01: ACTION and VIDEO taking place IN THE PAST.
Actiony Bits backdated to the 21st.
[So Green and Bulba had come back. Apparently. Where was Bulba though? What a mystery! There's this other guy meandering around campus though who kinda looks like him but he's taller and way more blonde. What a mystery! At other times there's a big Venusaur wandering around that looks kind of like Vinnie but way brighter green and with a big fat yellow flower. The mysteries just never stop emerging.
If you're a member of Green Team, he's looking for you. You too, RA party. He needs to say sorry for bailing on you for a few days. If you're another Venusaur, he sent you a text to meet up sometime that afternoon probably by a fountain or something. If you're anyone else, maybe he's familiar or maybe he's someone new you should greet.]

Video bits also backdated to the 21st.
[BUT EVENTUALLY A VIDEO POST POPPED UP ON THE NETWORK. IT WAS THAT GUY. He looked a wee bit nervous, but he was smiling at the camera for the video that was coming from Bulba's account.]
…Hello! There have been a few new students since I last said anything… My name's Bulba! I'm one of the girls' RAs so if you ever need anything, feel free to stop me if you see me.
Most of you already knew me as an Ivysaur but, uh, I'm a Venusaur now! I'll be getting used to it as much as you are, haha… I'm still the same me, though, so nothing to worry about there.
Have a good day, okay?

[action]
He's still half-asleep, but he's halfway aware that something smells an awful lot like Bulba's bud. Like really really an awful lot like Bulba's bud. Huh. Wonder what that could mean.]
no subject
Basically everything was weird and Char was probably still dreaming.
He was dreaming up that person squatting down near dargon heads. That person that smelled like five Bulbas.]
no subject
Sleepy dragon responded to this strange turn of dream events by folding in his wings and rolling onto his back. Hello, strange dream almost-Bulba's upside down feet.]
no subject
What.
What a weirdly realistic feeling dream. Someone that sounded a lot like Bulba but just different enough spoke up with a little laugh.]
Char. Char, wake up.
no subject
There was a brief delay wherein this turn of events slowly sank through his foggy mind. Then came a very unmajestic bit of wriggling wherein he attempted to jolt upright and turn himself toward almost-Bulba at the same time, ended up planting his hand on his wing membrane mid-pivot, and pulled himself back down onto the ground again. It was truly an inspiring and cool moment.
Attempt number two was much more succesful, and so came a very confused and surprised attempt to inquire if he was dreaming, and if not, was this in fact his kid brother, in which case what in the world had transpired over in Kanto. Unfortunately, trying to ask three questions at once when you're still drowsy is difficult at best, so what Char actually managed to do was make a sort of bewildered "uh?" noise.]
no subject
Bulba leaned forward a bit on his toes to peer at him, a very playful grin all over his face despite Char's difficulties. Partially because of his difficulties, maybe. They were definitely less alarming than spiraling out of windows and barreling towards him so Bulba was able to find the humor in the moment this time.]
Hiiii.
Um. Surprise!
no subject
One or two sniffs were all that was needed. He was, after all, exponentially more Bulba-smelling than he'd been before.
Then, the wiggly, poorly-restrained excitement started to grow as he took proper note of the brighter hair, the pale gold inner ears, the absence of leathery green spots. The tail-waving didn't take long to kick in after that. This exploration of Bulba 3.0 culminated in a big dargon lick right on Bulba's freckled face -- even if he didn't particularly need to have his face fireproofed at this moment, this was a super important change and thus the primitive lizard-brain part of his mind demanded that it should be protected by dragon drool.]
Holy shit, since when? How come you didn't say nothing? Lemme see you transformed, kid!
no subject
Okay, okay...!
[Bulba shimmied back on the grass a bit, giving himself a bit more room. He wasn't entirely used to the size difference yet, so he still wasn't sure how much was too much or how little meant he was transforming on top of Char on accident. Better to be safe than sorry, he figured.
A moment and standard poof later, most of that empty space had been filled out with a very yellow-y green, warty frog monster. He gave the usual shaking out of his leaves, but the familiar action was accompanied by the additional sway of stem and golden petals up on high. He still had to look up at his brother, but not quite as much as he used to.]
Uh, it was a few days ago... I didn't want to say anything just in case, you know... I decided not to. Sorry about that.
no subject
Maybe if it had been another situation, the more insecure part of Char would have felt hurt that this'd been a secret he couldn't be there for. The way things stood, though, evolution was far too huge and happy of a milestone for anything to shadow it. It was a strange sensation to be looking up at his little brother's petals, but there was nothing left-behind about it.
Oddly enough, his thoughts drifted to a moment more than five years ago, when he'd promised a brother small enough to piggyback around that he'd take him to the park they could visit the swings. For just a second, his chest felt full of the kinds of emotions only his tail-flame knew how to express.
He lowered his head again, bumping his forehead against Bulba's much broader one.]
Just don't go expectin' me to carry you around anywhere like this. You'd probably flatten my ass.
no subject
But if he could do it twice, he would have shared it with Char in a heartbeat.
Bulba lifted his head up to nuzzle his forehead against Char's, his wide grin that much wider on his new face.]
I'd squish you with only the utmost tender love and care, I assure you.
[He was joking and he was happy, but there was a slight shade of melancholy in his eyes over it. That was the hardest part, really. Getting used to the fact that he wouldn't be able to do those sorts of things anymore. No crawling onto anyone's lap or spur of the moment flights or anything like that. He already missed it.]
no subject
Not being familiar with that particular flavour of melancholy, he couldn't quite pin that hint of longing in Bulba's eyes down. It was less eagle-eyed empathy and more guesswork that lead Char to sit down on the grass, head tilting a little thoughtfully. He did at least know that suddenly doubling in size meant needing to relearn a lot of things; his evolution had been followed by a cringe-inducing phase of bumping wings and heads in doorways and knocking tails into things.]
Speakin' of, you adjustin' okay? I know it takes a while to get used to bein' that big.
no subject
[Bulba paused and reflected on this statement, then wrinkled his nose a bit.]
... I guess not fitting through doors is something I forgot to think about, ha.
no subject
[He laughed a little, then shifted back into human form and laid a hand down on Bulba's snout.]
But you got something most Venusaurs don't. We can do this, right? Human you didn't get that much bigger, did he?
[Please don't be taller than 5'8". Please don't be taller than 5'8". Please don't be taller than 5'8" he totally forgot to measure before Bulba transformed.]
no subject
Ah, he got kinda bigger...
[He'd been smaller than Char. Char was smaller than Green. But now Bulba was bigger than Green. Which... meant...
When Bulba shifted back, he was still sitting (now with Char's hand on top of his head) so it wasn't immediately obvious but.
He was kind of taller than 5'8".]
no subject
Char moved his hand away, this time so he could actually physically try to draw out that aforementioned invisible line of height. Even taking into account they fact that they were sitting, the inevitable had dawned at last.]
More than just kinda bigger, huh?
no subject
[It was incredibly surreal for him still. He'd spent the entirety of his life having to look up to a lot of the people in it. Nothing he really minded, that was just the norm. He was the little guy, so that made sense. It had not occurred to him until it had actually happened that there was a chance that someday he might have to actually turn his gaze down at them.
Like right now.
It certainly wasn't a very large look down, but it was one just the same, and it kind of wigged Bulba out. In the middle of this wigging out he attempted a sheepish smile.]
... At least I didn't end up like Rhys at all, right?
no subject
[It was, thankfully, not a huge height gap, but it was still enough to set Char once again thinking of the tiny little green-haired twerp he'd piggybacked around, the Bulbasaur he could effortlessly carry, the Ivysaur he'd surprised with a trip across the ocean to Green's side, abrupt requests to fly to the garden in the middle of the forest.
For a fleeting, panicky moment, he felt like something important had been lost, even if the only thing that he'd actually lost was his egotistical little "let's not feel runty" contest.]
Hell, I always figured you'd end up shootin' past me in a whole lotta ways. No reason height couldn't be included, right?
no subject
Well, I still need to work on everything else, so getting a bit taller was just kind of a lucky break.
[Pause.] Or maybe a little unlucky, I don't know... [He leaned down and over to touch his forehead against Char's shoulder. That much was the same at least.]
I'm probably just still getting used to things, but I don't know how much I really like being so much bigger right now.
no subject
[The head on his shoulder was still a familiar one, even if Bulba had to bend more than he used to. Char reached up to give the kid's hair a ruffle, wings stretching in front to curve loosely around the two of them.]
Like... bein' fully evolved means we could both use Earthquake if we wanted to. Just don't mention that one around Jolt.
no subject
Lips sealed. I was thinking about that one, though... There's actually a lot we could both use if we wanted, now that I think about it.
[Admittedly he had been more intrigued by the notion of Pledges.]
At least I'd make a good Earthquake Avoidance Perch, hah.
no subject
[Truly their Charizard-balanced-on-Venusaur strategy would be invincible. Truly.]
no subject
Eheh, ground taxis are at your service!
no subject
[He folded his wings in and raised his arms -- a clear suggestion that he was ready to be carried.]
Onward to school, noble steed.
no subject
As you wish~
[Instead of a transformation, however, Char got an especially mischievous grin. It was pretty much the only warning the Charizard got before Bulba scooped down to heft Char up in his arms, bridal style.]
no subject
It was a good thing that Char's folded wings were caught between his body and Bulba's arm, or there'd be a whole lot of startled bird flapping going on right about then.
Okay, it was a total fact that Bulba was pretty strong. Dude worked out. And it was also a total fact that Bulba was tall. (Single tear.) But when you're reminiscing fondly of the days when you piggybacked a little kid around, it's kind of a jolt when said kid picks you up like he's sweeping a princess out of a tower. Seriously?]
Seriously?
