Text - Action
I see folk are looking to investigate the lake and what have you. I urge you to be careful.I've pointed it out elsewhere, but it probably bears mentioning here that the lake is not alone in rising - down at the docks and on the beach, tides are coming in progressively higher.
Just... be aware of your surroundings. Don't allow them to overwhelm you.
I apologize, but I may be absent from training for a day or two. I am feeling somewhat under the weather. I shall make it up to you once I am back up to par. That is a promise. In the mean time, train amongst yourselves, if you'd not mind.
[Action: Jon can be found in his dorm if you've a mind to go and find him. He's feeling twitchy, restless, grumpy, sleepless and head-achy. So, not wonderful company! Feel free to risk it, though.]

Re: [Text]
If you'd like to do me a favor, however, please, be careful when near the lake. The rising water worries me. Even if you're at home there, I've an off feeling about it at the moment. It would certainly take a load off of my mind to know you're being a little extra careful in the water.
Re: [Text]
Do you think your condition is connected to the strangeness of the changes of the land and water?
[In spite of what he said, she may or may not already be sitting outside beside his door being as quiet and mindful as she can. Just saying.]
The rising water worries me as well. I'll promise not to be careless around the lake. It even puts me, a water creature, at unease.
Re: [Text]
It does me good to know that you're going to be careful. Thank you.
[...he paused for a second, nose twitching. Not that she'd see it, being that it was text and all.]
Are you outside?
[Action]
She started typing, "Sorry" until she realized halfway through she could simply say it out loud.]
S-Sorry.... I. I shouldn't have come over uninvited.... [but she was worried. And being near Jon put her at ease.]
Re: [Action]
You've never a need to be invited. We're partners. What's mine is yours.
[Frankly, he probably looked awful. He was normally clean shaven and sharp eyed. Today, his five o'clock shadow was getting on towards seven thirty, his eyes were red and a little sleepy looking, and the hair on his head looked to have grown out a ways, too.]
Come in if you want, but I apologize in advance if I'm poor company, Chiyo. I'll put the kettle on, eh?
Re: [Action]
[She was tempted to stay until she saw his disheveled appearance. True, he was always so clean and sharp with his looks, so to see him in a bit of a mess made her even more concerned. She decided to linger by the doorway before going in further.]
It's okay. Are you sure you wouldn't prefer to be alone? I don't mind going....
Re: [Action]
No. I'd never turn you away. You ought to know better than that. Come in, sit down. I'm sure whatever it is isn't contagious.
[He was pretty sure he hadn't caught the Pokérus.]
How are you doing?
[He started getting things ready for tea.]
Re: [Action]
At the very least, allow me to help you with the tea, Jon. It's the least I can do for you. I insist.
And I've been... well. Just a little worried with how the land, the waters, and even the moon have been as of late.
Re: [Action]
[Compromise!]
The moon...
[The way he felt right now was similar to how he felt the evening prior to a full moon. But it couldn't be that - they'd just dealt with the full moon so he should be fine.]
...try not to worry too much, eh? Even the strongest amongst us are at the mercy of the earth and water, and even the moon. Concentrate on keeping yourself safe, certainly, but don't let it worry you. Worry changes nothing, after all.
[He sat down in his office chair, leaving his more comfy arm chair for her to use.]
Re: [Action]
Mmm... That's true. [She was always a worrywart. Always.] I know it doesn't help, but sometimes I just can't help myself but to worry.
Re: [Action]
[He scooted his chair closer so she didn't have to walk so far and reached for the tea. Sip, sip. It was good.]
Ah - Tis perfect. Thank you, Chiyo.

Re: [text]
[He doesn't pay much attention to Chao. They're poor eating he's found.]

...Not underwater, though. That's just a bad idea.
no subject
[For all Jon knows its your fault, Sun God.]
I daresay a worse idea for the lake than you. You'd... what. Boil it?
no subject
[Hey, don't blame him! This has nothing to do with his nefarious plots.]
Probably, yeah. It's pretty darn hard to toss fireballs around under a lake! The heat just gets dispersed everywhere and some fish get cooked.
no subject
....I could go for a little cooked fish, actually.
[Boiled in oil, though. Not lake water.]
You can still punch and kick though, I'm assuming. Do you need to breathe?
no subject
Pyrrhon's traveled through space, breathing isn't the problem. It's just that... Pyrrhon COULD do that, but. Pyrrhon fights with nothing less than the most spectacular means possible! Every move should be a mind-blowing fireworks display! Just non-flaming punching and kicking would be so dull.
no subject
Punching and kicking is excitement enough and it gets the job done. Fire is fine but it's not that impressive. I can make a pack of fiery wolves spring from my hands. Or a giant fiery dragon's head. But a well placed punch or kick works wonders.

There's more to fighting than just beating your opponent, after all! Every fight is a thrilling saga of heroism and might, waiting to be recounted as you share your glory with others!

no subject
Yeah, that's true and all, but. Come on! You don't need to sound so boring and tell me a bunch of boring stuff Pyrrhon already knows! Pyrrhon's a hero! Heroes are all about only beating up the bad guys.

Lakes have their merits. Absolutely. However, when they start growing for no appreciable reason, that speaks to a larger problem. So, it isn't the lake itself I take issue with. It's the fact that its growth is a mystery, and the answer to that mystery may be something less pleasant than just a larger lake.
Do you follow me?
Video
[He...never thought about the ocean.]
Have any ships had problems?
Re: Video
Jon himself looks kind of disheveled. Already wild hair looking strangely wilder, eyes looking red, and a beard growing in where he normally kept himself well groomed as any good Englishman ought to.]
Not that I'm aware of, but I've not exactly been listening to the shipping forecast on the radio. Quick search online shows nothing at the moment, though, I could imagine that changing if things get much worse.

[And there was Connor, as much no nonsense and work serious just like his Mama.]
no subject
I wish you luck, though.
[One part truth - because something was playing merry havoc with his moods currently. One part not so much - He missed Ziio. Connor reminded him that she wasn't around. The lovely lass with the dark hair and eyes who loved to walk in the forest and slept on furs... Halcyon days now past and sorely missed.]
no subject
He got to see her and she was gone again, and he missed her all over again.
Tell him all about it Jon, if you ever want to talk about it. Connor would be the person who would understand the most. But Connor couldn't dwell, not for long. He had too much to do.
He didn't want to push Jon into joining.]
Do you at least know how one can obtain a ship here?
no subject
Just be careful, alright? The ocean is dangerous at the best of times, let alone the worst.
[How would he explain to Ziio that her son drowned and he had something to do with it, should she ever return? That would be a difficult conversation.]
no subject
[He was just as determined though, just like her. No one was stopping him from doing something like this.]

[Private]
[Private]
....that was a selfish way to think, of course, and he'd promised to remain her friend. He'd asked for time and she'd certainly given him that. He took a deep breath and hit the Reply button.]
Something is off. I'm feeling restless and aggravated for no reason I can find. The rising water level has me worried, but it's more than that. I'm feeling out of sorts and I just can't pin down why. It's like the way I feel prior to the full moon but fifty times worse.
Re: [Private]
I find it hard to believe the two things are unrelated. But the full moon passed... Rising tides, rising water levels...
Re: [Private]
Re: [Private]
Just... be careful. And don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
Re: [Private]
Re: [Private]
Re: [Private]
[Well. He DID type that. Then realized what a stupid thing to say that even was. For a litany of reasons. Stupid mood swings. He deleted it promptly and settled for:]
Very welcome.
