He wasn't really 'okay' right now, but this definition of 'okay' meant 'alive' and translated over well to him considering their mutual experiences. It was funny somehow that she was asking him to promise something when he made a clear show of being incapable of sticking to his vows, the very idea of keeping his word lately started to seem like an even taller order than it ever had been before, even when it was something as simple (albeit frustrating) as going to the nurse. It was more like a passing feeling of inadequacy every time he had to step up to it.
