[Kieran's never really been one to spend a lot of time on the computer -- especially not now that summer's officially rolled around. The sunlight stirs up his chlorophyll a bit too much for him to spend a lot of time sitting still, and that's more obvious than ever right now. Not only is it a few days after the solstice that marked the rollover of seasons, but he's having a hard time sitting still, often throwing longing glances out the window.]

Summer's here! The air's thick with poplar fluff and the dandelions are like little clouds, so that means that we'll start to see migrating Jumpluffs soon. Summer is the best season for spreading news, thanks to them -- I expect I'll get to hear from my herd, if I'm lucky.

Speaking of summer... I guess that's the only season I haven't explained yet, isn't it? I really have been here a long time. It's very easy to evolve in the summertime, when food and sunlight are easy to find, so summer-hearted Sawsbucks are pretty common. Just like winter-hearts are naturally inclined to know hardship, summer-hearts seem to be drawn to happiness. They've got a gift for finding the joys in life; nobody can find happiness in the simplest of things quite like a summer-heart can. They've got open, sunny souls that draw other people to them, so that makes their happiness pretty infectuous, too. Even if they don't mean to charm people, they can win a herd over with their warmth.

It's not always a good idea to let a summer-heart swoon you, though. They know what they want, and they're not shy about wanting it, but this can actually make the summer-hearted a little bit undependable... they either tend to get so comfortable where they are that they get stuck in a rut -- the stagnating kind, not the romancing kind -- or they get so caught up with chasing after whims that they leave things unfinished and brush others off without even noticing who they're letting down. They tend to be really creative and clever, but a lot of their plans fall by the wayside thanks to that.

[And speaking of that, Kieran's just been getting more and more distracted. He's clearly got more of his mind on heading back outside than discussing the finer points of his herd's horoscope system.]

Uh... what else is there to say? Hm. It's sort of funny, but... I've been blessed enough to meet one or two gods during my stay here in the divine realm. It's not easy to tell what season they belong to, but I think a lot of them felt a bit summer-hearted to me. I wonder if that means anything?

[It's kind of funny to watch all the wigglin' that's going on. Where he found the patience to sit down in the first place, Bulba will never know.]

It's always really nice hearing about these.. I bet Celebi felt like a summer-heart, didn't she?

[In the small interval between sending the journal entry and getting replies, Kieran had already moved over to the window. That voice was a familiar one, so he just started answering without paying much attention.]

Yes! I didn't know you knew her well, but I thought she...

[He spares a quick look over at the computer. Said glance quickly turns into a very intent stare, however, once he notices things are looking much yellower than they used to. Kieran's back over at the computer in a heartbeat, all but shoving his face at the screen.]

Oh! Am I wrong, or are you looking awfully summery yourself?

[He laughed.]

Super summery. You too! Though you do this every year, even if its the first time I get to see it... This new look is kind of permanent for me though.

Then you've bloomed?

[Hard to tell when all you can really see from a little computer window is much-more-yellow hair, but a Pokemon doesn't get a whole lot of other ways to get a permanent makeover, do they?]

Yes...!

[Encouraged by Kieran's enthusiasm, Bulba leaned in a bit towards his screen as he smiled broadly at him.]

I'd say my Charizard, Riwane, sounds more than a little Summer Hearted.

[OH IT'S THE HOUND OH NO OH JEEZ. Kieran ducks under his desk -- he's still not so good at remembering that the faces on the screen are just pictures, not the actual people themselves. After a moment, he can be seen juuust peering into the edge of the frame.]

Ah. A summer-heart sounds like a surprising match for you...

Aye. She is. Her personality runs fairly counter to my own, though, I'd suggest that's why we work so well. I keep her a little more grounded than she might be otherwise and she helps me see... possibilities that I would have otherwise missed.

[He sounds almost fond at this point. As much as it's possible for his voice to sound fond.]

[It's wicked surreal for a TERRIFYING DEER-MURDER MACHINE to be sitting aroun talking about things fondly, for the record.]

Opposite seasons tend not to get along very well, but we are taught that balance is important. I'm sure if you can keep from arguing, you'll both benefit from your partnership.

I'm just not sure that bodes very well for me and my kind!

We don't often argue, thankfully. And when we do, there's a mutual respect in place that prevents it becoming too nasty.

Oi, you've no need to worry. I've only ever chased you the one time, haven't I? And I've certainly not harmed any of the other Pokémon in the school, nor in the wood out back beyond training with Riwane.

....frankly, if it upset you so much to have me run around after you so long ago, then... I... apologize. Hrm.

[Oh god that sounded almost painful.]

Wait. You think this is the... divine realm?

Well, yes! There's an endless supply of food that you don't have to forage for, gods and spirits roam freely, our shelters are immune to the weather, and there's all sorts of magic that does things that would be impossible back in the forest. That sounds divine to me, don't you think?

[Pit looks puzzled, and tries to reason out Kieran's logic. He had a checklist of stuff that applied to his home, which was the real deal, and they all applied. But even then, this place? Not the divine realm!]

That... does kind of sound like the divine realm, but... something's not right. Trust me. I come from the divine realm. I'm an angel.

Oh... really?

[He tilts his head, looking just as puzzled as Pit.]

If that's so, then... what's missing?

[Pit scratches his head and stalls a bit, looking for answers. How to say this... Agh, why couldn't Lady Palutena be around here to explain things?]

I don't know. It just isn't.
