[Eli left a book on Vianca's desk. Stuck between the pages, there is a note folded twice. It is written on notebook paper that was clearly hastily torn from its notebook. It contains the following message;

Vianca,
Come to prom with me
Eli

There shall be no confusion.

After leaving Vianca the book, Eli stays in the library, but not anywhere near the front desk.]

Good.

[Admittedly, Eli was a little surprised. She would have liked to have been confident enough to simply assume Vianca would say yes, but she wasn't.

Pleasantly surprised, though. She didn't smile, but she did look pleased with Vianca's decision.]
