[007C - Text/Video - Betrothals and Ice Cream]
[Caim's found few reasons to address the network publicly. His attention has mostly been focused elsewhere. Whether he's trying to keep an eye on his sister, on Manah's next downfall into an abyss of despair, or the investigation surrounding the murder of Charlise, he's become quite the busy prince.
However, there comes a time when his thoughts must finally be addressed. He sits calmly and wears thought well, as if it were a set of armour and he was fully protected by it. His hair has grown too long, without a trim, but at least he doesn't look so completely disheveled. In fact, perhaps he likes the longer hair, which is why he's kept it.Or perhaps he's truly becoming the Lord of Vermilion version of himself.]
How do you suppose nobility selects betrothals for their kin? In books, there are tales of grand feats to accomplish in order to prove one's worth. In other texts, it seems to be most accepted over frequent discussion and decision. The very idea, however, is one that should not be taken lightly. How would you select the other half for your own?
[He pauses again with some consideration and continues, though not without a degree of hesitance.]
Miss Lyra. I do believe we are overdue for something. Consider my arm yours if you should have a fancy upon your mind.

Your mistrust and dislike for me I can, will, and do tolerate. Your lack of respect, however, is not an ally of mine.
[In short, mind your manners.]

Oh. OOOH. Oh. Oh.]
What got ya thinkin' 'bout marriage all the sudden?
And, erm...not to be nosy but what's goin' on with Lyra?
[She's one of his not!sisters so.]
[text]
[He does pause when Mac asks about Lyra. He considers smiling, but understands he so rarely does so that he probably shouldn't. It likely won't look genuine.]
I do believe she has been wanting to do something with me. As to whatever that may be, the idea is lost on me. I thought I would allow her to choose.
[text]
So it's because your...a noble, yeah? I mean I guess call me ignorant or somethin' but I guess sayin' you're required to marry seems a bit steep, don't ya think? I mean, don't ya at least get to, um, choose?
[Caim as a noble is reaching in finally. It's so weird to talk about this to him. That and technically, well no it IS. But Daisy was a princess, perhaps she's required to marry to.
Uh.
Uhhh.]
You guys became friends lately?
[HAHA okay subject change.]

Whoa, for real? You're not just pulling my leg? Because I'll gladly take that arm, trust me!

I would not offer it were I not sincere with the intent. You have simply but to choose what you would prefer to do and I will escort you.

Okay, well... oh, I know this really great ice cream place over in the city, how about that? I dunno if you like sweet stuff or not, but it's a nice place to hang out.

NOT HERE
It was not an entry she had wanted to read. It left her in disbelief.
She wanted to believe that it meant nothing- but for her brother to speak of such a topic, his written words did not betray that it was a question of some serious thought to him.
If it had been for himself... no, but this wasn't for Caim at all! Her disbelief turned into pain. Was he truly thinking of such things? Of looking for a suitor for her? After all that had happened? After Inuart?
It was true - in another life, Caim would have been King of Caerleon. He would have the right to decide such things of her. And perhaps he did still have that right, as the oldest. But why...? He had not even confronted her of this. Was it because it was not a matter he thought unnecessary of her opinion? Was it because of... herself?
Pain turned into despair and self-bargaining. Perhaps... it was only a silly thought, nothing more and nothing less. To bring up such a topic, but then to talk to another about a meeting? A... Miss Lyra? Who was Lyra? There was a sting of jealousy inside her as she thought about the unknown woman.
Perhaps soon enough, he would bring it up to her. Furiae hoped to believe so, at least.

We started out being friends because of common interests. We ended up together when we found out that we had a lot more in common than that. It wasn't arranged or anything like that, though. She says it was called fate, but I don't really know if I believe it. Considering what was going on, we would have probably run into each other eventually.
We went through a lot together, working with one another, and in the end... I guess you could say that I was fighting for her freedom. But it wasn't like I was trying to prove myself. I just wanted what was best for her.

A touching tale, yet not what I had aimed at. Informative, however.
[He thinks about how to make himself a little more clear.]
Families of nobility tend to choose suitors for their heirs at an early age. Betrothals tend to be instated and I had wondered how one would go about finding the worthy suitor befitting of a child of regal bearing.
[No one has ever accused Caim of knowing how to talk with people.]
