My scanners are short-range, Wave. I'd have to be standing on the surface of the moon to do that, and even if I were to reach it, it would take a ridiculous amount of time to traverse its entire area.

Likewise... if there's some person drawing it in, don't you think you'd have found some hint of them by now? Unless I'm mistaken, the security team's job is to patrol and monitor surveillance feeds.
