[Video] A lion! Quick get in the car!
It was far too cold for this kind of mystery, Daisy thought as she stood out in the snow by a short green Warp Pipe, rubbing her arms. Even with the heavy coat she was feeling the chill. She reached into the pocket and pulled out the letter from her father to read it over again.
Word of the riots in FDC had reached his ears, and like any overprotective father, he began to fret for her safety. She heard from him several times, asking if she was safe, if there was any trouble, if there was anything he could do… She did her best to reassure him, but it never seemed to do the trick.
Which is what made the letter all the more cryptic. "Dear Daisy, I'm sending something to help you. Please wait for it. Love, Daddy," she read the note to herself. What the heck could THAT mean? What was he planning? Whatever it was, Daisy had a feeling she should be worried. So while she stared at the pipe, waiting for whatever it was going to be to emerge, she did so with trepidation. She hoped beyond hope he wasn't going to send something to embarrass her, or worse yet, make a big scene or even make things worse.
For over an hour she waited, and waited, until she was about ready to give up and go in where it was warm. In fact, she turned her back to the pipe dismissively, but when she did she finally heard the distinct sound of something coming through. "Of course," she mumbled, turning around to see just what her father had sent.
The last thing she expected to come face to face with was a set of sharp teeth. She paused, eyes widening. It took her a few moments to process this scene: a big lion wearing a pharaoh's headdress sat over the pipe, looking down at her, its tail wagging slowly. A normal person might have been scared, but Daisy knew just what this was. "King Totomesu?" she asked. "What are YOU doing here?"
It was then she noticed that the lion had a letter clamped between his teeth. King Totomesu opened his mouth and dropped it into her hand, sitting back while she read it. Daisy opened the envelope, her eyes scanned over the page…
"Bodyguard?!" she exclaimed, looking up at him. "Daddy sent you here to be my bodyguard?!" King Totomesu nodded. Okay, this was probably going to be worse than she expected. She started to rub her forehead. "Look, I really don't think I need a bodyguard… Could you just go back to Sarasaland and tell that to my father? I really appreciate you coming all this way, but--" King Totomesu shook his head. He hopped down off of the pipe and trotted behind her. She knew the lion could be stubborn; she wasn't going to convince him. He had a duty, given him by his king, and he was honour bound to do it.
Finally, she just sighed. "Fine… I just hope Watt doesn't mind cats…"
---
So, uh… I don't want to freak anyone out or anything…
[As she spoke, a large lion's head tried to look over her shoulder, staring at this strange new technology curiously. Daisy had to hold its paw back as it tried to bat at her webcam.]
I, uh, have a guest staying with me for a little while! His name is King Totomesu, and he's really friendly, except when he's breathing fire, so um…
Incidentally, and on a completely unrelated note, does anyone have any experience looking after cats?

[Doot doot, video]
[Lucca looks amazed and delighted at the big lionlike critter.]
Oh he's so cool! I know a little about taking care of cats, but I've never seen one so big before! And he breathes fire too??
Re: [Doot doot, video]
[King Totomesu seemed to enjoy the attention and sat back, tail wagging, and let out a low grumbling purr.]

Wow, that is one biiiiiig cat...is he nice?
[That is very much a good thing.]
[The lion hopped down to approach Watt, sniffing at her. Daisy was immediately at his side, holding him back, just in case.]
