If anything came from all the revelations about Hope's Peak, it was the gnawing feeling in the pit of her stomach upon seeing her dead classmates again--the awareness of those missing two years. Where just a minute ago she was angry, now Aoi could only seem to muster confused and vaguely sad as she tried and failed to conjure up memories from that time.
The knowledge that at one point, she and Mondo had been friends (maybe not as close a friend as Sakura, but a friend all the same)--and that she just couldn't remember no matter how hard she tried, hurt most of all. It filled her with what ifs.

"If it bruises or the swelling doesn't go down, promise me you'll go to the nurse, all right?"
