the school's new general secretary. Could you tell me your name?

Yes! My name is Ai! Spelled A-I. It means purple, I think! I am a student!

[ She takes a minute to tap away at the keyboard. It's a wonder that she's so easily able to, given she has paws, but she does do it. ]

Okay! It could mean 'indigo', which is a shade of purple, and it could also mean 'love'. Would you like to know what my name means? It meeeeans...

[She frowns. But smiles again when Isabelle looks up the origin of her own name.]

I think that's fun! Some of the students here are gods. They are nice, usually.

[ Then, however, she blinks, clearly a bit taken aback. She knows there are some, um... different presences here, but this isn't quite what she'd anticipated. ]
