[ A feed flickers on. The screen, at first, has only the oval peach fuzz of a stomach on it, skirted by waves of blue. Within a moment, Sonic the Hedgehog sits back and looks directly into the camera embedded within the laptop’s screen. He seems to be relaxing against a tree, though he keeps getting back into the camera again to do something, making the area unclear. The brown bark behind him and a few flittering leaves at least confirm he is outside. He officially takes a seat back, arms tucked behind his head and a grin on his face. ]

Y’know… I’m going to enjoy sticking around for a little while and seeing what this place has to offer, but…

[ His eyebrows lower, cheeks swelling with an exhale he can’t quite release. When the words continue, it pops right out. ]

Someone just said the words "school work" and I almost fell asleep right then and there! Telling you now: nothing in this world is getting me into a desk. Noooot happening.

[ He closes his eyes as a breeze takes hold of him. A smile crosses his face in the same natural breath, and he sighs contentedly, as if that last statement had settled that situation once and for all. ]

I’ve gotta give those Hands a hand, though: They’ve really mastered making you feel a little crazy.

[ Oh, god, he looks incredibly proud of himself for that one. No, Sonic. No. ]

I’ve never seen hands just floating around like that, though, not unless the Eggster was pushing their buttons, but I guess I’ve seen crazier. Do you have any idea what it’s like to talk to a sword? Do ya? Or to talk to yourself? Like, seriously, yourself - as a separate hedgehog! [ He pauses. ] It’s really cool.

[ Sonic’s voice drifts off, his eyes wandering elsewhere. Within a few seconds a chuckle bubbles right out of him. ]

This place… So far, it's been interesting.

[ Sonic points at the camera. ] But, seriously, I’m not going to class unless someone drags me, and – [ He snorts, an air of arrogance practically fogging up the camera. ] I’d like to see someone try and catch me.

He knows that voice. In fact, he had only heard it not even a day or so ago when he saved its owner from being trapped in a frozen state in time.

He didn't think she'd be here, too!

But was it her? He was learning quickly that not everyone was who they seemed to be. ]

Blaze?

[ He's into the camera now, as if he wouldn't be able to see her without shoving his head through the monitor. ]

No way. You're here, too?

Yes... Yes, I am. It's good to see you again, Sonic.

[ He ignores technicalities for now. It wasn't very often he got to see Blaze when there wasn't a problem.

Not that this whole ordeal might not be a problem, but considering that everything seemed peaceful in comparison to their previous meetings, it was one friendly face he was silently excited to see. ]

Same to you, Blaze! [ A smile quickly escalates under his nose. ] How's it goin'? I mean... [ He scratches behind his ear. ] How'd you end up on this side of the universe?

It's... complicated. [Her brow furrows.] A few months ago, I was meditating, when the Sol Emeralds started to react strangely. There was a flash of light, and I was back in this dimension, in this city of all places. I can't get home without the Sol Emeralds, but they've gone missing. I know they're here in this dimension, I can feel them, but I can't pinpoint their locations.

I've been trying to fit in here in the meantime, while I figure out what to do.

So when did you get here?

A couple days ago, actually... Seems like I've got a lot of past friends here! Literally.

[ He clears his throat, going back over her story in his mental records. 'Few months'... so this definitely was not the Blaze he had just met once again at his party. Unless the whole time situation was flipping its lid here, too. Either way, Blaze knew him without hostility, and that was more than enough for him. They had gotten off to a rocky start, after all. ]

You would have been a much better welcoming party, though.

[ And somewhere, that brooding, pissy welcoming party attendant was probably feeling an inexplainable rage at the ringing in his ears. ]

Is that so? What kind of welcoming party did you get?

Well, I'll tell ya this: Never have your party hosted by a territorial guy with a dark past and a superiority complex.

[ Sonic has taken to lying down on the grass, only the tip of his muzzle and his black nose visible on the screen anymore. He seems to have gotten bored of them ignoring him for like two minutes. Good job. ]

Well, now that you two have met... again. Sort of...

[ He kicks his legs up and sits up again, leaving only his torso available for viewing. USE THE DAMN CAMERA RIGHT, SONIC. ]

Blaze, you know I'll help you out, no matter what. Just say the word and I'm there!

What? [ Suddenly the screen gives one quick pan, rising north before aimed right for the sky. Apparently he had just... knocked it over.
