Oh, is it on? Hello? Testing, 1... 2... 3?

[ The audio comes first, but then comes the video, blinking on with the slight fizz from microphone static in the background. The feed is a little choppy, but worry not: she plans on getting a separate webcam for this thing at some point. She found it best to take one of the Headmaster's older computers out of generosity, saving a newer one for a student or for something else important. Needless to say, its functionality is lacking, but it'll do.

At any rate, here she is, a cute little puppy dog with a wiggly tail standing just in front of the laptop, hands smoothed down her sides and her hair and clothes slightly unkempt. She's been hard at work already, both with trying to get settled in and with understanding how her new job works. A secretary's job is never done! ]

It's working now! Oh- [ An uneasy chuckle comes, but is quickly replaced by a chipper and beaming smile. ] How silly of me. I should be introducing myself! I'm really sorry. I got a bit... distracted. [ Her voice takes on a hushed tone. ] I think the laptop's a bit finicky...

But anyway, hello, Smash Academy! I am very excited to be here at your esteemed academy. [ She gives a polite, ladylike bow, her bells in her hair jingling with the motion. ] My name is Isabelle, and I will be the school's new general secretary. I'll be taking care of any of the offices I can, just to give the teachers a hand. I hope to make your lives easier! They must be hard with all the hustle and bustle...

[ She clears her throat for a brief moment and claps her hands together, her tail still going ninety miles an hour behind her. ]

I think my first order of business should be to get to know everyone! [ She gives a tilt of the head, her disposition generally friendly. ] What are your names? Are you students, teachers, or staff members? Oh, and if there's anything I can help out with, please feel free to let me know! I'd like to help everyone in any way I can.

[ She places her hands on her fists, and one could swear that cute little sparkles are starting to dance off of her body from Deep Anime-like Determination™! ★ ]

[ She dissolves into a small fit of giggles before she shuts off the feed. ]

"Oh yeah," Banjo replied, hand on his chin. "Well, maybe the offices, the cafeteria, the dorms... Anything else you want to see?" he asked.

"Weeeell... nope! It sounds like that would cover it," she told him, lacing her paws together. "That's really the gist of what I need to cover for now, so... lead the way?"

"Sure thing! Let's go to the cafeteria first. I'm hungry," he suggested.

"Aww, are you? Well, then we should fill right up, shouldn't we? I'm a little hungry, too, now that you mention it. By the way," she suddenly added, as if remembering something pertinent to the situation. "I've never tried the lunch bear's cooking! His name is Nancy, isn't it? Is his food very good?"

Isabelle had to admit that the school she went to in her childhood had some, uh... very low-quality food. It was pretty bad.

"Oh yeah! It's great! You'll like it," Banjo assured her, leading the way towards the cafeteria. "He may look a bit scary, but he's really nice," he warned her.

"Well, I don't mind scary at all, just as long as he won't hurt anyone!" Isabelle knew that bears tended to look scarier than most, namely because people expected teddy bears, only to receive, uh... reality. "So no worries for me. I'm good."

"That's good," Banjo replied.

When they arrived at the cafeteria, it was just in time for Isabelle to see Nancy behind the counter, towering over the hungry students and faculty.

Oh, what a big bear he was! Given she knew already that he was peaceful, however, Isabelle approached with absolutely no reservations. Nancy even seemed quite happy to see her, recognizing her as a new face.

"Hello! Um, I'm only stopping by for a moment with a friend. I'd like to try... lessee... oh!" She suddenly perked up once something caught her eye. "I'd like to try the raspberry danish, please."

With something that bordered on a happy growl, Isabelle was soon presented with a mouth watering raspberry danish. "There, see? Told you he was nice!" Banjo repeated.

"He is! Oh, thank you so much! Um... Banjo?" Isabelle eyed him, urging him forward with a little bump of her elbow. "Didn't you want something to eat, too?"

"Oh, sure!" he said, walking up to the counter. "Six honey donuts, please!" And lo, delicious sweet pastries were his.

"Honey donuts?" Gaaaasp, no way. That means...!

"It's true, then? Bears really do like honey more than anything else? Really?" After the crushing disappointment of Cats Not Always Loving Boxes, this perked Isabelle right up.

"I love honey! Pizza too, and burgers. But honey is great!" he explained, taking a bite out of his first donut.

"Oh, well, those are good, too! Though, I didn't think a bear like you would be into pizza and burgers..." Isabelle gives a bit of an awkward laugh, beginning to head off to one of the tables, expecting him to follow. "I like pizza and stuff like that, but not too much. It's a bit too heavy for me, I think."

"I cook a bit too, but it's nice to order out when you don't have to work too hard on a meal," Banjo explained, finishing off the donut and moving to the second.

"Oh, yes, that's true! It is very nice to have a break. I usually get quick meals to make because I... well, I have a lot of work to do," she told him, scratching the back of her head after having taken a seat. "I don't have too much time for all of that fancy cooking! It is a shame sometimes, but a dog's got to do what a dog's got to do."

Then, Isabelle finally took a bite of her danish.

Welp. If she had rockets built into her paws, she would have blasted off to Neptune by now.

"Oh gosh...! This really is good! Does Nancy really make these from scratch every time?" She practically melts into her chair. "It's so, so tasty..."

"I don't think I could last that long without a big dinner," Banjo said. "I get hungry pretty easy."

"Yup!" Banjo replied. "So we eat pretty well here!"

"Oh, well, everyone's different! I know I have a bit of a bird tummy. I can't eat too much, I guess."

Isabelle sighed, staring longingly at the danish before her, fiddling with it with her fork. "If I could, though, I think I'd eat these all day long. I'll have to eat here all the time now!"

"Just remember, if something weird is going on around campus, steer clear of the cafeteria for a couple of days," Banjo warned her. "Sometimes pranksters put weird stuff in the food while Nancy's not looking."

"Ohhh, is that why some of the weird stuff happens? Like those transformations from a while back?" Isabelle hummed curiously. It made a lot of sense, but sheesh... It sounded more like the academy had a bigger problem with security than it did anything else!

"Well... I'll definitely take your advice! That's really mean, though, isn't it? Maybe unless it's small and harmless like putting a fake bug in the soup..."

... Something she would have done as a pup.

Okay. Maybe something she'd still consider doing today. Maybe. Maybe not. It's tempting. It'd be funny, okay?!

"Yeah, like that," Banjo explained. "There's some weird people going to this school."

That was an understatement.

"Then we can't let that continue! I'll have to have a strict talk with the security department," she stated, slicing the danish further with her fork. "The cafeteria needs to be watched more closely, or who knows what will happen. What if the food gets poisoned one day? Not only is it a bother, but it could also be fatal!"

And that's terrible.

"If you can help, that'd be great," Banjo told her. "Hope you can do something about it! It'd be nice for stuff like that to not happen anymore!"
