[The end-of-year holidays were stressful for Pulse, although he never celebrated Christmas nor any other religious observances, nor did he purchase gifts for anyone nor have any family to travel great distances to visit. Being Pulse, he had an entirely different set of reasons for looking so exhausted and overworked as he returned to the Academy for the winter period; he had been tracking down hackers taking advantage of the rampant consumerism of the season, and in the vast majority of cases, succeeding. However, when he wasn't huddled in his server partition dorm, he could be found bent over his books and coursework in study hall, muttering something about numbers and targets and apologizing to no one in particular, streaks of tears running down his cheeks. Even so, cybercrime wasn't the only thing that demanded his attention this time of year.]

I sincerely apologize for returning so late. If anyone encountered any computer viruses over the winter break, I apologize for that, too. I'll get back to work as soon as I can.
